Double agree, on the smell. Anywhere approaching the bogs is rank. GAA boys pissing against the fence when troughs free doesn’t help.

    Greed is good.

Pity he doesnt spend some of the extra revenue on some decent acts.

Per the Irish Times, this year's date was moved for Kylie.

Thats false, Benn let it slip last year that its due to Coldplay logistics.

Kylie could play anytime she doesnt have any tour on.

Crowd for Kylie is v average.

well performed cheese with a superficial sheen and no soul but that’s Kylie ticked off the would see if had chance list.

And confide in me is a **** glorious track and made the set for me., the only thing that would have topped it would be if she’d had a male vocalist to handle wild rose. The girl has proven reserves of kink, she should let them fly again.

I thought Kylie was great, we were right up the front and I'm actually surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

CMAT in Electric Arena was a class show, should have been Main Stage.

First EP done and dusted. Enjoyed it, feet walked off us! Saw Doctors and Mark McCabe were on the musical bucket list, so happy days. Some reek of piss when the sun hit the toilet areas. Won’t be looking for tickets to return next year, feels like one-and-done, but who knows.

Pulled the pin before Kylie last night.

Was on my own bed for 11.30.

Crowds yesterday were mental and I found myself getting really claustrophobic trying to move around. The little d**kh**ds off their tits barging through nearly knocking my wife over a few times nearly brought the red mist down more than once. Did the RSA test on the car run, passed it and came back and packed up the tent and bed and hit the road.

On a positive note Faithless, Kasabain, The Scratch were excellent, had a great time with some old friends for 3 nights. Just a shame the Sunday put a dampner on it.

Might reassess my tactics for next year. Will definitely hit the road early Sunday, depending on headliners.

Lad/Lassies how easy would it be to get a day ticket for next year? Have never been to it and I only live 15 minutes from the venue. May do it before it I get too old :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,178 ✭✭✭✭Beechwoodspark

Complimentary tickets for locals are given out so you might be eligible for them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,856 ✭✭✭riddles

the comp tickets are more for people from the immediate town I believe only thing is to buy one off them but they’d be looking for 150€ so buying a weekend one probably make more sense specially if so close to it.

Morning all. Sitting on the bus here from Green Man to Bristol, great scrolling through the posts for the last few days. Plenty of good gigs in there in the midst of the **** it seems. Delighted to hear it. I had an absolutely beautiful weekend, will post a bit of a review in the 'Festivals you may not know thread' if any of you feel like a change of scene next year. The only downside of my weekend was not meeting any of you beautiful bastards, although I had a joyous reunion with @FishFingers and his crew, so that took the edge off. Get cracking on those reviews. I want to know everything!

yeah people directly affected by road closures and the village itself. If they increase capacity next year, Melvin might be forced to be liberal with number of day passes to locals but 15 min drive away wouldn’t be covered I’d say

People showing up early was the reason for campsite chaos, according to that article.

On a sidenote, I love this quote from Melvin Benn: "I am on the receiving end of aggressive behaviour from some individuals nearing retirement age" who disprove of the event."

Aging Vigilantes? Q-Anon? The Village Green Preservation Society?

    Edit: quoted wrong article

he will now try to increase Thursday early access to 40,000 people to change that now haha

Left at 7:30 this morn, now staring into the abyss that is my work computer screen.

Some weekend, made an absolute pig of myself friday, apparently saw Sophie EB, Gerry cinnamon and Noah Kahan, I'm pretty pleased I can't remember any of them.

Saturday was pretty epic in my head anyway, The wallopers were class, saw doctors put on a great show, and maybe I was just locked but thought Kasabian were decent enough.

CMAT was class, she can put on a show for sure.

Having not been to EP since 2012 I have a few gripes - There are nowhere near enough toilets - not enough locations and not enough actual toilets or pissers in the ones that were there. The walkways are far too narrow between arena and campsites etc, got caught in a few crushes that were unpleasant and didn't feel far off getting dangerous. Security from campsite to arena far too fond of dick-grabbing, absolutely no need, especially when my hood was full of cans.

Definitely had some fomo this weekend after I offloaded my ticket back in June.

Would have loved to seen some of the artists, namely Nas and Faithless. I dont think I would have gone near the main stage this year. Maybe to see the Saw Doctors, but I did catch them in Galway a few weeks back.

Nothing else grabbed my attention though, and I think I made the right decision in the end. €250 for a ticket, plus a few hundred extra for tents, sleeping bag, booze and grub wouldnt equate to value for 2 artists I wanted to see, and lots of exploring. Also used to arriving around 1 on a Friday. Sounds like that could have been a nightmare to find somewhere to setup camp

Anyway, sounds like those of you who did go, enjoyed yourself in the main. Glad to hear it. Will hold off until seeing a line-up, before considering a ticket for next year. I know, it might be officially sold out by then, but nothing from this year, gives me any confidence that next year's line-up will be a belter

On the train home. Good weekend but not high up on my favourite EPs, mid tier too weak imo. Some great gigs though with Faithless standing out. Will send a full review when head returns to normal. 19 year old son at home with serious FOMO so will be trying to get him ticket in a few days, and having said I wouldn't buy until saw lineup the parent (overprotective) in me is thinking buy one so there for son's first one to help him if needed. Great to meet a number of people from here.
