Surprisingly I was very sanguine? No 2FA but I don't think that makes any difference here. If it was a scam then the scammer aimed to high and the bank wanted verification. I have a specific account for Amazon use only so there is a limit to how much I could loose.

2FA is an issue for me as there is no mobile coverage here.

You might know (or at least it might help other people who read this), one can use a 2FA app like Aegis, for the 2FA so lack of a mobile signal is not an issue, assuming at home and on Wifi.

Amazon allows 2-step verification with popular one-time token apps like Google Authenticator and the likes, no mobile coverage needed.

Anyone got any idea why I have this address in my Amazon delivery addresses?

    • 68 Tanners Drive
    • Suite #D533928
    • Milton Keynes, MK14 5BP
    • United Kingdom
    • Phone: 0871230443

Is it an old addresspal address or something?

Its in my list of addresses and I don't remember adding it?

I say, first change your password and then check your order history.

From the way it's formatted and a quick google search it's a company called Reship that offers forwarding services in UK, US and Canada.

So if you did not add it, than I would really check your order history and login history.

I'm getting fed up changing my password, but I've done it yet again. Its half random and 21 mixed characters.

Add 2 Factor via a one time password app like google authenticator or the likes that is a pain for a while but really makes a difference if you suspect someone else uses your account. You can also log everyone out when your first set the authenticator forcing everyone to reauthorize.

Amazon send me a code to my email account every time I log in anyway.

Changed password after the £1k transaction and again since. Good password and I think because I use a VPN Amazon send the code each time.

Spent sometime checking for root kits and found nothing. Transactions seem to occur if I leave a session logged in and I leave it for an hour or so?

I think it might be internal to Amazon. One reason being the way the rep dealt with it when I asked about a second unauthorized transaction. Can't remember why I checked but I noticed a cancelled order for an iPhone that was to be delivered to the address above. The rep just said it not to worry about it as that sort of thing happened sometimes 😲

I have some books to let go of. Before Brexit I used to be able to post a box over to the UK , and sell via Fulfilled by Amazon. It was easy enough - someone would buy a book and Amazon did all the packaging and shipping.

Now that Amazon is planning on having a dedicated Irish website (2025) I wonder if I'd be able to avail of FBA to sell when that happens?

Just wondering if anyone knows if you get the same subscription of music through Amazon prime as you do with Amazon Music?

My wife has Amazon music and with it you get everything that they have but you pay extra for it. With prime music you get a limited selection and its "free" as you are paying for Prime.

To return an item containing Li-Ion batteries to Amazon, you will need to use a courier service that allows shipping of hazardous materials, as An Post does not accept these items. Couriers like DHL, FedEx, and UPS generally accept items with Li-Ion batteries, but they may have specific packaging requirements due to safety regulations. It's important to check with the courier first and ensure the item is properly packaged according to IATA guidelines for battery transport. You can also contact Amazon customer service for advice on their preferred couriers for such returns.

    Hi Folks,

so until now it was always "buy item sold directly by amazon, get a free return to ireland warehouse". I was just stung by change in this policy…item sold and dispatched by amazon, yet return envelope is "paid by me" to UK LOCATION and refund of 9£ offered (so exactly same as usual mess with amazon marketplace orders).

    Any idea what happened?

I thought amazon was expanding business in Ireland to make it more customer friendly? (Irish warehouse initiative etc)

    Rgds,

    Bogdan

I had an item to return to amazon yesterday. Item cost was £19.99. The return label was for a UK address. It's an awkward size and An Post said it would be €22 to post. Amazon said they'd cover up to £9 of the return cost. I contacted support asking them if they would cover the extra. They said that due to the low value of the item they would just refund it and I didn't have to return.

So you could try that approach?

No problem using the post office if the return is to the portlaoise depot

They won't issue a label if its LI, and An Post won't accept them.

    Folks,

Just wondering if anyone else has such unbelievable bad luck with delivering to goods to France?? I have 2 sons over there and

from time to time I order things they need. So far, NONE, have gone wrong. Amazon always appear to have all the solutions but the absolute one thing they cannot seem to get right is an alternative way to ask the customer is what plan B should be if a delivery fails. It does ask the customer when ordering if there is any other information important for the courier and they NEVER seem to read it. They never seem to use the phone number given either. What the FCUK is the point .? This is my 3ed disaster , I spend hours trying to resolve this from afar. The one thing that they always fail at is giving more information as to what went wrong. They don't seem to give the couriers the option to communicate with the sender. Just the stupid standard nonsense, your left none the wiser. This is with amazon I'm talking about. Has anyone else had the same experience?

Folks, quick question. I know Amazon factors in Irish VAT, but I recall that when a consignment exceeds €150 in value there is some potential customs fee as well.

I'm looking at buying 2 tablets at €121 each. When I change the quantity to 2, it shows a smaller price for the items and adds an "Import Fees Deposit" instead. While the final price looks roughly correct (i.e. twice the price of 1 tablet) I'm wondering if this "Import" stuff means it could be eligible for customs charges too.

    Should I order them separately?

If they are sold and or dispatched from Amazon the final price you see is the price you pay. Tablets/ phones etc are exempt from the €150 limit so the only difference you should be paying is the extra couple of % between UK and Irish VAT

Don’t think they are exempt from the €150 limit as such but will likely have a zero rate of duty so same end result.

The potential customs fee for orders >€150 depends on what you're buying. Laptops are exempt anyway - I bought one from Amazon last year. All physical media - books, records, CDs, BDs - don't incur anything extra.

Main thing is that item is "delivered by" Amazon. If it's a third party then all bets are off.

Twice in the past 24 hours I've had notifications of delayed deliveries, both delayed to the only day of the week I can't guarantee someone will be home. Both times customer services have arranged next day delivery and both times they've said I'll get £5 Amazon credit

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,957 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

Had you paid for delivery? Why were they able to push it to next day I wonder?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,273 ✭✭✭✭Caranica

I have prime. According to the tracking the stuff had arrived in the country, I'm guessing it was just trying to manage drivers loads and someone else got bumped. The annoying thing is I got an Amazon delivery earlier, they just didn't bundle the stuff together.

Same here. A Prime delivery scheduled for Friday got bumped to Monday but arrived at 8.00pm this evening.
