not necessarily, and the performance of one company doesnt represent the opinions of all, including all voters

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 626 ✭✭✭felonious_Gru

Which company is the guy who has been a central figure in Trump's public rallys of late , CEO of ?

If it was Toyota or VW stock which was hammered all last week, I wouldn't take any notice

Are you saying that if Trump wins, Harris will rile up a a mob of her supporters and encourage them to attack the Capitol? Because I don't see that happening.

I can see it happening the other way, because we have some pretty good evidence.

Or, perhaps her supporters will attack Republican voters while they try to vote? Only one group doing that at the moment.

Your post does seem to be trying to "both-sides" political violence in the event of an election result they don't like. When, in reality, the majority has come/is coming from one side.

I'll stick my neck out there but I think:
    Kamala

Senate goes R with 2 seats margin

House is a coin flip but let's say D by 1 seat

I'm basing that on that more females than male vote and and the female vote tend to be more D than R and with Trump's foot in mouth disease on "protector of women" and "I pushed through abortion removal in the supreme court" etc. as the reason why. I don't expect we'll know until earliest on Friday once Pennsylvania is finally counted and I expect Trump to declare himself the winner before Wednesday morning even as the count is ongoing followed by accusations of voter fraud when the vote goes against him.

Kamala will win popular vote but Trump will win Election.

Kamala is weak, she is a poor candidate, however, on the other hand you have Trump. A disaster of a person, a complete liability.

I care not one jot for that Country anyway. I hate New York, i hate the majority of their stupid accents, i hate their food, i despise their politics and hate their god syndrome mentality.

Regardless, i'll watch some of the TV coverage for Channel 4 as they have excellent presenters hosting including Maitlis, although if they turn it in to the shitshow event like they did for the British GE i'll be fairly swiftly moving on

That is not what I said. If I wanted to say that, I would have.

If Harris wins, trump supporters will feel the election has been stolen and not accept the result and some will act violently

But if Trump wins, I find it very feasible that one of her supporters will assassinate, or try to assassinate, the president elect which would be catastrophic.

Sorry if that is both sidesing it to you.

I've not taken a stance on either candidate but I am astute enough to predict that either result will result in chaos.

But perhaps if I end the post with Donald Trump is a bad candidate, you will stop trying to put words in my mouth.

ahem Trumps previous two assassination attempts were by men who were aligned Republicans.

There's no evidence whatsoever pointing to Democrats getting violent in the event of a loss. On the other hand, the Republicans have prior history with violence.

Whatever about Tesla I think the Donald Trump stock itself tanking is an interesting sign

Ever since last Tuesday it's been in a tail spin

I've said it before, if he wins truth social will rocket as it'll become part of the official presidential record. Seeing it dip like that is wonderful, but a real correction should bring it back down to $12 a share

Which candidate's supporters have a history of violent reaction to an election loss?

But yeah, one of Kamala's supporters will try to assassinate him. Sure.

Which is why you used the phrase "America is about to burn" and are now trying to row it back.

    Transparent.

I just checked out of curiosity. His stock is up 70% YTD.

Don't pay too much attention to short term peaks and troughs when it comes to the stock market (Some caveats do apply to this rule though)

I am not rowing anything back.

I said America would burn no matter who won.

    I stand by that.

Now this stock movement should be ignored as it's been a super volatile traders plaything since the start

Jesus I hope Trump doesn't win.

I can't handle 4 more years of daily headlines of "You'll never guess what Trump said!"

This should be a straight forward

All the Democrats have to do is get the vote out in those swing states and Harris is president.

But it's not that straight forward, because Democrat voters are picky and just won't vote for anyone just because they are on the ticket.

This should not be as tight race, Trump is so off the charts as an individual he should not even be considered, hopefully the Democrats have convinced enough of their own people about the danger of Trump that they will come out and vote for Harris.

American elections are weighted coin flips. Nothing more. I remember when Roy Moore was running for re-election and someone asked his opponent on what was then Twitter how he wasn't more than a few percentage points ahead given that his opponent had molested teenage girls.

I so hope you are wrong with them Predictions.

I predict Harris to win by the smallest of margins and for crybaby Trump to whinge and call for stolen elections before it all comes to nothing and he finally gets what's coming for him. A nice spell behind bars in a cold Prision somewhere.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

You were making the case for the Tesla stock mirroring sentiment in the race.

I think that's a compelling argument given how much Musk has tied himself to Trump.

The thing is that is Tesla is still a few steps removed from Trump and it's ebbs and flows can be for all sorts of other reasons.

Unlike Tesla, DJT has no inherent value. It's linked to a Social Media site that has zero commercial value. Its value is instead directly linked to Trump's fortunes.

It has a current market capitalisation of $6 Billion dollars!!

The sole purpose for DJT is a way for wealthy people (or foreign entities) to funnel money to the Trump family and for supporters to show their support for him.

Its price over the last several months has risen and fallen with confidence in Trump's ability to win this election

    image.png

The sharp decline started in earnest when Joe Biden dropped out (Arrow #1) and Harris became the candidate. It hit a low just after their debate in September (Arrow #2). It has been climbing steadily ever since and rapidly 2 weeks ago as confidence in Trump winning started to peak. Arrow #3 marks the beginning of the slump which occurred in the aftermath of the Trump rally in Madison Square Garden and the comments about Puerto Rico.

I think certain wealthy individuals are worried about his prospects and are getting their money out before the election knowing that if he loses that it will likely collapse to nothing.

For anyone interested in Ann Selzer's poll and methodology, this is a good interview that was held the morning after her poll was released.

She certainly seems very sure of her numbers. She says she has her doubts on weighting polls based on what happened in 2020, which is very interesting in of itself. She wasn't shocked by what these polls revealed, as she had been watching them everyday, but her nephew (interning with Gallop) was completely taken by surprise when she showed him the night before they were released. She wisely keeps her counsel as to what her poll might mean to other states.

I am very interested to see if she's miles off, or is close.

Her last 8 election predictions have been very very accurate

The Selzer poll gave me a boost of optimism but I'm feeling nervous and anxious now. I'd love Harris to win in a blue wave but can it be possible when almost every pollster suggests it's so close?

I think it all hinges on Pennsylvania. My sense is Trump will take Arizona, North Carolina, Nevada and Georgia. I'd say Harris' best hope for swing states are Michigan and Wisconsin. That leaves Pennsylvania as the decider and I'm afraid to call it.

I think Harris will win in a landslide, Dems keep the Senate, flipping a few unexpected seats, and extend their control in the House.

I’m curious how you define a landslide.

A Biden style landslide or a Reagan style landslide?
