If POC was in any other job on the planet, he'd have been given his P45 years ago. Lineout was dog 💩 and has been for an age. Ryan is a shadow of his former self.

better team won and you could see Ireland were a bit rusty

We need a good performance for the rest of the Autumn campaign because England and France are a coming force in 2025

Really can’t understand how a former player like Paul O’Connell, can’t coach even a competitive defensive lineout at this level. We come up against these top teams, that can go out and steal multiple Irish throws, while we can’t seem to get near theirs.

Our lineout issues, both offensively and defensively, have been going on for a few years now. It’s a bad reflection on Paul and the rest of the staff.

Aumua is a mediocre thrower and yet he looked top class compared to Ireland's throwers tonight.

Dude you can deny it all you want, any time spent watching him play would show how much control he exudes than Crowley and Frawley. He's going to be a much better 10 than either of them imo, and we'll regret the time wasted not bringing him sooner.

Jgp and lowe our best players. We should ask NZ to send us a few more they dont need.

Bealham was grand, he went 80s minutes and the scrum held up, bar an absolute bullshit call by Berry

Henderson was evidently done in RWc23. Persistentig wuth him, Murray, Pom, Healy is a joke.

    Poor judge Andy.

Pretty forgettable match to be honest, not played at a high level at all. Our rustiness absolutely came back to haunt us. Poor decisions, poor Discipline, poor match fitness and piss poor set pieces. NZ had to do feck all really to win that. They probed a few different ways of attacking us and scored eventually going coast to coast against a very tired defense.

We really need to move on from some players at this stage. Pom, Murray, Henderson absolutely. Healy obviously but there's simply no one talking his place from him, compared to the three previously mentioned. We should not have be giving Henderson and herring their match fitness minutes in a game against ABs.

Age profile is terrible. 11 of 23 over 30. We are too slow in refreshing the squad. The fact that Cian Healy is still out back up loose head at 37 is atrocious. If Gibson-park was 23 you could understand keeping Murray as back up SH but persisting with is doubling the job to replace both of them. No value in bringing O’Mahony other than sentiment in his last season. Again if he was backing up a 25 year old maybe. But the 6 was 32. I fear a bit of a missing generation in many positions

I couldnt agree with this post more....the amount of disgust we have with the likes of Ben Earl when he celebrates a knock on should be alloted to Lowe...

He was gassed very early on. He coughed up two earlier pens for not rolling away in the first half. He's an ok player. But our depth at TH & LH still persists.

Said on here this afternoon that post Sexton we've been sloppy and that NZ would win. I keep going back to the players openly admitting standards went up when Sexton was on the pitch. Still good enough to beat a disinterested France and the likes of Wales and Scotland but we were found out against England and for large parts of the series in South Africa. Sadly I fear this team peaked last year and I'd be shocked if we're in the top 4 come the next RWC.

Agree for the most part bar Bealham, he was decent and robbed of a scrum penalty. Played 79mins too

I'd lay no small blame for the WC loss on the lineout being shite. NZ did the exact same **** then, closing the gap and we did nothing to counter, or copy them

The 6 nations could be messy without Farrell, I think Easturby led this team tonight and something is missing. I'm not sure we will be top 2 in 6 nations.

We were 10 points down, no excuse to celebrate a kick like that when losing at home badly . Lowe did a brilliant kick, but team needs points. Go up nd win the line-out.

yeah the jury is still very much out on him imo since he hasnt actually played that much at 10, let him become first choice 10 for leinster before catapulting him into the ireland team.

Really reminded me of the last game at the World Cup. We lost out in the scrum and line out. New Zealand compressed the space and we looked clueless on the ball. They beat us in the breakdown too.

    Communication was the greatest fatality

What was wrong with the Lowe 50:22 celebration? It was clearly done to pump up his teammates and elicit a response from the stadium.

We were down by 10 points with 10 minutes to go. We had very little attacking ball for the majority of the second half and the stadium was quiet.

can someone explain to me how that useless Nordie tub of lard Henderson gets picked for Ireland

    Mod: Tone it down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,000 ✭✭✭almostover

Especially when you consider we had 3 second rows and a no.8 who's a decent lineout option on the pitch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 745 ✭✭✭farmerval

Maybe we should have an actual coach doing the coaching????? Not someone that the media have a never ending horn for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,000 ✭✭✭almostover

When he's the nailed on starter at 10 for Leinster, maybe your argument has merit. Until then we'll have to make do with Crowley

I can see Farrell giving the same team a chance to redeem themselves next week. It's a well known coaching tool to give the same team another chance after a bad performance.

But another poor effort against Argentina and we could see a fair few lads dropped. The bench definitely needs looking at. Henderson and POM made little impact and Healy hasn't done much off the bench in recent years either.
