Anyone on this thread know where decent deals can be got? I have a landroid worx 1000m2 ....don't mind yhe boundary wire...looking for maybe some smaller ones for separate lawns...find them a great work saver

But they 300m2 ones seem expensive compared to the 1000m2 one I got from German amazon for 800 euros

Yuka mower picks up leaves as far as I'm aware

My Luba is set low and does a decent job of mulching the leaves so far

Got my Luba garage today. Simple to install. Weather holding up ok for thr moment so will leave it out for another while. Im set at 35mm cut for now. I went to 40mm for a few weeks earlier but found the wheel tracks were more pronounced.

I know some husq owners leave there machines out all winter but the 4 wheel drive luba may end up ploughing up the grass especially where it turns on slopes.

Is that a luba or luba 2?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 895 ✭✭✭pajoguy

    Luba 2 5000.

Thanks, just wondering if luba 2 is much better than original luba

Can anyone recommend a cable testing tool to help me find a break in my loop wire? And also, any recommended sites to buy connectors? First cable issue in two years… can't complain with that.

My Flymo is coming to the end of its 4th cutting session without any issues, except a wheel. The rubber on just one wheel perished, and looking for a cheap solution, I got a colleague to print one.

    350.jpg

That worked like a charm for 6 months then it broke, so I held it together with screws while I sourced an OEM part.

    345.jpg

This is when I got for £34.40 delivered.

    349.jpg

I changed the blades and cleaned the shell.

Before setting it away to test.

Anyone recommend a source to get a replacement battery for a Gardena R130lic. I'm guessing that's the issue as the mower dies in the middle of the garden with no response on screen but once pop back in to charging station it comes back on. Just doesn't seem to be taking a proper charge.

Also been googling for replacements and it seems the one in the mower is 2000 mah but a lot of replacements are 3400 mah, would this be an issue or just a case of longer running and charging time?

Folks, time of year question again, how late do people leave their mowers out. Understand that is a question with many variables. Given rain mine has been off the last week but is out today and will hope to leave out for next few days if reasonably dry and may then wrap up for a few months . I find I do the first cut with my walk behind in the new year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 895 ✭✭✭pajoguy

My first year with this dilemma. It has been very dry the last 4 days so I have not pulled the plug yet. Luba 2 so the 4 wheel drive chews a bit on some slopes so have adjusted the boundary. I will bring it indoors if frost is forecasted.

    Jesus this grass won’t stop growing…. :)

Mild October I guess but I could see another 3-4 weeks until it’s put away for the winter.

Chap over n the weather forum is predicting another 2 weeks of dry mild weather

I had mine out until December 23rd last year.

Wouldn't be in the least surprised if that's repeated this year.

Grass is growing constantly and no sign of that stopping for the foreseeable future

Yes, grass still growing here in Mayo at least. Will be cutting for another couple of weeks at least.

Question, the power to my charging station of my husqavarna 430x (2017) seems to loose power every so week or for the past few months. The green power light in the housing stops lighting. When i simply turn off/on the power to the transformer (either by the socket or by the switch board) the power comes back and its back working. Then it works for a number of days/weeks before it happens again.

Is this a fault with transformer or with cabling or other?

    Thanks

The most impressive thing about that post is that you were cutting that lawn with a push mower.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 400 ✭✭AhhHere

Landroid said it had a battery issue this morning. Wondering if it's the cold snap causing it?

It's first winter so maybe left it out too long. Didn't know it had to come inside if perfectly honest. Is that the Norm?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,948 ✭✭✭✭DrPhilG

I was told that my mowers (Kress) should come in when it starts to get frosty. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the reason for your issue, batteries don't like extremes of temperatures.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 400 ✭✭AhhHere

Thanks. Brought it in which hopefully solves that issue.

I have had a 450X for the past 7 years, mower has been nearly faultless but its at the stage now when you can see the wear coming onto it.

I've seen a Black Friday special from Irish Mowers for 2075 sterling ex vat but was wondering was this genuine? Has anyone bought from Irish Mowers in the past? I think their parent company is AM Rentals in Newry.

gonna put mine in the weekend, wil prob need to give the grass a cut with normal mower at some point.

At this time of year it just ends up getting clogged with wet grass. Second season with Hus 315 x. Will get it out early next year as warranty runs out in April I think so want it well tested before next season.

What do you folks do with your docking stations through the winter, anything needed? I was going to just coat the terminals with a bit of dielectric grease but I could wrap some plastic around them too if needed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,259 ✭✭✭MBSnr

I just put a large plastic storage tub over the dock, with a brick on top.

EDIT: I see you bought some..

    Anyhow for anyone else.

I bought the brush kit for the 430X. It kinda works… For a while, while it's not that wet, it keeps the wheels fairly clean and you will find that the mud/muck actually accumulates on the side of the wheels as a layer. Have to spin the wheels with your finger on the inside to clean it off. But you are only likely to get 4-6 wks out of the brush before it's pretty much doing nothing as the wheel has worn it away/separated it. Also if it's really wet, then the wheel will just pickup cut grass anyhow as the brushes aren't able to deal with that.

I got the brushes from https://www.gplshop.co.uk/en/wheel-brush-kit-320-330x-420-430x-etc.

Actually a Swedish shop that ships from Sweden, so no Brexit customs issues but the postage is steep. I was buying other stuff at the same time, so it worked for me.

Once you have the holders you can buy this from Screwfix to use as refills. https://www.screwfix.ie/p/stormguard-heavy-duty-brush-seal-aluminium-0-91m/14354

Just cut it down to the same length as the originals, using a pair or wire cutters - which also bends over the ends, sealing them. The bristles are not as strong as the Husqvarna originals, so it tends to only last a few weeks.

Oh that Screwfix tip is brilliant, nice one !

    Thanks!

Thanks! You'll get about 20 plus of them from one strip. Would be nicer to find a strip that has stiffer brush though.

See how you get on. I got lazy and once the wet had passed, I didn't bother swapping them out as much as I was.

Also you'd find you will have to cut the old used brushes down close to the metal carrier just to get them out of the plastic holders, as they are completely bunged up with grass and mud.

I’ve been thinking about getting a smart lawn mower lately. Was originally looking at Mammotion and Navimow, but honestly, they’re just way too pricey for me.

Then I saw a KS project that just ended called ANTHBOT Genie. The price is super reasonable, and it’s got four cameras, makes it look super stable to use. Plus, I checked out their setup video—it seems so easy to get started. Anyone here familiar with ANTHBOT who can tell me if it’s worth buying? Thanks for the valuable comment in advance! https://www.anthbot.com

looking at a mower for family. I have the H series navimow, generally happy, took some tweaking at start and needed spikes to attach to wheels but good now. Seen there is an iSeries now to add to choice. Any reason not to go Navimow again?

800m size will be more than enough

    😎
