I watched it as well and enjoyed it. It definitely was so much smaller and the judges were sitting on top of each other.

I'm a relatively new viewer of Strictly, overall. I wish I had watched a lot more over the years.

Mr Pernice handed the inquiry a dossier of screenshots of WhatsApp messages between the pair, in which she gushes at how helpful he has been, how much she likes him and apologises to him.

It is said to be clear from the evidence that Mr Pernice had found himself managing 'vulnerable' Abbington's 'emotions on many occasions'. The decision, however, left bosses with another headache - how would they present the findings without having to imply in any way that they thought the actress was lying?

'The problem they had was how on earth would they deliver it without having to basically say that she has been out to get Giovanni. Everything is so thin.' And BBC bosses pointed out that it wouldn't be a great 'look' for the Corporation to take the side of a man and risk implying they hadn't believed the female accuser.

This view is said to have been exacerbated by the broadcaster's increasingly woke agenda that has engulfed its employees in recent years.

'The thought of telling the world that they didn't believe a woman would go against absolutely every bit of their DNA. Imagine having to imply that a woman is a fantasist. That is just so un-BBC. It is a nightmare, an utter mess.'

While Abbington is said to have known she was facing the reality that the inquiry was not going to go her way, she was reportedly crestfallen. She had, after all, made several claims, including one that her dance partner had bruised her foot during training.

But now it can be revealed that she is so determined to win her case that she is having what friends of Mr Pernice describe as 'one last throw of the dice' by telling the BBC about a short video clip he sent to her on WhatsApp. Sources within the Corporation say it is 'sex-related' but in its nature was 'very much banter'.

And apparently, at the time Mr Pernice shared it, Abbington found it funny. At that point they were friends and getting on well, his supporters claim.

'The clip was the sort of thing that might be shared around a group on a stag-do. It has a sexual theme but all very jokey. Yet if someone wants to say they are offended by it, that's their right.' Friends of Mr Pernice insist that she found it amusing at the time and it didn't seem inappropriate to him.

Strictly sources also say Abbington had shown the clip to investigators earlier this year but felt that she could raise it again as it was the only evidence against him that would stick. It was presented to Mr Pernice earlier this summer among the dossier of the actress's claims.

'This is literally the last thing that Amanda has got, so, of course, she will be hoping that it sticks. It's the only thing that is in any way tangible against Giovanni.' It is understood that the video no longer exists but messages concerning it may do. As such it isn't known if the BBC has seen it.

As if the headache for the Corporation couldn't get any worse, it was a BBC employee who sent it to Mr Pernice. This leaves the investigation in a precarious position.

Is it really a case of believing her when their training sessions are recorded? or do they not record all the training sessions?

Just read that Kai has been benched. No idea if true or false. Disappointed if it is true, because he is one of my favourites.

Ouch. I'd forgotten about Artem. He didn't exactly get dud partners for most of his time on Strictly.

I'm rapidly losing interest in this year's series before it's even begun

I remember catching an episode of Total Bellas (I think that was the name, reality show about wrestling sisters) as i was flicking through the channels and he popped up. Not on strictly for very long but seems to have done well on DWTS. Until now anyway.

Yeah, I couldn't remember his results on strictly. It seems like a lifetime ago he was on it.

Vito is on Celebrity Masterchef now. BBC1.

I don't whether it says more about Boards or Strictly that no one has posted this evening!

I'm quite ho hum about it this year. The accusations & lack of a finished report leave a bad taste in the mouth.

Some nice things on the launch show: Craig's beard, dance to welcome Amy back. Alijaz delighted to be back. Neil has a partner.

Great to have Aljaz back and to see Amy back dancing too. Looking forward to it starting properly next week - the first week is always a bit boring with all the chatting. They seem like an interesting bunch this year. Main disappointment is that Lauren doesn't have a partner.

Please please don't click on the spoiler if you don't want to know 😉.
And don't say anything that gives it away. 😁

Tom versus Toyah in the dance off. Tom went home.

Could never ever in a million years get tired of watching Vito perform the paso. Love it.

So impressed with Chris McCausland....I'm ashamed of myself to think he'd be rubbish, he's definitely proved me wrong and I'm delighted....that will teach me not to be judgmental in the future!

I love how he and Dianne are getting on, at a personal level also. Laughing their heads off together.

Just switched on the results show in the middle of the opening dance and thought, "god they've really put Nick Knowles front and centre - they must have a lot of faith in him!". Only realised at the finale that is was Craig.

    Toyah needs to go

I missed the main show last night, so just caught up with the results show late tonight - did i miss anything amazing?

I loved the opening number tonight, apart from the Craig schtick, and who thought it was a good idea to send the girls out in black popsocks?

I was full sure (based on the 10 second clips I saw) that Toyah would be a gonner.... Tom looked seriously unimpressed!!

I too am amazed at Chris McCausland so far - I just can't imagine how, or even why, he does it - but bloody hell, he's good!

They're nice bunch this time, I'm looking forward to getting to know them (as usual, I've heard of about 5 of them). Is there a record number of sportspeople/olympians this time?

In a new statement, the BBC has apologised to Amanda, noting that it had assessed and upheld “some, but not all, of the complaints made”.

"We have assessed the complaints and we have upheld some, but not all, of the complaints made. We want to apologise to Amanda Abbington and to thank her for coming forward and taking part. We know this would not have been an easy thing to do."

According to PA, there were no findings relating to physical aggression, however, complaints of verbal bullying and harassment have been upheld.

So essentially, she got upset over some bad language and swearing.

The ratings are down by about a million ,the bbc need a mainstream family program that gets good ratings

They now have someone with all the dancers in order to gaurd against people being abused .

it must be tough for the celebs training dancing for hours every day especially if you are over the age of 40 .

i watched it once .this program has a usa version dancing with the stars .i think the american version is better ,it has real singers singing live as the dancers dance sometimes.

i,m suprised toyah wilcox is doing this now she is over sixty years old.she was a big pop star in the 80s.

The British version has all live music and singing as well.

I only watched one episode .I don't like how the female judge interrupted the other judge before he was able to give his verdict .I think the American version looks better but they probably have a bigger budget . I only know toyah and Nick Knowles I presume the other celeb dancers are from reality tv or old tv shows I never heard of them .
