Well that's the way it is.

Clinton had a list of accusations as long as his arm and everyone loved him.Boris Johnson was a scumbag and fraud and won elections.

If you want to win elections you should work on picking candidates who do appeal to people not picking candidates who you think should appeal to people.

Alot of political parties seem to want to tell people what they should think rather than listening to what they actually think.

Looking bluntly at what's happening there, if it had happened during Trump's presidency, they would be bashing him as it would have been his administration problem. As it is, were he the sitting president now, that would also apply.

He couldn't turn off the re-supply/support/funding tap to Israel even if he was a dyed in the wool anti-state of Israel fanatic, which he is not because he knows who butters his bread. The GOP, for political reasons, wouldn't allow him. He'd have to ride out the storm.

If Saudi Arabia made a statement indicating that they want both the GOP and the Dems to turn off the tap, then it might have an effect but they haven't. Instead they had a recent meet with Trump and he has NOT suggested since that he'll turn off the tap to Israel.

Depending on which angle is taken, he doesn't look all that healthy.

Jowly, lined and you can practically make out the layers of makeup:

Not really. The conversations with the staff was unusual as he was being given instructions which he obeyed.

I love that stunt with McDonalds and how people keep on an on about it. Stoke of genius really, as it distracts us from Trump's election denial, disasterous tariff policies, criminal convictions, lies, lies and more lies, and his obscene continual race-baiting on the Central Park 5.

So keep on about the McDonald's fries and forget about everyting else.

"The genocide. Policy-wise, I don't like any of the Republican policies, to be frank, at all... I will still vote for him because one thing I hate more than all those other policies is genocide… And that's the sentiment of an entire community."

I asked what made her think Trump would be any better for the Arab cause.

"Trump is a wild card... will he do exactly what Kamala does or worse or better? But I know for sure what the Democrats are doing and they're intending to continue it."

I could understand Arab-Americans in Michigan not voting at all, given that both candidates are going to be more pro-Israel than pro-Palestine, but to vote Trump when there's no evidence that he wouldn't be even friendlier to Israel than Biden/Harris is a serious eyebrow raiser. He's not a 'wildcard'. His stances on the matter are very much known.

Although Trump would, in one sense, be more likely to bring about peace in Gaza, but the kind of peace you get after one hundred percent ethnic cleansing.

Man incites attack on the US Capitol due to conspiracy theory that he invented and aggressively promoted about the 2020 US election, undermining faith in the electoral process for years to come. It may never recover. This isn't to mention all the other stuff.

Man successfully distracts from that by leaning his head out of McDonalds window.

If that's the standard, then the USA one hundred percent deserves the man. Not just four more years. Forever. Elections cancelled. Strap in.

Trump might "end the war" both in Ukraine and Gaza/Lebanon but it won't be "peace" for the people on the ground that's for damn sure.

    lads. Trump is a genius.

Instead of talking about his many civil and criminal cases, we’re arguing if they were real customers.

That's nothing to do with Trump's genius, and everything to do with the public's idiocy.

But his cases have been talked to death as well. His supporters don't really listen to that either.

Now they're pretending to be impressed by him playing pretend for an afternoon. They know it was fake and are only playing acting that they're shocked and offended by the accusation that it was a fake photo op.

For some reason they keep thinking these tactics somehow help them.

Nothing new, he does that to anyone he can gain from, he'll do it to his followers too.

    Hold a microphone to that guy's face…

"Sir, in light of this personal affront by the former president, will you still be voting for him in the upcoming election?"

"Kamala Harris is a marxist. MAGA 2024, babay."

    "Jesus Christ, OK."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,028 ✭✭✭✭everlast75

MAGA are really pushing for proof of Harris working at McDonald's.

This apparently is a winner for them?

Not entirely sure where the logic is here.

The voting public are supposed to really *really* care about this, and completely ignore the fact that the other candidate is a felon multiple times over, refuses to release his medical records, refuses to release proper tax returns, lied about immigrants eating cats and dogs etcetera etcetera etcetera.

It's just that they throw out any **** hoping it sticks.

We should be long past surprise at how much they're willing to ignore and how obvious the double standards are.

What baffles me is the idea that they think it fools people.

there is certainly a huge irony here alright - pages and pages of mainly pro-Harris supporters talking about Donald serving fries - considering social media appears to be a huge influence on voters it’s no wonder these two candidates are tied - the worst that can happen Trump is that no one talks about him - that’s not likely to happen in the coming weeks at least 😀

    It's mind boggling isn't it.

It's akin to not chopping your little finger off with a hatchet, but deciding to move it higher and chop your whole forearm off instead.

But that's not the entirety of what were discussing though.

We're also discussing how the stunt was a bit ridiculous, fake and self contradicting. We're also discussing how this feeds into the general double standard being applied to the candidates. The whole stunt stems from false claims that Harris won't document a summer job.

What topic should we discuss? Trumps policies? Should we just not talk about Trump at all?

Cause we've tried talking about his obvious racism before, and folks like yourself were also complaining "are you still talking about the cats and dogs thing?"

Again this is a very strange way to sit on the fence.

More like chopping your little finger off with a hatchet, and deciding to move it higher and chop your whole forearm off to stop the bleeding

it’s incredible if you read the quotes in that article from the local ethnic population - their stance on voting Trump is simply based on ………….“hope”- that and an aversion to pride flags apparently.

I’m not surprised to be honest - a conservative president is definitely far more in keeping with their culture than a liberal one and let’s face it, religion and religious beliefs and conservatism is a key focus for a lot of ethnicities who practice their faith regularly

Or... Trump defenders cant defend Trumps policies eg tariffs, so all they have left is trying to spin misinformation that Trump somehow served real customers.

ThIngs like Trump not releasing his medical records also brought up but that doesnt get challenged cos there is no way they can spin that.

If I recall correctly our centrists were going nuts a week or so back when Kamala was spotted having her photo taken on Airforce two at a desk working. There was a huge emphasis put on her as being "fake" because of something to do with earphones?

    So that's Kamala being "fake".

But Trump verifiably and literally shuts down a McDonalds for hours and scripts handing out some chips to some coached and vetted fans, not an actual customer in sight. But that's "genius" apparently.

    Gotcha.👌

I’m not at all sitting on any fence - I’ve expressed my views on who I’d like to win many times here- but - I think from a political “stunt” perspective it was absolute genius -it’s actually one of the few things Trump has done well throughout the entire election - in terms of “double standards” I really don’t get this “hurt” at all - it’s an election - these are election stunts - Had Harris thought of it, she’d have probably donned an apron and went there herself - Trump got there first - it’s frivolity that’s all it is - I don’t understand why people are getting worked up about it that’s all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,992 ✭✭✭ronjo

For the life of me I have no idea why it was considered "absolute genius" but if enough people think so then maybe it was.

Gotta love this, and I think maccy dees will be only too happy to foot the bill, no doubt the biggest advertising slot produced this year, a win win for everybody.

But isn’t obvious at this stage that Trump will admit to nothing - and the vast amount of things he does are indefensible anyway- including his election strategy which bizarrely is still keeping him neck and neck- I don’t feel the need to discuss his serving of fries in detail other than to say I can see how clever the publicity is - the American people don’t appear to be in listening mode this time around - it’s very clear to me they’re going “Red” - Harris is a good candidate- she’s done so much better than anyone would have given her credit for at the start including me- but I just don’t think America is willing to listen- nothing appears to sway them from red - that’s what I’m getting from this election - hence my lack of enthusiasm for giving out about Trump - it’s not my country and apparently a hell of of lot of its citizens don’t care what he does- so why should I? They’ll get the president they deserve is my view at this stage

It’s gone viral - look at this thread and American commentary and newspapers- everyone’s talking about this, not the important issues of the election - of course it’s “genius” from that sense - it’s also only a few weeks to polling day - so Americans now have an image of Trump serving fries to happy people - I mean com’on what more could you ask from your future president🤪

The logical conclusion of that line of thinking is why post at all here then… I don't think that's a good reason to give a free pass here either to Trump's conduct or the misrepresentations made in defence of it.
