Ah. I thought he did okay.

What were people actually expecting when you put a imbecilic misogynistic racist in front of 3 women in a room full of Black Journalists.

His own team dragging him off before the interview finished wasn't great optically, but at least Vance found out he is of no consequence and is 100% getting the blame if Trump loses.

I haven't seen him leaving the stage yet, was it that bad?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,192 ✭✭✭Patrick2010

Why don't the Democrats do the same, refuse to certify republican candidates citing reasonable doubt of voter fraud?

I saw one brief clip of him being ushered off by a couple of his team (Presumably) but then watching the entire thing he walked off on his own. Not sure what the first clip was about as it seems it didn't happen.

He wasn't literally dragged off, his team basically threw in the towel and interview was pulled mid question.

That question I believe was relating to Project 2025.

It was a car crash of epic proportions, he spent most of his time ranting about Biden's age and calling one of the interviewers names, whilst repeating he can't hear the questions. Basically old racist man shouting.

I'd say it took a while for Harris's team to stop gut laughing at the debacle.

Because that would undermine the legitimacy of the electoral process which would further bolster the Republicans gerrymandering efforts.

Long but interesting article/theory on why the republicans are being triggered by being called weird:

The odd thing about it is that all the media networks over night got the instruction to run a 'weird' narrative on Trump. There is a montage of it.

It reminds me of the 'this is dangerous to our democracy' which was worse, word for word across different networks.

This isn't a conspiracy theory, media outlets owned by one parent get trickled down what to run, they're part of networks, but it results in this. You get these media outlets hundreds of local ones all repeating what a corporate daddy 5 levels of ownership above told them to say.

You know they are not mutually exclusive, a few seconds of googling would tell you that. An even further 10 seconds of googling would let you know about her Jamaican father and her mother from Southern India. This is mental that people can't grasp the concept that just because you are one thing, you can't be another as well. She could quite comfortably refer to her Jamaican heritage if her father included that in her upbringing. It won't make her less American.

In 2016, a lot of people went "You know what, lets give Trump a go, he could be a breathe of fresh air, a change from the elitist out of touch candidates we usually have for Potus". Then he took office and we all saw how that went, and in 2020 people went, "Yeah, the Trump experiment is over".

    Which Montage is this?

I'm aware of one from years ago that was Pro Trump?

Have you a link to the 'weird' anti Trump one?

Given how he projects I'd say it's a full hand of Uno reverse cards.

all of the networks were instructed to? you have a link supporting that statement?

According to Hindustan Times 1 August 2024 Fact Check: Trump’s claim that Harris changed her identity from Indian to Black is FALSE:

“Harris has long identified as both Black and Indian in an attempt to recognize both her parents heritage as a part of her identity.”

Furthermore, according to NPR News 31 July 2024: “Harris is a member of an historically Black sorority, attended (and graduated in 1986) from Howard University, one of the most prominent historically Black colleges in the country, and was a member of the Congressional Black Caucus when she was a US Senator from California.”

I predict braindead MAGA drivel along the lines of…

This is so unfair. Trump is WHITE and she gets to have INDIANS and BLACKS in her corner???

Trump's campaign is clearly losing momentum. Anyone who thinks Harris has just had a brief media bounce and honeymoon period since entering the race is fooling themselves - Trump is in trouble.

Anthony Scaramucci, Trump's 'blink and you'll miss it' press secretary back in the day hosts a pretty entertaining podcast called, 'The Rest is Politics' with the journalist Katty Kay. It's obviously completely US focused.

He said a few weeks ago, about a week before it happened that he expected Biden to step out by the end of July.

He tweeted last night that Trump might step out of the race after his NABJ appearance. Think maybe it was in jest, but its a measure of how bad the event was for him that that was one of the thoughts being considered as plausible after it.

commented by a friend last night- trump never seems to laugh. or just be happy.

Just catching up on the Trump situation.

Good God its hilarious. He entered a room where he was by far the least intelligent person, and he walked out a humiliated loser.

Its hard to overstate how catastrophic this event has been for him. I think you may see senior campaign figures jumping ship now, as when it comes to their future careers, they won't want to be associated with this calamity as it falls apart. And he has 90 odd days to keep digging!!

his happiness often tends to be at the expense of someone else

He would genuinely get a 100M deal from Netflix if he signed up to ten sessions of therapy with a clinical psychologist in the ultimate reality TV show. 100M Minimum!

You'd nearly convince him on the ratings alone.

Ten years of watching and hearing about him.

Im sick of Trump at this stage. Scandal after scandal, this isn’t what a president should be about.

Pick any other recent US President and you will have no problem finding pictures of them laughing and smiling.

It was one of the most jarring things when Kamala Harris burst onto our screens - somebody who actually seemed to be joyful, rather than hateful.

10 years going on what feels like 100

Just chaos and daft nonsense day after day

    And of course no policies

The issue is he'd probably only do it if it was someone like Dr.Phil or Dr.Oz and at that stage it may as well be a live narration of his Truth Social posts, or if it was a real psychologist, they'd need to start seeing a psychologist after the first day of filming.

I remember saying to my dad, we were watching the news and the correspondant said "As we reach the 6 month anniversary, of the Trump Whitehouse", I said, "Has it only been 6 months? It feels like he's been in office for years now".

In our house we renamed CNN to WDDN - Whats Donald Done Now.

Yeah, it would never work for a variety of reasons. The privacy element obviously, and then his desire to manipulate it for his own ends, but the thought is interesting.

I view him as deeply narcissistic and likely someone who hasn't felt a genuine connection with a person (including his wives/kids/friends) for decades, if at all.

But the thoughts of a candid camera type shot of him in therapy ala Tony Soprano is a fascinating thought.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,661 ✭✭✭✭Wanderer78

….he has probably never truly connected emotionally with another human being ever, probably never will either, its next to impossible to change such an individual….

…he may do the whole netflix thing if he knew the therapist was completely on his side, and continually just elevates his ego, theres unsavory characters in that world to, including narcissistic therapists…..

Just on that, did you hear his answer to a Fox News interview question about the effect of the assassination attempt on Melania? He said 'she didn't want to talk about it, meaning that she either loved or liked him, which is nice' (That is not verbatim but condenses his garbled answer.

No connection there at all, and even his kids were all just about the political aspect of it.
