Trump fans don't require facts. Facts don't tend to matter when it comes to faith, and he's their God now, so no facts are required.

It's why they won't debate or listen to reason. They have faith, and faith will sustain them, and guide them into the arms of Trump, so no debate or reason is required.

"Hurricane's are caused by Democrats". - "Do you not know how powerful hurricane's are, and that the combined efforts of humanity couldn't muster a hundredth of it's power?" - Don't care, Democrats have caused it". It's the type of demented thinking that's among the Trump faithful.

It's the evangelical playbook. Make people feel like they don't need reason, don't need facts to dissuade them form the path, that as long as they have faith, then everything will be fine.

To be fair it's a powerful tool. It offers you hope, says everything will be fine, you're going to be part of a group, you belong, you're one of us, and your faith will be rewarded. There's a reason why religion is popular and cults exist.

But it requires that you just don't question things or think for yourself to make it work.

And Trumpism is a cult, with the Tangerine Tyrant as God. Logically speaking, no-one would vote for a rapist, racist, family ignoring, repeatedly bankrupt, stupid, ignorant, compliment-me-to-play-me-like-a-fiddle, compulsive liar, mentally degenerative conman, but when it becomes intertwined with religion then it doesn't matter because they have faith, and faith will sustain them.

It would be a disaster for America, and the world, should Trump win again. Not because of Trump, who's a rambling mess at the minute, but because it will show that the stupid/religious axis now controls America.

On the flip side, him winning might just see the end of America, and if it does it might just force Americans to confront the reality of their decline into moronic religious subservience.

Calling them good folk or degenerates is all the one to them, making the richer or poorer doesn't matter, they have Trump to guide them and believe them, and that's all that matters.

Either way, you can't reason with pride in stupidity turned into blind faith, which is what essentially MAGA is. There's no point in trying.

Your question is unreasonable as you're well aware me or anyone else on this thread don't have specifics on the policy that hasn't been fully revealed. We have outline details which I've presented.

What we do know is both the leading candidates for both president and vice president understand without US funding the war can't continue.

Do you dispute that assumption, that the war can't continue without American funding?

Will you avoid that question for some reason? If so, why?

Trump is right to pull any support of Ukraine. It will only escalate and there is no reason to support to Slavic countries much like the middle east always at each other throat.

And apparently his one selling point is that he'd simply not do anything for national security. He'd just stop funding things they don't like. Which doesn't seem like it requires any special skills or abilities.

Yes, but have you considered that Russia has come to deliver Europe from such woke nonsense as criminalising domestic abuse or de gheys being able to live freely without being the target of a "safari"?

You see, they'd lose their safe space friends when they did that. Just like back in secondary school when they realized there really were other students who were better at it than them, who wouldn't accept them, so they gravitated to those who would, who were the less intelligent/athletic/attractive to the sex they were interested in. And, as life went on and they underachieved, they again found others who felt the same way. Politicians fed on this, with the rise of social media we got the likes of Convicted Felon Trump and his gripe-fest rallies, they felt right at home, because the people standing next to them in line waiting hours to get in, had the same stories. Plus, as lifelong underachievers, they were easily gulled into believing the race-baiting/'othering' lies. It doesn't help that unfortunately in places like America there is a strong religious influence, and 'othering' has been an important part of religious indoctrination for millennia.

Even more pathetic are those who can't vote in a US election regurgitating the Convicted Felon Trump fantasies, in order to, well, get their jollies.

Now, in their online smoke-filled rooms, they're rejoicing in the trolling they do and probably practice on each other. If they stopped trolling and realized just how wrong they are, they'd have nothing.

I'm not sure how much money the US is giving Russia at the moment, I'd imagine it's a significant amount, Europe is also funding both sides.

We can give out about Putin until the cows come home but Ireland and the rest of the EU are supporting the Russian economy right throughout the war by continuing to trade with them.

I said reconstruction because that's how I'd imagine it will be spun to the people, you can imagine Trump taking about how wonderful a country Ukraine is going to be, wouldn't even surprise me if he decides to open a golf course with the most amazing hotel.

But Trump has had ample opportunity to detail the specifics beyond vague slogans and ridiculous claims. He hasn't.

I am aware that you don't know the specifics, but my question was for you to explain why you believe that he would be capable of ending the war despite not knowing the specifics. You can't answer this either it seems.

I also asked you if you believed it would be a good thing if he simply cut funding and allowed Russia to conquer Ukraine. You didn't answer that either. None of my questions are unreasonable, you just don't want to answer them.

I also asked you to explain why you don't want to answer them. You didn't answer this either.

Yet now you're demanding I answer your question.

Yes, I dispute the assumption that the war can't continue without American funding. If Trump simply stopped all funding, the war would continue. It would be more difficult for Ukraine and it would embolden Russia. Ukraine is not likely to simply roll over and surrender to Russia immediately. It might make it more likely that they will lose, but I believe that would be a bad thing for Ukraine and in the long run, the world.

If Trump simply cut off funding and allowed Russia to finish it's invasion, would you consider this a good thing? Would you consider this an accomplishment for Trump?

A bit like Trumps health care policy.

9 years and he has planned to have a plan about a plan?

I guess in fairness, any commentary on the state of Donnie's "marriage" with Melania is based on mostly just observations we've all seen in relation to her. There's no hard evidence that she hates him and that a divorce is on the cards if he loses next month. But…there's plenty there for a very well educated guess that thier relatioship is bereft of life and pining for the fjords.

It's very much down to Donnie's form with women. He'll marry a (typically Eastern European) trophy wife and then proceed to cheat on them the moment they start producing children for him. Since he's a selfish bell-end he clearly has no issue with cheating on his current wife, regardless of who it is at the moment. It would be surprising if Melania sticks it out with him since his marriages don't seem to last.

As for Melania herself, we have not seen someone who presents herself as a person who even likes being in the same room as him, let alone be anywhere near as engaged as your typical First Lady. During her tenure in the role we barely saw her beyond a couple of token appearances, the infamous "I don't care" jacket visit to the border and her incredibly half-assed "Be Best" Initiative that didn't appear to really do anything. She didn't seem to want to be there, and it appeared that she did her best to avoid being in DC with Donnie. Her contribution to the campaign so far amounts to that half-assed book we've discussed before.

We really won't know how things actually are between those two until after the fact, but all signs point to a marriage that has long since devolved into a transactional relationship between a couple of neighbours who happen to have a kid together.

MAGA idiots didn't inject enough bleach or take enough Ivermectin. So the next stage is to get them to drink unpasteurised milk.

Jesus, we've been pasteurisng milk for a good reason, literally for centuries.

That is a fundamental issue with Trump - He is unable to provide specifics about ANYTHING.

"I'll end the War in Ukraine!"

    How ?

"I'm not telling you , but I'd to just talk to them both and it will be over in a day!"

    "I'll replace Obamacare!!"

    How?

"We are beginning to have an outline of a plan"

"I'll reduce inflation to Zero immediately!"

    How?

    "Ummm..Tariffs!!"

    How will tariffs reduce inflation?

"We'll have so much money we won't know what to do!!"

"I'll reduce the cost of a gallon of Gas instantly!"

    How?

    "Drill baby Drill!!"

But it would take years and years for any new Drilling licenses to come online and actually impact Oil prices?

    "Ummm… Drill baby Drill!!!!!"

But apparently , Harris needs be be more specific on her policies.

Resorting to mocking appearance is a move for people lacking the strength to attack anything of substance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,992 ✭✭✭ronjo

Stop lying. I am not mocking his appearance. Why would you say that?? Maybe he was ill and felt he needed some colour but it was very strange but there is no way he could have wanted to look such a different colour to usual surely?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,485 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

Rather ironic given the numerous occurrences of Trump mocking people's appearance and personal insults…
Something you seem to have adopted a "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" policy about when it comes to Trump.

But sure, prove me wrong, can we look forward to you rolling out the same line next time Trump issues such insults?

I really wish the question had been put to Trump that, if he could end the war in one day or with one phone call because he wants the killing and destruction to stop, why hasn't he offered to work with the Biden Administration to accomplish this regardless of who is the actual President? Why hasn't he offered help and support on this?

I mean if he was so sure he could actually achieve that, firstly he could easily use it afterwards as to why he should be elected President, and secondly he'd then be a shoe-in for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Unless of course, he only has concepts of a plan on how he'd achieve it…

Do you really believe that, because if so, your support for Trump seems extremely hypocritical

Trump is a good favourite now with betfair exchange.

Some turnaround since the TV debate. If he doesn’t do any more debates it's his to lose.

Trump has mocked people over their menstrual cycle, appearance and even disability. But strangely you don't hold the same view on him. But you're right, he lacks the strength to attack anything of substance. He's a bully.

We have a pretty good idea of what he'll do. He'll let Putin have whatever areas he wants. Putin will commit genocide in those areas as part of Russification. He'd also have to get Ukraine to agree to it which they're unlikely to, for very good reason.

So Trump will be Putin's puppet and some people such as yourself love that idea.

There's that , but also because he doesn't really care about anyone other than himself

Just like his efforts to block the border deal in Congress - He doesn't actually care about any of it , he just wants it as something he can use to berate his opponents about.

He is entirely transactional and everything is a zero sum game for him.

So the idea of "helping" others without an immediate and instant benefit for him (and EXCLUSIVELY for him) is utterly alien to him.

If he was to lend his "skills" to ending the war in Ukraine while Biden was in office , some of the praise might go to other people which he could not allow , so he'd rather allow people to continue to suffer so that he's the one that gets all the credit , because that's all that matters to

Amongst the long list of awards Wikipedia lists him as awarded:

Two-time Gallup Poll Most Admired Man (2019 – shared with Barack Obama, 2020)[47]

    Full list for the interested.

Also, this would win him the election out and out. If he was that capable of negotiating a genuine peace rather than arranging an acceptable genocide.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,591 ✭✭✭✭Penn

Absolutely, it's why I more so just wish the actual question had been put to him to force him to try and answer it. I mean sure, he'd probably do "the weave" and talk about tariffs, then baseball cards, then how nobody has ever heard of this thing called "electricity" but he understands it perfectly, then the Olympics, then the jeep in Jurassic Park, and then just say it was a nasty question and threaten to have the journalist's news organisation banned, but I'd have liked to have seen him asked the question regardless.

But no one "fears" these things. They're just examples of very silly things that a Trump ally has claimed which seems to get a pass from you folks.

You and your fellow Trump supporters are not permitted to just say that these claims are silly and that Greene and her types should be kept out of positions of power. Cause… ya know… of the comparisons this will bring.

Trump is running away from ABC, CBS and now even Fox News. What are you on about??

    Same pattern we keep seeing.

Come up with fake criticism and throw it out despite the obvious.

Now we're in the phase where people point out how it's false and highlight how Trump is actually doing what they accuse Harris if while the Trump supporter ignores all of it.

I'm sorry, do you actually belive he could end the war in 24hrs?

Seriously? But he's letting people die because he wants to keep his magic beans a big secret???

It's all about money, didn't Zelenskyy take a tour of a weapons manufacturers in Biden's home town on his recent tour of the swing states.

To assume Trump can't find a way to profit from peace does not reflect the down tick of conflict and bridge building during his 1st term.

I'm sure he's a good dad and grandfather, to say there's no honour, decency or morality there is strange.
