I do recall that the number of Gaelscoils shot up when many thousands of Eastern Europeans came to Ireland to avail of our housing boom in late 1990s. Parents thought incorrectly that Eastern European kids would hold back the class because the teachers would need to help them get up to speed with the languages. Some parents of course just didn't want their kids mixing with the foreigners.

What's wrong with the following from the poster?

• Reduce Funding of NGOs—There are too many with too many Non-Jobs in them. And a lot duplicate the same work. The only people who would have a problem with this are people actively working in the sector. Part of the wider Asylum Ecosystem (Property Developers, Hoteliers, Landlords, Lawyers etc) that needs to be looked at anyway, as they are costing the taxpayer a small fortune.
• Surely reducing the time Asylum Seekers have to wait for processing is a good thing?
• Reducing the number of appeals is also a good thing. For the Asylum Seeker and the Taxpayers. Cuts down the amount of time they are hanging around in DP or in Tents, and at least they know their status.
• Surely stopping the nonsense of "Self-Deportation" is a good thing? If not, why not?
• Setting up Offshore Processing systems; isn't that what the EU was looking at in North Africa at one point? I wouldn't agree with North Africa, but maybe somewhere else instead.

Reduce funding of immigration NGOs

Quick turn around of processing migrates. No migrates should be waiting months and years for a decision.

Reduce the amount of appeals including courts.

Asking nicely to leave has to stop and instead they should be immigration officers escorting the illegals out.

Above is just short term and the Government tomorrow should be preparing migrate centers outside Ireland like what Italy has done, this would stop the pull factor all together and stop the vested interest groups making money of this absolute blight in our country

As for the rest of it, you've certainly adapted some it but let me take up some of these points.

We should look to reduce costs around providing services for IPAs, but it's important we don't lose anything that's in the common interest. Ending up with homeless people in tents, or people not having access to English classes would be good examples of this.

It would be a good thing, but I doubt the poster meant it the sense I would. It would be great to speed up processing so people can get on with their lives, getting jobs, training, planning for the future etc.

It would be great to reduce cost around appeals and throughout our legal system. At the same time do we want to start excluding some people from fair process? I might think it's a waste of time and money giving the so-called 'peaceful protestors' access to appeals and fair trails. I also think some positive results have come from the appeals process, such as emphasizing the importance of family in the constitution. Deporting Irish people's parents I would think a poor choice in the long term. We don't want to turn people against the state or create an actual two-tiered society.

We don't have the resources to start deporting people on any scale. Looking at our historical record in this regard, and how other countries have completed so few deportations I wouldn't expect we'd actually deport any more than 10-20% of failed applicants. This would come with huge pressure on AGS resources and take Gardai from tackling violent crime.

Italy's offshore center looks a bit of a joke, much like the Rwanda scheme, I don't know how or why we'd consider something like this in Ireland. It might be possible for the EU to achieve something in the longer term with offshore processing if it's approached in the right way, for Ireland I would think we'd just end up with some Rwanda like failure. I'm not sure if you're aware but Italy doesn't actually deport people to Albania, it plans to bring people picked up in the med straight there and have the center operate as some sort of Italian jurisdiction. I don't know what that will achieve.
