    Is that what you think?

I am shocked, stunned and appalled.

Agreed. Brett interrupting her almost every 10 seconds. Really desperate to look tough and agressive. Terrible look for him.

    Harris handled it pretty well.

Glad to see you turning a new leaf. 😊

But you arent going to elaborate I bet. You wont supply any reasons for this opinion as its entirely based on your dislike of Harris and support for Trump. And of course meanwhile you'll continue to have no comment on Trump's recent interviews.

What did Harris say that was worse than Trump dodging questions about Putin?

I'm betting on something like "she sounded fake" or maybe "she didn't sound black enough".

Something vague and hand waving so it doesn't need to be backed up with a nice little whiff of sexism/racism.

Don’t forget she isn’t doing enough press conferences either.

That's the "car crash?" She's peeling donuts around Baier there.

    image.png

    Here's the full interview:

@MisterAnarchy could you tell us the time stamp of where the car crash occurs at?

From the very outset its a terrible look for Fox: they let Trump ramble - sorry, "Weave" for hours and hours without pushback, but here comes this woman of color and this white man can hardy help but constantly try interrupt every word out of her mouth out of the gate. But Harris isn't some doting damsel and she powers right through his blatant efforts to cut her off from having any throughline. By the end she's steamrolling him so well that he claims his producers are screaming in his ear to shut down the interview before she can do more deprogramming of the Fox audience 😂

Harris will only gain, not lose voters as a result of this interview. This was a win win for her.

The section where he tried to corner her on saying half the American people will vote for him etc, she handled that super well and held them to task by playing a soft clip where Trump denied he get said he would use the military on the American people (he did say that), and of course made it about himself.

Harris was well able for Fox, she did her homework.

And again, the idea that he ever had the support of half the country is a perpetual lie. He had the support of 74 million voters in 2020, that was not even a quarter of the population (330 Million), and not half of registered voters (168 Million).

Not only that, his presidency was a complete joke, a good sign of being even a boring president is being re-elected and he failed at that. Pathetically low approval ratings during his term, totally botching Covid, his economic policies were walking towards a recession (economists were in agreement with this), and he totally divided a country.

Look at how he treats his supporters even now with Coachella, leaving them for dust, literally.

This whole campaign is for him to make money, he wants to win to stay out of court and prison.

He couldn't be a 'boring' President, because look at his support on here even, and elsewhere, Nationally and internationally: they love him for his 'entertainment' value, as an 'entertainer' which is how Donald Trump views himself first and foremost. The chaos is by design. His support is usually comprised of people that want to inflict misery on others for example because it made them feel good - that whole 'owning the libs' thing that his 2016 campaign was riddled with, and/or people who want to get 'retribution' at 'the deep state TM' or terrorizing minorities, especially nonwhite immigrants ie. 'illegals. His economic policies were about hurting out-groups and propping up in-groups - a totally untenable and broken way to run an economy, so of course it didn't work. Similarly his Covid response was a disaster because he would rob supplies from one state and hand surplus to another based on the perceived 'loyalty' of that State to him, and it was deeply suspected he actually wanted Covid to rage on because the data was showing out that it had an outsized lethality on minorities (because minorities have much poorer access to healthcare more than anything).

So in his latest interviews, Trump has claimed to "be the father of IVF" talked about the looks of a woman as part of that story, claimed that climate change isn't real, repeated his racist claims about Haitians eating pets and claims he will give Elon Musk a job in his government.

And these were in rallies and on Fox news cause he's too afraid to do interviews elsewhere.

Yet Harris going on Fox is the car crash?

I reckon the Republicans will be echoing that song for a long time after Trump leaves the political stage.

Since you've been gone we can choose whoever we want.

Less chance of voter fraud will surely help the Dems so wont it?

    You’ll never get an answer.

I don’t know why people ask at this stage.

Maybe it’s because she didn’t dance on stage for 30 minutes awkwardly?

That was pretty well done by Harris there. A proper sense of rightious indignation about Trump pissing all over democratic norms while using the very same US Nationalism that Fox contributors would normally wave about as an excuse for stuff.

It won't help sway MAGA folk, but for anyone else it might help.

Trump fans being outraged at Harris getting the ticket over Biden. The same people were probably laughing at Biden's mental capacity before that.

What a time to be alive.

I’d say 7/10 for me. She could have answered a couple of questions more directly.

On the trans question it was a missed opportunity: “he spent 20m on those ads that mean nothing to people!” Was a good comment. But she should have nailed it home that that’s all he has, fake controversy

Trump sways on stage for 40 minutes and your response was praising the playlist. It's like you apply a massive golf handicap to him. 😂

Also somewhat telling that you're dodging discussing your deep state conspiracy again when challenged on it.

Got to love the misunderstanding of the role of those politicians and private citizens. None of the people mentioned are 'Democratic officials.'

Pelosi currently is a Congresswoman. Party doesn't matter - it's the DNC that decide about candidates. If Pelosi would decide to caucus as Independent, she could, and not lose a "Democratic office" that she doesn't hold because it doesn't exist.

Schumer is Senate Majority Leader. FWIW, that's an elected position that's been transformed by the 2 party system but Republican senators could vote for him (I think.) It's not a Constitutionally defined role, nothing in that about parties. Further, he's free to advance legislation to votes for any legislation he wants - he could advance GOP only bills if he wanted (unlikely.) But, he's not an official of the Democratic party - he's more or less an official of the Senate, I don't think, though, that majority/minority leaders are officials defined anywhere but by convention.

The Clintons are private citizens that are registered Democrats, though that's actually not a requirement for anything afaik unless you run for office.

Are they influential? Obviously. I think this misunderstanding is viewing US political party function through Irish eyes, where there are party officials and official party functions (Ard fheisa?) and whatnot.

Harris controlled the interview and didn't fall for his "during your administration" trick tried 3 times in the first 10 minutes and again at 23 minutes. Using Trump's own scheming and the quotes of Trumps own chosen senior administration team, not his re-election team, against him. He appointed Milley as joint chair of the military, Milley wasn't a hangover from the Obama administration.

Interesting body language form Bret in that interview. Hunched forward, tense, not really listening to what she was saying, and seemed to be grinding his teeth/biting his lip when she was talking, just looking at his notes and interjecting.
The questions were kind of loaded and Kamala had to pivot.
Good that she went on Fox, but it wasn’t an exercise in getting information on policy to the public but more of how does she handle a very hostile person. Biden would not have done well in the interview, Trump would have quickly turned sour and walked out after 5 minutes, maybe less.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,639 ✭✭✭✭Igotadose

Agreed. She'll be fine in really hostile meetings, like with hostile world leaders. I don't expect she'll roll on her back for a belly rub like Convicted Felon Trump does with the likes of Orban, Putin, MBS, …

When MAGA supporters are losing their marbles online calling it a car crash etc you know she done a great job!!

Ya, even Fox said she did well.

What was remarkable is that Bret was supposedly the more friendly interviewer Fox proposed for the interview and accepted by Harris & her team. It'll be worth waiting for Trump's response to it published on Truth Social. I can't see Fox permitting it's usual Trump allies to use it's facilities to attack itself over the interview style and image.

The posters who earlier on the thread were making statements about Harris and interviews, about being fed answers, about needing soft interviews from friendly media… the should really go and watch the Kamala Harris interview on FOX.
And ask themselves after watching that interview, whether they should still be giving credence to their social media feeds pumping out the opposite message.

Strange, I see that she performed exceptionally well in a "hostile" interview. I also see that she performed so well that she just became #47 on the back of it.

As in the interviewer failed in the task Fox gave to him?
