Another seditionist has been arrested in Arizona again this time for arson to a mail box which destroyed USPS mail including ballots. Another dipsh*t who will have the book thrown at them then lose their voting rights for life even after they get out of federal prison. And the peoples whose ballots got destroyed will be notified and they will be allowed to cast new ballots. Was it worth it?

But again, she was asked directly about her opinion on Kelly's statement.

What should her response have been?

Dodge The question? Cause we just had people complaining that she dodges too many questions?

Lie and disavow the statement? Cause that runs the risk of pissing people off for being cowardly.

Harris had plenty of other stuff to say at that town hall. I'm betting you don't know what else she said though.

Elon Musk didn’t give away a million dollars yesterday after the DOJ reminded him uhm buying votes is super duper illegal.

Legal Eagle has a video about that crime on his channel today that was produced before the DOJ gave the reminder, but it appears Musk has suspended his “lottery” now, and the DOJ might have opened an investigation.

That’s not the only crime Musk is likely up to though: Opensecrets reports Musk is also funding a dark money PAC that is deepfaking alternate versions of Kamala Harris campaign websites and sending texts out to targeted voters impersonating the Harris campaign and directing them to sites that purport to be legitimate campaign sites, but aren’t, and ascribe policy positions to Harris that are completely bogus and attempt to feed into right wing conspiracy theories.

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/elon-musks-fake-sites-and-texts-impersonating-the-harris-campaign

those are federal crimes as well, and if convicted Elon may well have stupided himself into a lengthy federal prison sentence in addition to permanently losing his right to vote for committing election crimes.

it was clearly meant as a rhetorical question by you - you posted your links and you named off a load of celebrities and showed some democrats in Georgia having a nice time - you didn’t “prove” anything except in your own mind - as I said the democrats still have to win - whether these millionaire famous people do anything for swing voters won’t be known till election day at this stage - if even then

    "But Labour volunteers…"

Bet we're still going be hearing about how democrats were rigging things in a few weeks. im just curious when the switch will be.

What are you talking about? They called him a fascist, I don't remember that tonight.

I'm talking about how everything Trump was bad. The first words out of Miriam's mouth about Trump were negative. No criticism of Harris throughout whatsoever. Did you watch it? Have you seen their coverage of the whole election. They're supposed to be impartial. And I like to question the system.

He was found in a civil court to be liable for sexual assault.

    He has 34 felony convictions.

He was found liable for defamation.

He incited a riot on Jan 6 and refused, for the first time in recent American history, the peaceful transfer of power.

    He committed adultery.

He said he wanted army generals like Hitler's.

He was found guilty of fraud.

His own former chief of staff called him a fascist.

He said himself he would be dictator on day one.

He said tonight if he got into power, he would fire the independent special counsel within 2 minutes.

All of those are independently verified facts.

If RTE or anyone else wants to state them out loud, they can and should.

    "But they didn't criticise Harris"

What on earth has she done that would in any way shape or form make her anywhere near the basement level of Trump?

What criticism should be levelled at here when her opponent is objectively that bloody brutal?

Ya but we're well used to that here. When Trump won in 2016, you'd want to listen to the bile and vitriol coming out of so called impartial presenters. That's why I switched off listening to those cnuts.

Donald Trump aggressively promoted a baseless conspiracy theory about the 2020 election and incited an attack on the US Capitol to overturn the result, despite it being completely fair.

The only reason that he wasn't president this last four years is not down to his respect for the democratic process (which he doesn't possess) and everything to do with enough people in positions of power to affect the election faithfully enacting their duties instead of listening to Trump's petty, bitter demands.

Trump (or more correctly, his backers) would certainly end free and fair elections if given the ability. It would once again come down to enough people putting country above party to stop, which I am considerably less confident of happening, given the ideological purge of the Republican party as well as Trump's likelihood to staff his second administration with MAGA loyalists, top to bottom.

It's a good list and I agree with it but I don't know if everyone is for reasoning...

Kamala has also summarized her policies in such a straightforward way that even those pretending like they don’t understand, or don’t know what her policies are, will have a hard time carrying on pretending like they don’t:

As for the Trump enemies list, that was already confirmed what, on Tuesday? When Heritage published their “Target list” of democrats and federal officials.

Some of his supporters would need pictures drawn by crayon in fairness, like their dear leader

Well in fairness they later released a clarifying statement

WSJ now reports Elon Musk has been in regular contact with Vladimir Putin since 2022, the same year he purchased Twitter and turned it into a cesspit.

I’m shocked, shocked! Well, actually not that shocked.

Among the reporting Musk has held back from rolling out Starlink to Taiwan on the day so of Putin, as a ‘favor’ to the Chinese Communist Party.

It seems likely that taking control of Twitter and turning it into a place where right wing conspiracies and election disinformation can flourish were at a minimum aligned with Russias purposes for keeping Americans divided, especially over the Ukraine war. In addition to the reporting about his fake Harris websites and his criminal vote buying and influence scheme it’s hard to argue that Elon isn’t wittingly or unwittingly a Russian asset (and likely the former). Remember early on in the war when he cut Ukraine off from Starlink because they were being effective with it?

    Exclusive report:

    Proxy reports:

    https://www.newsweek.com/putin-reportedly-asked-elon-musk-not-activate-starlink-over-taiwan-1974733

Elon might not be a free man for very long. We’ll see.

The question now is if Trump and Co will just ignore this and keep pressing ahead with the intention of giving Musk a government position. Or will he be dropped like a hot potato?

I think given how much support he gives to Trump it would be a sign of how big a deal these revelations are.

Will be interesting to see the tactics of the local "centrists" also.

Ignore? Deny? Argue that it's actually a good and clever thing for Musk to be pals with Vlad?

"Or will he be dropped like a hot potato?"

Are you kidding me? Mike Flynn, Don Jnr, Paul Manafort and Trump himself of course are besties with the Russians. I'd bet very surprised if trump didn't know already!

Doesn't seem to be working out does it because they keep losing.

Larry Donnelly doesn't believe it will be the last election. I'd usually listen to people who know about these things.

And have you forgotten Trump was already in office. And none of this fascist thing was evident.

Completely overblown and frankly stupid analysis of America particularly given that America unlike Hungary, is a federal country with separation of powers etc etc. Listen to Larry Donnelly, not whatever you see on twitter.

"None of this fascist thing was evident".

Yes. Yes it was. You're either choosing to ignore it, or you are ill informed.

Either way, "I'd usually listen to people who know about these things", so I won't be taking your advice.

I'd be interested to know your definition of fascism. Because I suspect it doesn't chime with 1920s and 1930s Italian and German fascism.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,026 ✭✭✭✭everlast75

    Before we get into that...

Would you have a problem if trump displayed fascist actions?

Once you say you would have a problem with that, I'll answer your question.

This is a bit of a side show considering he’s now excommunicated but given his former seniority in the Catholic Church including Vatican ambassador to the US, former Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano has gone full out against Harris .

Clearly the Republicans will lap this up - I’m not on Twitter but I imagine it’s being twisted into “Catholic church supports Trump”

Will it impact catholic Democrats is my only question?
In general don’t think so -I imagine most American catholics are as “a la carte” about their religion as Irish people have been in recent years. I imagine catholics who “only vote Republican” likely due to the anti abortion stance are probably in the minority and this message will only make them feel more smug about their decision to vote Trump.
But there’s always a chance that this absolute drivel by a man who’s under the illusion that he’s speaking on behalf of god, will influence a small number of people who are currently undecided, possibly religious and searching for a “sign” as to how to vote.

“Now, he has published an open letter to Catholics telling them it is sinful to choose Harris over Trump.

'The choice is between a conservative president, who is paying with his very life for his fight against the deep state, and an infernal monster who obeys Satan,' Vigano writes.”

So, another criminal (in the eyes of the Vatican) endorsing the criminal's favorite candidate? No news there.

The dwindling numbers of ultrareligious RCC'ers in the US weren't Harris supporters in the first place.

He was also ranting and raving about the same lunacy in 2020.

His brain has cracked, there will be no one listening to him who isn't already voting for Trump anyway.

I always get uneasy in a close election when any religious nut job like this guy opens their mouth - and given the fact that who the hell knows what influences swing state voters, there’s always a possibility of a few more thousand undecided voters heading towards Trump .

I’m not over emphasising the significance of this or him as an influencer, but considering whilst on one hand we had Muslim faith leaders publically support Harris at the start of October yet still, reports came through since of Muslim voters siding with Trump, it’s not particularly helpful let’s say, to the Harris campaign right now - who knows how close this election will be
