Picked one up earlier. Ported in a lycamobile number so I had to do it in store and pay €20 for a new sim so €269 all in

Could I port my number back after a month to a cheaper sim only rate?

Whats the best way of getting a SIM so I could port a number to and then use my existing SIM in the pixel?

Do I have to buy a Lyca/Tesco mobile SIM for €20 on top and then another 20 on three credit?

Assume these are sim free?

Ordered & didn't have to top up - used one of many 48 sims I got delivered months ago for porting deals just like this.

Yep, they send you a pin to the porting number and then that’s it. Then just binned the sim after the order went through!

I was keeping an eye out for a pixel phone for a while , this dropped only in the last few days so have ordered it now .

Three will sell you the phone at this cheap price if you port a number to their network. So, you can get a cheap or free sim and port that number to their network. And then put your regular day to day sim in the phone.

I did this for the pixel 7a.

Is that possible, or does she need to switch to 3?

I've had no issues with overheating with my pixel 7a. I was concerned about that as I'd heard same about the 7 and 6 at the time I got the 7a.

Camera is great and you get many years OS and security fixes, assuming Google does not reneige on that. Also, it's "pure" Google Android so everything just works if you're in the Google/Android boat and no bloat software installed.

What is the cheapest way to do this without actually swapping a number? I see lyca sim cards online but they have to be shipped.

I have one of these (8A) a couple of months and get about 1.5 - two days battery and zero overheating, I'm not a heavy user admittedly but that genuinely surprises me. My previous Pixel 3A had an awful battery-life from the get go by contrast. Maybe the 8 version has worse battery life?
