    You never know, your wish might come true one of these years!

    I had seen that list from The Sun on another forum yesterday, but there's been so many rumours, it's hard to know what's accurate.

    I definitely don't know some of them, on that list. That doesn't bother me though. There's always some I don't know. I like seeing how they get on, and seeing what they are like, whether I knew of them before that, or not.

    Jamie won the Christmas special, so it will be interesting to see how he gets on.

    That's true. Oh man, but Nigel having to leave the way he did, broke my heart! He and Katya were my favourite couple last year.

    Same here, I might know some from soaps, only if they are a long time around though, because I don't know newer soap characters. Anyone from Love Island/ TOWIE etc, I haven't a clue. That's why I like to see the reveals to know a small bit about them. And we get to know them anyway as the weeks go by.

    Never knew who Hamza was before Strictly, and away he went and won it. 😁

    Just now realising Pete Wicks is a totally separate person to Joe Wicks!

    I don't really care about their fame levels, I'd be happy if the show had random members of the public. I'm never going to know anyone from Love Island/TOWIE, etc, but they will often be the best known!

    Looking forward to Jamie Borthwick though, if he's confirmed.

    Same here. He was great on the Christmas one, and seems like a lovely guy.

    I see posters on another forum raving about Pete Wicks, I'm not much wiser. But I'm the same, I don't care. They all bring something to the programme, and it's always interesting to see the pairings too.

    Same. Tbh, I'm not sure how pushed I am about it this year. My interest has been waning for the past couple of years anyway, and the lack of actual celebrities coupled with all the problematic behaviour being reported has very much dampened my enthusiasm for this series.

    BBC4 is showing the first ever episode of Strictly tonight.

    I didn't watch consistently in the first couple of seasons so I'm going to watch and see how it all began.

    Final three officially confirmed.

    Nick Knowles was the first of the three to be unveiled on The One Show sofa today. He's best known as the face of DIY SOS as well as hosting other shows such as Break The Safe, 5-Star Family Reunion and Who Dares Wins.

    The second name to be revealed on The One Show was footballing legend Paul Merson who found success as an attacking midfielder. He now works as a commentator and sports television pundit for Sky Sports.

    The third and final name announced and completing the Strictly 2024 line-up is Olympic hockey champion Sam Quek. She won gold as part of the British team at the 2016 Summer Olympics and has gone on to work as a television presenter on various shows like Field Hockey on BT Sport, The NFL Show on Channel 5, as well as football on Channel 4.

    Paul Merson - for a minute I read that as Paul Merton!.

    There's supposed to have been some further developments, I read somewhere today that Amanda recently handed over more messages or something. It was a very sensational headline - I didn't read any further.

    Meanwhile Graziano has had an interview with the Daily Mail complete with video, along the lines of 'my foot may have slipped. If I did kick anyone, I'm sorry…'

    I'm paraphrasing, but that was the gist of it.

    I kinda wanted it dealt with before this series started. I wonder should I write to the BBC asking them to expedite it 😄. Its bad enough Gio isn't going to be there, but I need to know whether he was abusive or not to decide how I move on 😃

    I watched the first ever episode on BBC4 - I didn't watch that series at all, and I didn't start watching properly until series 3. It was missing the sparkle, but so much more realistic in performances, which was great. Tess looked so young and beautiful, but awful dated personal styling (eyebrows!) even compared to the female contestants.

    It all felt very small, with the judges on top of each other. Did they do pro dances back then (there were none on this episode)? Mainly, though, the film quality was just incredibly poor and grainy - hard to believe it was only 20 years ago. Plenty of other repeats and clips from further back are better quality.
