What I mean to say is that if an entity point blank refuses to change in the face of reality years on end, evidently they are in favour of it.

As for mandate, they are employees of the country, yet somehow are flying in the face of their employers. They therefore don't have a mandate, being essentially rogue.

Amazing contribution. When even the government and NGO's admit the vast majority aren't legitimate asylum seekers you still peddle the far right nonsense. It must be amazing to be so detached from reality in your little self righteous bubble. Just keep piling thousands of men that are gaming the asylum system into everywhere we can find sure. It'll totally work out brilliantly as they will all work and integrate and sing and dance together forever.

In theory it could end up anywhere but for now my money's on the lads with the water cannons.

I'd hate to see anyone else get hurt but with recent reports of plans to target individual Gardai I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Armed Support on standby for future protests.

I don't know why people continue to rouse these youngsters with lies and hateful rhetoric. There is no u turn available to the government.

Well personally if I come across a guy who's arrived here with all his possessions in a bin liner I'm going to do what I can to give him a dig out regardless of what some flag waving knob in a hi vi's jacket says.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48 wovay

Can you quantify the total of your dig outs so far?

Are they exclusive to foreign people in bin bags, or are irish people in bin bags included in the winfall too?

Do you you also share the wisdom of "just get a life" to them too despite their obvious situation?

absolutely in the case of main line issues - 0 effect.

    That's where you are wrong.

Arson attacks and thuggery will ensure that people vote for the status quo.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

With this deplorable court case, can the government appeal or legislate against it?

Sounds like you have skin in the game, what's with insulting concerned people calling them assholes? Some cheek

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,604 ✭✭✭realdanbreen

, I said it " would apply to most mean spirited assholes", why would you take that personal?

Similar to throwing your body under an out of control bus, being self destructive is no virtue to brag about.

The people who don't jump under the bus are not "mean spirited".

Even worse, some stupid gombeen pushing a crowd of people under the bus to display virtue.

With everything at play in this country, those kind of virtues are literally unaffordable. For those who can personally afford it, they should personally pay for it. But don't go spending other peoples money pretending to be above it all.

Because the Government is responsible for more lies, more obfuscation, more omission, and more disinformation than any far-right "activists" on Social Media.

And those lies, obfuscation, omission, and disinformation impact the quality of life, and back pockets, of the citizens they are supposed to serve.

That’s nice of you PERSONALLY. However the rest of us on the breadline would also like some say in the matter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,509 ✭✭✭sonofenoch

If you ever come across? 🤣 …they're not particularly hard to find, go do your bit to help them out …offer a room a space in your garden to pitch a tent

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48 wovay

Its typical of the usual bumfluff, a bunch of people patting each other on the back for giving away things not belonging to them, not impacting themselves but others instead, and when it's least affordable, of course!

You'd do feck all, maybe throw him a coin and then boast here.

The morgue pub took its name from a historic morgue back in the day and the blessington tram would regularly drop off dead bodies hit by the tram on the old n81. The road still has no lighting and is so dangerous it had literally zero pedestrians until they opened the ipas in Crooksling, you should see it now , constant flow of pedestrians day and night it's quite dangerous

The MSM is not much different much of it is true .

Our entire previous exchange involved you repeatedly confirming your point.

And you've just confirmed it again - "take measures to allow people to come here". Much like before it was, "allow them to come using existing ferries and planes to be processed".

How could anyone possibly you seriously coming out with that sort of stuff.

    God help ya 😂.

Typically impartial panel on the Tonight show discussing Coolock among other things ..

are Virgin news still taxing these lads around Dublin in company cars?

It's only a matter of time before one of them is hit by a car especially with the darker days on the horizon. I've seen groups of them walking the road - no high-vis or anything. That whole site is a disaster but they're trying to expand it.

Funny I said the same thing else where.

Full of absolute left wing nutters. How come there's never the other side of the story on Virgin Media? I think the only time I've seen anyone who voices concerns about immigration was when Ian O'Doherty was on and he tore the blond presenter a new one and I suspect that's why we wont see him again unfortunately.

Dont get me started on that blond one, bloody hell

Take a few of them into your house so but don't expect irish taxpayers to support every economic sob story that comes here illegally.

I suspect that wouldn't happen though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,258 ✭✭✭MegamanBoo

Sure, well the thing is, as much as you lot like to pretend what happens on migrant routes doesn't concern us, or isn't our fault, it has very real consequences for all Irish people.

If the majority of kids coming here are exposed to violence and sexual abuse, they will be growing up and living here with that background. Some will overcome, but others sadly will not cope so well, which can have a whole manner of consequences.

For the foreseeable future we are going to have more people from the global south coming to live here. Let's try and make that work as well as we can by not falsely labelling them as 'bogus' and putting them through hell on the way here with deterrent policies which are not working.

I do think we should we make it safer for people to come here to claim asylum in line with measures to ensure that this is not abused. It's up to airlines and ferries who they allow aboard but we should be applying our border controls here for the above reasons.

Very ironic a guy with a profile username such as yours calling others names

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,258 ✭✭✭MegamanBoo

That wouldn't apply to McDowell and McNamara though surely 😉

Do you lot still consider McNamara an anti-immigration politician or has he been 'found out'?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,604 ✭✭✭realdanbreen

Oh you poor thing, how long have you been on the breadline?

"It's up to airlines and ferries who they allow to board". Emmmm, no. It's largely a matter of immigration legislation and airlines are fined if they breach this.

But the main thing to note here is that you're once again confirming that you'd be happy for the following airport scenario to become the norm.

Undocumented scammer: "Hello Sir. I'd like to go to Ireland to claim asylum please. I have no visa, or even passport, and actually I dont even have a ticket. I don't want to tell you my name or where I'm from or anything. Can I go to Ireland now?".

Airline Employee: "Oh, let me help, you poor fellow. Here's your boarding passes. Don't worry about giving me your name or anything. Just so you know you'll be doing a couple of stopovers en route but don't worry nobody will question you at any point of your journey, you're totally entitled to do this. I'm assuming since you're a refugee you don't have any money so I'll just send the bill to Roderic O'Gorman. Bon voyage and enjoy your new home".

Have a good think about this now, will you? Think about the chaos that would occur in airports and then here in Ireland in just about every aspect of our society. And then have a think about the fact that we'd probably have to make major global changes to legislation to allow airlines to engage in purposeful breaches of standard security measures.

Do you not feel ridiculous coming out with this nonsense?

This is all politically dead. No politician has, or will, change tact.

To get mileage out of a quote, "It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it".

People need to organise at local level and be prepared to not back down. And the mandate is there considering that polling regularly goes from 70% to 90% against more migration as it stands.

Or we can all pretend that the politicians need solutions a chimp could concoct, for the xth year in a row. Everyone knows what's what at this point.
