That would be some spell of interesting weather to follow this very settled spell. Would be the most enjoyable November ever. Total FI BUT every run I've looked at in the past few days shows the Atlantic staying very quiet one way or another right through the next 2 weeks.

Looking at the temperature anomaly for the opening week of November many of our stations are between 4 and 5C above normal for the time of year with little to no rainfall. November will most likely finish a milder than average month but the temperature anomaly should decrease by mid month as a brief cold snap or cooler spell is likely, however whatever cooler period we do get will most likely be short lived and we could easily go back to a mild south-westerly Atlantic pattern after that.

The first week of November 2024 was only a degree colder than June and nearly as mild as September at Dublin Airport. Wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry.

I am loving this weather with no rain and the ability to get the children outside to play to wear them out.

I would prefer to have nice weather spread throughout the year like this.

Have no doubt, we'll pay for this settled spell by having 2 months of cold rain come December.

I just keep thinking what if we had this 3 week spell of high pressure mid July to mid August with winds up from the south or south-east most of the time and high pressure parked right over us for the majority of it. We would probably have ended up with an amazing prolonged spell of high pressure with mid to high twenties for most if not all of it and temperatures into the low 30s in places along with exceptionally warm nights if not tropical at times.

Quick check Malin November is currently running warmer than June. Markree castle June only .1c warmer than November . Perhaps the first time that has happened this far in to November.

That's what I mean winter will be milder than the summer at the rate☀️ I said that a few weeks ago the way the year is going

Sunny breaks got the temp up to 15.1c here today near Tralee, running around in short sleeves much of the day . Cloudier towards evening with a breeze so making it feel a bit cooler but on it rolls and has been good for my work this last week and hoping to get out in the air for a few hours tomorrow. Looks cloudy and could have patchy light rain and drizzle at times but amounts small, bit wetter in the SW later perhaps. Mountains could be fairly wet with low cloud.

Temps slowly falling day by day with cooler nights moving into next week. Might have to put on the long sleeve shirt!

We are over 2 weeks now in Dublin with no sight whatsoever of the sun.

It's like groundhog day everyday with the gloom and drizzle!

    Another cloudy morning.

    11⁰ Meath

For a brief moment Thursday thought there were clearer skies breaking the grey blanket but lasted 45 mins; generally the same grey blanket hanging out in my tshirt ;)

Sea2Summit adventure race Westport today. No Atlantic bashing them as they go on their way. Who knew! Love to be there.

Are we due some sunny spells tomorrow.

Off for a dip in Portrane. Shame no wee sunrise.

The lack of rain and wind for the past weeks has just been brilliant. I know it's been damp and drizzly in places but in general it has been some very decent weather for November. And a quick look at the models shows very little rain on the ECM until the 18th, and GFS goes all the way to the 25th with barely a drop. Long may it continue!

I wonder with all the increase in cloud caused by warming Oceans etc is Irelands climate eventually just going to turn into a bland meh cloudy YEAR of 13c to 15c. It's not impossible though January to March are a lot colder still.

Drizzling all day again in South Dublin, however winds should be going SW tomorrow so hopefully the Wicklow Mountains will do their thing and bring some nicer weather here.

If it was valid for this coming Tuesday we’d all be taking it seriously, unfortunately it’s the week after. Nice to see all the same.

The 'lack of rain' is a bit of a swizzle in Dublin anyway.

Take yesterday officially only 0.2mm at Dublin airport but it was raining nearly all day when you look at hour by hour stats.

Yes most of it drizzly rain but still makes it miserable.

Today is rinse and repeat again.

At this stage I'll take the cold weather once it means I see the sun again.

Much the same as the first half of the summer was, statistically dry but in reality constantly damp and unpleasant.

Overall I'm not minding this period though as sun at this time of the year is so weak and low in the sky that it doesn't even brighten the place up all that much and not needing the heating on even once so far this year has been great. I'll gladly take another week or two of it if it keeps away cold, wet, windy weather for another while, once that gets going it usually doesn't stop for months

Felt warm for a time late morning /early afternoon in sunshine and light breeze getting up to 16.7C ( bit of a Fohn effect here perhaps nudging up the temp a degree or so, often does that here out by the coast near Tralee with a SE'ly ) , even out the back in bare feet on concrete and not cold underfoot ,back now slightly to 15.4C, more cloud about with a few slivers of blue at times and had a bit of mist momentarily earlier in sunshine. Looks like a damper evening later here in the SW but amounts small.

After an improved drier and increasingly clearer day for parts on Sunday the sky could have clearer patches later into early Monday morning giving a colder night leading to a foggy start on Monday for some especially in parts of the Western half of the country and a brighter, cooler and dry day could follow for many.

Looks set to get increasingly cooler as the week goes on with increasing touches of frost in places. Met Eireann :

Outlook: Friday and next weekend will be quite cold with sunny spells and with rain or showers moving down from the north at times. Day time temperatures will range from about 6 to 10 degrees with mostly moderate north or northwest winds. There will be frost in places at night.

Loving this dry mild weather in November. Getting loads done around the garden and hardly burning any logs. Golf course in great shape too. I will hibernate when the crap weather comes.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Stopped caring about that crap after the disaster that was last winter. That was the final straw for me.

I'm so confused with all the talk of great weather. Living in the "sunny south east" and haven't seen the sun since for around 10 days and the last few days have been wet. Constant drizzle style rain. Every where is mucky, wet and yuk. Absolutely terrible weather.

Just a remarkable high pressure spell. I'm sure there's some topographical/mathematical modelling science at play but still find it amusing how perfectly centred over us this week high pressure is modelled.

Maybe the pleasant conditions have occurred where you don't live perhaps.
