Wanting/demanding Harris to do interviews is only because people want to nitpick on and leverage just about anything resembling a stumble from her. She could say 99 things right but will make one mistake and the morons will latch on and cling to it.

Desperate because Trump is filling the vacuum with his insane ramblings. What is the saying? Never interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake. Obviously Harris will do interviews but the glee they must feel in seeing Trump self combust must make them want to wait just a little bit longer.

I think that Desperate Don would be better than Donald Dump

You mean you hope she will crumble.

All she has to do is ask him about his policies…that will be fun.

I think I'd prefer no press conferences at all than the rambling salad of lies that Trump just delivered. The guy is completely insane. Anyone with even a quarter of a brain cell surely cannot take this man seriously. It's a serious indictment on the US education system that this is even a close race.

The attack ads just write themselves.

"Rich guy gives speech complaining about the cost of living on the steps of one of his private country clubs"

Is this his "Let them eat cake" moment??

She is too busy in front of crowds like this.

Trump is a bit preoccupied with crowd sizes at his events, comparing himself to MLK. "Facing" the media by rambling off on weird tangents.

    Try again.

I don't get where someone argues she "didn't show up" as though Kamala had agreed to an interview and backed out of one. No such thing occurred.

This just seems like frustration from Trump and his campaign and from other Harris detractors that Harris' campaign is staying on message and isn't getting derailed by corporate media who, based on her press gaggles, are only keenly interested in asking her questions framed around Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump, and dragging her off message (Hardly a secret that $WBD who owns CNN, $FOX, etc. at the executive level would heavily favor Trump's handouts to billionaires and corporations, while Harris has economic positions favoring to reign in in corporate greed, price gouging, and close corporate and millionaire tax and benefits loopholes).

She seems to know what she's doing, staying on message and reaching out to ordinary voters, not for-profit media who revenue in the billions of dollars. She's been picking up voters in demographics needed to win while Trump seems to be doing things that are shrinking his base. White Dudes for Harris, Women for Harris, Republicans for Harris, Evangelicals for Harris, etc. etc.

She's hitting the road, not the studio. She's hitting the road while Trump is **** the bed, she's going out to meet Americans where Americans are at. I don't have a problem with that.

And as I noted before, Congress is in Recess for August, it will be back in session in September, then break for October. It is far more likely she continues maximizing her time where she doesn't have to be near DC to cast the senate tie breaking vote, to be on the road campaigning and reaching out to as many voters in person as possible, as reflected by her whirlwind schedule of back to back to back to back rallies being filled to the rafters with enthused voters. It seems much more probable that sit down interviews with news outlets are going to be happening in September, rather than August or October, when she is not as free to move around with the current split in the Senate. The most we know is she indicated she wants at least one sit-down interview scheduled before the end of August.

It's funny during 2020 people complained Joe was "in the basement" campaigning via Zoom etc., when Kamala is out campaigning in all the swing states, people still complain she is "invisible" "hiding" etc.

I think people who don't like her and the campaign that is losing ground against her, just want something to complain about. That's all.

Joe and Co. rallied this afternoon in Maryland to an electric crowd, and touting a major WH win today in lowering the cost of major prescription drugs:

(And gosh, he sounds like he has more vitality today then during last month's debate, I think the being sick thing was true after all)

Trump is not very bright at all. This is kind of akin to when he thought there were different types of per capita.

Should ask him about membership and green fees at his clubs, Mar a Lago joining fee gone from $700k to $1m or 42% and Turnberry green fees now the highest in the world at £1000

Why is she casting tie breaks? I thought Manchin and Sinema went independent not republican so isn’t it 47-49-4 with the 4 nominally democrat leaning to various degrees? For a small number of votes maybe they can’t be relied upon but I’m sure they know which ones those will be and can plan accordingly.

Press conferences have become a talking point because Trump supporters need something and Trump is no longer able to do rallies after someone shot at him.

PTSD is a sad fact but it is one that is likely to cost him a chance at the election at this stage if he is no longer mentally capable of campaigning. Hopefully he gets the help he needs going forward but this will take more than a few months to see significant progress.

Never mind his mental state that he thinks more than every job has gone to immigrants. This from a man who opposed any border bill to reduce immigration.

He wasn't particularly in line with reality 8 years ago but this is just beyond sad. It will be interesting to see how the Republican party eventually decides on having policies again once Trump is gone. They have just gone with "whatever Trump said most recently" for a while now since it was never consistent. Can they pivot back to a serious party?

It's extraordinary how quick the tide has turned. Trump really must feel the proverbial rug was pulled from under his feet.

Walz pointing out how weird they really are has broken the MAGA spell by a lot. At this stage (80+ days is still a long time to go) but at this stage I would not be surprised if most serious republicans (especially the non-MAGA morons) know that this election is dead in the water.

Trump has been objectively terrible since Biden quit. He really can't refocus on Harris, he's slurring his words, he's playing the same old tunes, with added retribution but he's not out there energising his base, he's in hiding.

He's going to have various court appearances coming up, which he'll no doubt say took him off the campaign trail, so this is where he should be making hay, instead it'll be more lies.

"I'm stuck in court, when I should be out campaigning" but what about August, Donnie? Where were you then? I wonder if anyone is keeping track of both parties public engagements?

There's also a small chance, he developed PTSD. Perhaps a well meaning member of his team hired a mental health professional to talk through it and help him deal with the PTSD. But the thing with any sort of therapy though, as soon as you start to peel the onion on one problem, it can be often found that more comes to the surface. Maybe Donnie is having an existential crisis and the mental health professional is sending out a lot of overtime bills.

That or maybe they called Jordan Peterson.

That's what they'll want to hear but probably not what they're going to hear - the previous debates were Trump dragging his opponent down to his level and then trading insults instead of discussing policy because insults is all he has.

Also, coivd hit the world in march 2020 - ten months before the end of Trump's preidency, during which he suggested injecting bleach - so I'd argue it was Trump's ignorance and incompetence that lost the election.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    Steps down? Zero.

Frocibly removed? Not in the timeframe needed for them to register a new candicate (Aug 31, I think, so two weeks).

Him surviving the assassination attempt might have been a blessing in disguise for the Democrats.

Well that is what any rational person would do but given trump basically just repeated what he said months ago, they won't however.

It would be silly to take that risk and lose a vote coming up to an election. It would be handing the Republican campaign a win for no reason and give them fodder for the run in to the election.

    Schrödingers apartment sizes

    Oversized for valuations

    Undersized for tax calculations

    I bet he's a Dr Who fan.

For tax purposes his apartments look like this:

However, for valuations, they look like this:

Good to hear you’re doing ok. I’m great thanks.

If you re read my post I attempted to separate the rape from the criminal convictions, maybe it wasn’t the clearest. I believe he raped the woman involved based on the evidence provided. His moral character is important to me. I thought it would be to you and voters like you. You’re ok to look past how he treats women?

As for protecting the nation: what about the classified documents, including nuclear secrets, lying around his hotel?

Project 2025 DOES NOT protect children. 90% of children who are abused, are abused by someone they know well or a family member. If the Heritage foundation get their way the barrier to reporting the abuse becomes enormous. A doctor will need a parents permission to administer a rape kit.

As for Harris, she’s the lesser of 2 evils. That’s how I usually feel about the Democratic Party candidates. I think she’s inherently a good person and will be better for the poor, working and middle class. She won’t do anything crazy and she will keep things steady. The worst you have to worry about is more people of colour and LGBTQ+ people feel safe to be themselves

    they/them/theirs

The more you can increase fear of drugs and crime, welfare mothers, immigrants and aliens, the more you control all of the people.

Probably not, but I think what happened last night was crucial because a) he was filmed saying it so nobody can claim his words were misinterpreted or taken out of context, b) said video can now be posted as a rebuttal, and c) he confirmed he met with Netanyahu (which he shouldn't have as he's not an elected and serving politician) and said it directly to him as opposed to the previous where he was just responding to an interview question.

So right there in that video clip we have Trump's own position on Israel directly from his own mouth, and which he has already directly advised Netanyahu/Israel of.

I don't believe any of the GQP loons care the slightest bit about Gaza, we know this because they solely use it try and support trump who wants to end Gaza. Each time when questioned about it, it just becomes a pantomime where they refuse to engage on any facts.

They are utterly motally bankrupt in this area.
