Same here, she was 1.8:1 only 48 hours ago in the local bookies. Not a gambler myself but threw my weekend beer money on it, it is money gone anyway so no loss either way.

According to the news source, some of the posts stated, “I am sorry. If you support the Democratic Party, I will not help you” and “The problem is that I know which of you supports the Democratic Party, and I will not help you survive the end of days.”

In another post, according to WHIO, Rodgers wrote that people would need to “provide proof of who you voted for” before rendering aid.

In the latest episode of Trumpers losing they damn minds because it looks increasingly like they will lose the election, an Ohio Sheriff Lieutenant put this stuff in writing fantasizing about “the end times” and making enemies out of democrats. Since it’s blown up in his face he’s using the Rosanne Barr excuse: uhm my meds made me say it I don’t even remember doing it.

These people are unhinged themselves so of course it makes sense they’ve been following Trump off a ledge

I’ll watch later - yes it is a bit of a phenomenon I guess and something probably unique to when Trump came on the scene -,whilst we’ll know a lot more after the election just where the key groups such as ethnic minorities and blue collar workers really stand, it’s clear he’s a bit of a pied piper

100% none of us really know until the ballot boxes are open, until then, they have both potentially won or lost.

interesting tidbit from seeing the clip via Reddit: the NTD network cut their live feed right after that. Presumably the camera man went rogue. I say that because the NTD is right wing, connected to the Epoch Times a right wing conspiracy theory outlet.

The camera man going rogue and the feed being cut off which you can see below just makes it funnier, the emperor has no clothes:

Remember when Trump supporters were declaring very dramatically that they would hold Harris etc responsible if their were any more assassination attempts on Trump because of their reckless comments?

Think they hold Trump responsible for this? Or any of the other incidents that might occur over the next few weeks?

From looking at afar at this point, you would think Harris would landslide it - I said that at the start but certainly reversed out that a month ago with the way her polls appeared to stall as if she’d reached some sort of glass ceiling limit. I reckoned being part of the current administration was the key factor there.

This last week has been a game changer in my view but likely I’m being influenced by all kinds of media and polls. Certainly Trump has done a lot to lose it at the very least.

My mind is probably around the question do the American people wish to progress or regress? Regression suits a lot of people - both rich republicans and in their minds at least, poor democrats .

They didn't when MAGA tried to kill Nancy and Paul Pelosi. Why would they start now?

A big thing for Alex Jones, as some of our Trump supporters are familiar with, is that he makes claims that They/the deep state are planning to do false flags and blame on Trump supporters. This is really just him and other right wing media types preparing to cover themselves if there is any violence. They can deflect and claim that it was all staged so they don't have to take any responsibility. We see this being applied to Jan 6th by folks who claim it was all anti-fa etc.

I suspect that if there is any violence we'll be hearing about staged attacks and crisis actors before we hear any Trump supporters hold Trump to blame.

I'd expect it of him regardless to any weird behaviour on his part as he wants to win…

The swing in the Selzer polls between Biden and Harris might suggest an indiscrepancy, when you look at the likes of YouGov polls etc you can see from Biden stepping aside to this week there is a gradual creep in Harris catching up. If the models are just taking all Dem vs Rep polls into account then it's probably pulling back a little on the reality of Harris polling.

Georgia has already seen 4 million early votes. Thats 75% of the total turnout of 2020. Texas is at about 74% of total 2020 votes in early voting. 43% nationally with 53% being women voters and 20% unaffiliated/independent.

I do think the higher turnout will be in Harris' favour, with Michigan the only state I would say is closer than it should be because of Israel/Palestine, an issue that could have a wider impact especially with younger voters.

    More ad-hominem

If you can find one post of mine that expressly supports Trump, by all means post it.

I’m basing my opinion from polling data from both RCP, 538 and Nate Silver.
    something credible.

The Harris blowout talk is mere speculation at this stage. One that had the same chance as a Trump blowout.

I think Trump only needs one of , PA, MI, WI , to win.

It doesn't matter which, can't lose all three though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,309 ✭✭✭✭markodaly

Unlikely considering it looks like the Senate could flip Red.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,309 ✭✭✭✭markodaly

    True.

He may just need one while Harris needs all 3. This is why I think Trump is the slightest of favourites.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,430 ✭✭✭circadian

What happens if it ends up 269 each?

Trump gets PA, MI and NC

    Harris gets WI, GA, AZ

Works out at 269 each provided everything else stays as expected

Can you support that? I can't find any senate or house predictiona anywhere

It's decided by Congress if that was to happen. Senate would decide the VP. There would be some drama if it came down to that!

Calling RCP, Nate Silver and 538 credible is certainly a personal choice.

538 is fun for a laugh and the pollster ratings, at least they try and evaluate polling quality, but RCP is a real dumbed down average of all polls, even the junk ones, and Nate Silver is bankrolled by the same guy that bankrolls JD Vance, and also, he's been a rather poor predictor of elections himself, as his time with 538 when they predicted a Hillary landslide would tell you.

Democrats have an upbeat tone late this week apparently peaking at the right time - just shows what a few weeks can do and in high contrast to earlier this month.

Nothing guaranteed but given Trumps very weak and off the charts speeches and behaviour since last weekend onwards and especially because he’s not intending to carry in any dramatic positive policy to the white house that could appeal to all voters , the attraction , whatever it was in the first place, to vote Trump is weak this week at least. Talk about timing!

If democrats do win by a small margin , apparently the legal challenges are already in place to be kick started up and down certain states - it will be ugly, people will certainly lose their lives - I just hope it will be over quickly- I don’t think the capitol will be impacted like last time - I think it will be certain states that will experience the brunt of the MAGA protests and violence

“Vice President Kamala Harris has spent much of the past two months portraying herself as the underdog in the effectively tied race against former president Donald Trump. In recent days, however, the Democratic presidential nominee and her top aides have struck a somewhat more optimistic tone in public, conveying to supporters and the media that they expect to win the race — albeit by narrow margins.”

“Harris’s advisers attribute the recent movement in their direction among late-deciding voters to the divisive tone that Trump’s campaign has struck in the closing days, and especially to remarks by one of his warm-up speakers at a Madison Square Garden rally who described Puerto Rico as an “island of garbage.”“If you look at the full data, the conclusion is crystal clear: She’s ahead in the states she needs to win to get to 270 and neck-and-neck across the battleground,” Future Forward President Chauncey McLean said in a statement. “The trajectory of the race is increasingly in her favor and she’s on track to win.”

The worst outcome, it goes to a contingent election in Congress where a majority of Republican States coronate Trump.

Do you then end up with Trump as President and Harris as VP? Bad news for Trump and GOP then as Trump needs to live 4 years to prevent Harris inheriting the top job. And Trump can't slide off quietly into retirement safe with Vance then pardoning him for everything. He'd have to hang on or go straight to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Safe to say absolutely nobody wants a repeat of Bush v Gore again. An absolute embarrassment and nightmare, and one that would be more embarrassing again with the changed ideological environment since then.

For a bit of levity, the SNL cold open, lampooning the home stretch of the campaign, eg. Trump's sexual gesturing with a microphone: "the last time I hate a mic this much, I tried to have him killed. Pence!"

"Now, let me just send a quick text"

    "Oh, who are you texting?"

    "Every single person in America"

    "Those actually come from you?!"

"Yeah, they all start with 'Hey, it's Kamala'"

"Is there any way I can stop getting them?"

    "Oh, hell no"

I sure have gotten a lot of texts this cycle…

I think the impersonations really peaked a long time ago with Tina Fey being Sarah Palin but SNL is still in it.

"I don't really laugh like that, do I?"

"…eh, a little bit. Now Kamala, take my palmala: the American people wanna stop the chaos-"

    "-and end the dramala"

"-with a cool new stepmomala, kick back in our pyjamalas, and watch a romcomala,"

    "Like Legally Blondala"

"-and start decorating for Christmas, fa la la-la la. Because what do we always say?"

    "Keep calm and carry onala!"

    _

    "I'm gonna vote for us."
"Great - any chance you are registered in Pennsylvania?"

It all depends who controls the senate. Only the House votes for president en bloc in a contingent election, which will almost surely go to Trump, the Senate votes individually, so they could for sure just put Kamala in.

Even if the House is also controlled by Dems next year Trump could still be named President but then with a Democratic House majority experience multiple impeachment attempts however the GOP have shown they have no spine in the Senate to get over the hump to convict. Even the ones like McConnell who like to say nowadays 'ah yeah he should have been impeached he should have been prosecuted etc.' watch what would happen if he were impeached again, they'd go back to the same playbook.

No I can think of several people still in play who participated in Bush v Gore and/or the Brooks Brothers Riot that would love a repeat of Bush v Gore so I would not feel safe saying that. And several of them have moved up to the Supreme Court.
