Some strong claims from Jonathan Howard & Charlie Keebaugh from the Aerial Recovery Group on the Shaw Ryan Ep 138 (ex seal) Podcast, (its number 3 listened to in the US)

It's a non profit organisations that helps all over the world in time of disaster to drop food & supplies

They have claimed during Hurricane Helene Harris & her team loaded up a C-17 full of supplies just to get a photo op and never had any intention of sending the plane or Aid in , They said the information came from squadron commander in North Carolina

I wonder where there money comes could it be form the Red side,

I think it's based on the recent comments from Obama.

Also, a recent Howard University Initiative on Public Opinion poll of likely black voters in swing states showed 82% intend to vote for Ms Harris, while only 12% support Donald Trump. The survey - carried out in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin - also found however that 21% of black men under 50 years old support the Republican nominee.

    So, hearsay upon hearsay.

And remind us, what did Republicans say about the validity of hearsay evidence…

multiple sources - she seems to have a black male voter problem or a general male voter problem - she is doing ok with female voters and lots of constant talk about abortion etc..but she has neglected issues that appeal to black males e.g. jobs, minority police brutality

obama's call to the brothers to support her was damning last night

that being said the trump campaign have given up on the female vote at this stage

From Murdoch's British Fox News analog? Yeah no thanks.

In 2020 Biden-Harris got 87% of the Black vote, Trump only 12%. And Biden was the 'problematic' one on that ticket: his decades old 'racial jungle' speech, 'you ain't black' gaffe, etc. etc.

To suggest that the Harris-Walz ticket would somehow do significantly poorer than that, or that Trump will suddenly do twice as good as he did in 2020 but only in the swing states, sounds like really funny math and wishful thinking by outlets that have a particular audience that would be interested in being comforted by such fantasies.

And sure enough, the 'poll' they cite is not listed on 538's pollster ratings, indicating it is very likely bunk.

Be pretty easy to clear up , all planes have flight logs,

I live in Ireland i don't have a side in this but its only fair we post when Dem's are under fire for something , What's good for the goose is good for the gander ,

And given the utter torrent of lies and fabrications surrounding the recent weather events it's simply not believable.

It fails the basic "sniff test" - WHY would they do that?

It would be more believable if the claim was that it was a photo-shop job and that they patched her in to an old photo or something - I mean that would still be utter bollocks , but considerably less implausible than a story where they spent hours loading a C17 (which is a BIG plane) involving dozens of ground staff only to have them unload it again and park it up..

    All for a photo-op?????

Trumpers will believe any made up tail about Harris, but they don't believe in government.

To any sane and reasonable person a society without some form of coordination is mere anarchy like the old wild West.

But the problem with fundamentalist individualism is that like anarchy it can't organize, it can only react.

You're with all due respect, deluded if you think the military publishes its flight logs. A fact any charlatan can exploit to make the kinds of claims these charlatans in particular are trying to peddle. In reality, helicopters C17s etc. have been swarming all across western Carolinian airspace for the last 2 weeks: ask me how I know 😲

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,725 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

They need something to deflect from Trump's brick wall dais the other week, the one he diverted people's time and energy to build for his photo op - or similarly the wall of water and diapers and chick fil a etc. that he had built for another photo op. Not to mention the time he threw paper towels at Puerto Ricans, as if a roll of paper towels is what people needed in rescue and recovery: just soak up that flood with Brawny?

It's all noise: if Harris was seen on the ground, in chimney rock, handing out diapers and water etc. they complain about it being 'a photo op' (for security and divestment of resource reasons, to protect a vice president, it would have been reckless though if she had gone to an active disaster zone)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,629 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

    Yes thats entirely it.

The Democrats have taken the black vote for granted for decades and delivered very little in return for the loyalty shown.

Obama made reference to reports claiming that Harris is struggling to mobilise black voters– which the former president says “seems to be more pronounced with the brothers” – and declared that the demographic isn’t OK with the idea of a female president.

"Part of it makes me think – and I’m speaking to men directly – part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that,” he said.

    How insulting and condescending.

    They

They can surely show that the plane actually delivered its goods ?

I guess the question begs why make these claims what do they gain from it ?

I'm not saying they are telling the truth its a legit question , Its a very well ran & successful organisation why make outrageous claims ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,725 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

Really, you can't figure out what MAGA charlatans gain from peddling anti-Harris hoaxes?

    That's enough of that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,950 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

    See that's a problem isn't it ,

You can't write everything down as "MAGA nutters " but believe everything that comes from the other side,

Surely everything needs to be checked on merit or both become as bad,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,725 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

No, that's not how that's worked, either. False again.

But do let me know when you check out their claim for its merit so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,586 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

Pretty sure outside of air force one, planes flight information is generally publicly available. So it would be incredibly easy for the likes of Fox News et al if it had credibility. Instead we just get a rumour that's treated like fact. So the burden of proof falls on proving that there's an actual factual basis rather than proving it's false.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,043 ✭✭✭✭everlast75

Isn't it noticeable how MAGA seek to undermine

    1. science, eg hurricanes, COVID, pasteurised milk, climate change
    2. Education eg banning books, attacking school administrations
    3. News networks/journalists
    4. Elections

It's almost as if they are telling people that absolutely no one, other than trump and his cronies, are to be believed and all other sources are to be disregarded.

Seems to me to be laying solid groundwork to fascism.

NYT running a story that Musk and Trump conspired to regulate content on X.

So, when Trump accused others of election interference..…

The only two Trump fans I know of in real life are dumb conspiracy theorists.

So, two people? Sounds like a solid sample size for drawing conclusions.

You're critical when one black voter talking about how the Black V/P and Presidential nominee is struggling to mobilise black voters saying the demographic isn't OK with the idea of a female president. You mention that the democrats [which include both the former president and the V/P] have taken the black vote for granted and say the former president is insulting and condescending when he says he thinks the brothers are not feeling the idea of having a woman as president.

Do you think he is wrong in his estimate of the brothers not liking the idea of a woman as president? What say you of white men who also do not like the idea of a woman as president: are they all just misogynists?

    How insulting and condescending.

But not insulting and condescending to tell men it's unmanly to drink a vanilla milkshake through a straw? Among the other nonsense espoused in this supercut:

"No real man would EVER vote for Kamala Harris" one talking head even explicitly states, as if to confirm Obama's actual point.

Seems a bit hypocritical, don't you think, as seen in this supercut of how the right wing tries to tell men how manly/unmanly men are based on their entirely made up criteria (often which is utterly BS?)

It's amusing that it's somehow unmanly to drink a milkshake through a straw, and at the same time they say a 'real man' takes responsibility - but as pointed out, Trump said "I take no responsibility," as President. This was something Obama hit Trump for at that rally last night for, by the way, was that condescending too or right on the money?

Seems far more likely that, in spite of your protesting at Obama's cutting remark about men being reluctant to vote a woman into power, he may actually be basing that not on some idle keyboard level supposition but through his various connections he's made along the campaign trail this cycle. But that would be crazy, almost like Barrack Obama is some kind of astute politician and people-person with a pulse on politics!? Surely not!

If, as you seem to have doubts about the claim, the claimants might not have told the truth, then there is no question to answer. As for why anyone would tell porkies about the plane, S**t-stirring is one obvious answer as the presidential race is on.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

I assume the answer is somewhere in the ballpark of more votes for Trump - whilst tactics whatever they are reflect on the candidate for me, if it gets him into the Oval Office then that’s a reflection of America right now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,725 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

Speaking of drawing conclusions from small or even non-existent sample sizes, are you just running away from your sample-free claim of Kamala Harris 'putting on an accent' at the Univision town hall? 😶

(Most) prior Republican candidates and winners of the office would have never tolerated those kind of gimmicks to get elected. Like McCain who shut down his supporters from pushing the 'Obama is an Arab' hoax. But with Trump it's anything goes, the Roy Cohn method, and if you need to shoot someone on 5th avenue to get elected, well that's what you'll do. The base has been conditioned to believe the Democrats are baby-blood drinking hellspawns and that literally anything goes as long as the outcome is attained that they want (a right wing theocratic dictatorship). It's Machiavellianism, the 3rd face of the dark triad (along with Narcissism and Psychopathy). 'the ends justify any means.' Even Jesus is just 'liberal talking points' now. So lying about aid drops and spreading hoaxes about hurricanes? That's just Tuesday. Some rallygoers even openly tell interviewers these days they know eg. Trump is a serial liar, but say that's the point.
