I'm from up that way so know the pain all too well, even when 99% of the country is in heatwave conditions we'd get sea fog keeping the temperature at a toasty 14C

and the west has done so much better than the rest of the country this summer Pauldry so be thankful.

Was relatively sunny at times here today and temp hovering a little above 20 degrees. Nothing exceptional wonderful or beautiful about it but passable and so so much better than so much of this summer.

Sitting out my back at 6.50pm with my top off in NCD. Can't say that's happened at all this year, a few times during the heat of the day but not evening time.

It actually feels like summer during summer. How bloody remarkable is that.

Very pleasant evening . Sunny, 21c N Kildare

The West has. The NW hasn't. 91.8mm for month now so passed normal now. However yes there is nothing remarkable about drizzle in the N and W and sunshine in the S and E just that in past years we have had a warm spell that lasted a week to 10 days every year. This year's longest warm spell here is 2 days with no sun.

Again Belmullet sunny this evening but not NW. Finner n Sligo raining but radar won't show this fine mist.

Looks like the places that got a soaking this morning (Dublin, Kildare, etc) did well for the rest of the day. I'd say the best part of the country to have been in today :-)

Up here in Ulster it's been mostly cloudy all day (overcast now) with just limited brightness and ok warm wise at 20c but not feeling really humid. I'll take it though over a rainy day.

Cloudy here in carrick all day but warm ,it's to be nice up until and including Thursday so best make the most of this weather, I think August will be more less the same pattern Atlantic lows and 2 or 3 warm days and the cycle Continues, hopefully OK wrong though 😊

Raining here in North Kerry for a change.

Definitely not as much rain this july as same time last year.

My weather station is out of action so have no figures this summer

Drizzle followed by rain last night. Very wet this morning for my run. 12C and cloud but pleasant enough.

Blue skies in Dublin and sunshine! I really hope it lasts for a little while, at least some hours! Very calm as well and showing 14 degrees on my laptop. Now I better do some work

Lovely sunshine and blue skies from early this morning around Maynooth. Clouded over now however. But hopefully a pleasant dry day ahead.

Yesterday evening was nice once the rain passed, but not as nice as others here seemed to experience - still dull, and not that warm without the direct sun.

lovely day here also a little hazy but lovey and warm temps in low 20s. Feels like a summers day. Oh how I have missed them! Really great to see and feel though.

Down in Kerry for a few days and it's lovely day here today…just typical probably the 2 best days (today and tomorrow looking good) of the season and of course the they come in the last 2 days of Summer…you couldn't make it up

Well you can all thank me for the good weather, anytime I get really sick ( which isn't often) there is usually a heatwave that I can't enjoy.

Ah well I'm finally on the mend now so you can enjoy it on my behalf!

What do you mean the last 2 days of summer? Surely summer is June, July, August? Although granted - August often feels like Autumn. But either way, surely meteorological summer is 1st June to 31st August? And astronomical summer is 21st June to 21 September?
