You haven't really added to much. Most of the complaints I have seen (not all from you) are not popular. Hard to really say given the hatred of Trump but having grown in the polls so quickly makes it hard to really defend that position. Only way to tell would be for Republicans to find a less hated candidate.

Unqualified, ehhhh. Wut? She was vp for 4 years and not a single race has had two previous presidents battling so this is not a thing here.

Communist: come on. This is just dumb.

    Racist level Kampala.

I haven't seen anyone mention anything on this thread that has landed.

The issue is it is a 2 horse race and the other option is Trump. I mean I am sure prime Messi has flaws as a player but if the only other candidate for a best footballer award is me then it becomes hard to argue them as the elephant in the room is just the gap is too massive that it just seems like sour grapes. Like yeah he could be taller but is that really relevant in this 2 horse race against someone who doesn't even play very much?

It's a variant on the, 'both sides equally bad' refrain, doesn't stick.

In a two person race, who is the better candidate should be the priority. So for all her faults, Harris is light-years ahead of her opponent and that's absolutely relevant.

That "boost" for the campaign, as viewed by top GOP donors:

    https://www.mediaite.com/news/is-trump-trying-to-lose-top-gop-donor-rips-trumps-self-destructive-embrace-of-rfk-jr-and-tulsi-gabbard/

His email to President Trump read,

"Yesterday, the Trump campaign proudly announced that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard endorsed the former President and are being added to his transition team. It is hard to imagine a more self-destructive announcement.

"RFK is an anti-vax kook who sees conspiracies behind every tree and under every bed, and Gabbard is the former vice- chair of the DNC and co-chair of the 2016 Bernie Sanders for President campaign She endorsed Sanders because of his “sound judgment” on foreign policy which she believed would “usher in a new era of peace and prosperity.” Sanders is a self-avowed socialist. He is an isolationist. He hates the America we love and everything it stands for. Yet, Gabbard endorsed him and this is who Trump is embracing. There is something terribly wrong with this picture.

"As a former Haley voter and Reagan Republican, I say to you Mr. Trump, speak to me and my fellow Republicans. Reject the fringes. Fight for the middle. If you do not, you will forever be known from this day forward, as the “Former President.”"

    Ouch.

It always comes down to, why are Trumpites so bad at promoting Trump without having to belittle Harris?

The problem for me is, I don't really disagree with Harris on a lot.

I want her to raise taxes on the ultra rich and corporations.

I want her to decrease the police budget, and use that money to increase education and social services.

I want her to codify abortion rights constitutionally.

I mean, Palestine/Israel issue is bad, but I'm glad she's publicly calling for a ceasefire. Trump has stated that he wants Israel to get it over and done with, which means the annihilation of the Palestinian people. Could she do more? Maybe? But not in an election cycle unfortunately.

There was this meme posted up on the "political satire" thread (desperately needs to be retitled. No one has a clue what satire is):

    Harris.png

So it was posted up by someone who is not a fan of Harris, (but allegedly not a Trump supporter) as some sort of "gotcha" moment. But I don't get it. They're getting their wall built. Why wouldn't they be happy about that? So what if she does a U-Turn, politicians do it all the time. I remember when candidate Trump said NATO was obsolete, and then a few months later, "I said it was obsolete. It’s no longer obsolete.”

It could be the case that the contracts were signed and she can't get out of it, or that so much money has already been wasted on it that it would be sheer folly to drop it now, when materials will increase in price by the next time the Republicans get in and start building the wall again.

    Once again, the playbook

    1. Carry out act of being objective
    2. Claim "both sides" are as bad as each other
    3. Clearly support one candidate without saying it
    4. Have a tantrum, blame other posters and act the victim
    5. "Quit"

Trump staffers pushed aside and verbally abused an employee of Arlington cemetery to get this picture of their boss and ex-President thumbs over the grave of a fallen soldier

    Such a class act

It's a refuge from this thread for the threadbanned.

But apparently that's not "hateful" but if you draw attention to it can only be because you hate Trump.

From people who have a see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil policy when it comes to Trump.

So nope, it is a perfectly normal and healthy reaction to call out Trump's scumbag behaviour as and when he does it.

    They'd go berserk.

Can you imagine if Biden was found guilty by a jury of American peers of rape, then found guilty in a separate case of fraud, had further cases pending, if he had supported an attempted insurrection.. and on and on and on..

Tim and Gwen Walz, according to Vance Law, would have no children, because of IVF ban and neither would be teachers as they then wouldn't have any children. Walz should throw that at him in the debate, slam dunk.

I bet Trump is envious beyond belief that he is not the fellow behind the lady with the white top on the extreme left - UNLaeSS SHE HAS THREE HANDS !!!!!!

Looks weird but looks like a female in blue is standing next to her hidden almost entirely by camera angle, in a blue dress.

In just 37 days, Kamala Harris has outspent Trump on digital ad buys, year to date by SIX to ONE.

    He did not like that.

Thats completely unfair. He is weirdly obsessed and deranged about a lot of things.

Its more like the opposite of an Achilles Heel... all over.

His accusations are always a projection of what he's up to and his fears.

Plus it works to keep his supporters unsure of what the truth is anywhere, even if they hear it. The good old firehose of falsehood.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,683 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

speaking of the projection, his phrase beating her “like a drum” indicates Biden still lives rent free in his head, Biden grabbed headlines in 2019 saying he was going to beat Trump “like a drum” (which, he did)

Anyone thinking this is over only need to remember the polls in 2016. Dead cert Hilary would win. Everyone was so confident hardly anyone stayed up to watch the results.

    It could happen again.

He may well be beating her on social media who knows- whatever that means. More than likely he has more idiotic memes published than Harris does - not really a boast to be proud of

Is there a statistic out there that points to just how many “secret” or “covert” Trump supporters there really are out there? If there was, then that should be factored into any lead by either candidate.

Trump has already tried repeating 2016. What’s the definition of insanity again?

He won because of many factors, including Hillary’s hubris, her nobody VP, Democratic division, Trump being an untested outsider, her email scandal, etc.

Everyone knows what a Trump presidency looks like now. “What the hell do you have to lose” doesn’t work as a campaign slogan for him anymore. He’s also picked up two impeachments and been convicted of 34 counts of fraud and found liable for rape. And Kamala Harris has an energized, united Democratic Party, an extremely affable running mate, along with a shockingly large portion of Republican never-Trumpers in coalition, and half a billion dollars still in the war chest, and she is not going to ignore campaigning in the swing states like Hillary did when she assumed Donald was dead on arrival.

You keep on your hoping it could happen again but Republicans and their surrogates who have shouted “red wave November” for the last 3 election cycles, were 3 times in a row left humiliated. This isn’t like 2016, this is like 2008.

Who says it's over, or there's a dead cert winner?

Practically all the commentary I see says that it's incredibly close

    …we won't mention Hunter's laptop or Ashley's diary so 😀

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,781 ✭✭✭Flaneur OBrien

No one is thinking differently. No one here of sound mind anyway.

Saying that, I'm enjoying the journey to November 5th immensely all the same.

I refuse to be dragged down into a pool of negativity just because it's a 50/50 shot right now.

I don't think Hunter Biden or Ashely's Diary are on the ballot.
