The festival is pretty weak this year.

missing a coupled of top enders, but some great acts included there. will Don Letts be spinning some discs or have a band i wonder?

havent heard the name billy scurry since my techno days of the late 90s! mad hes still going.

'the year that grunge broke' are a decent tribute act to the early grunde days (qed)

Wasnt expecting Fishtown to blow any minds but Fangclub and Melts decent for guitar music and Jack L was excellent when he played a couple of years back. A few things to add to the list, which is all one can ask for this year

Fangclub a nice addition to be fair

Billy Scurry is some boy. Not sure if he's playing techno these days, could well be some Luke Una/Sean Johnston-esque chuggery.

It’s a fair point…. I had more in this post that I’ve now deleted as it was negative af! 🥹😂

Villian normally pops up on here a week out, spoils us with very detailed weather info and beautiful drone shots of site.

Anyone know the name of the company that does the posh toilets? Where they are a proper toilet and the waste seals up in a bag instead of flushing? 😅 I would really like to buy a band for them for the weekend... or any other "posh toilets"??

Loowatt had a similar system to what you describe. They were in ECO some years ago maybe 2018, but haven’t seen them since. Not sure if in other areas of the festival!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,982 ✭✭✭rubick

The company that supplies them to Ireland was bought over, they haven't been in Eco since before the pandemic. Not sure if they were even on site elsewhere since, I think they had them around Warhol/Hendrix too.

I bought a ticket thinking 20th anniversary date moved for specific acts schedule blah blah line up published ticket sold won’t buy another - too many people - questionable crowd control at times. Is there a point where it declines? Is this that point?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,616 ✭✭✭Wooderson

It will only decline when the public are made aware of routine unsavory/unsafe behaviour. Same pattern as Oxegen.

Up to now the older crowd (and particularly imo) families with kids offer a kind of natural buffer. Once thats gone, the festival enters a riskier phase.

I think todays 20’s year olds are less feral than people my age back then who went and caused the hassle at oxegen.

In fairness in all my years going have seen no trouble, some potential crowding issues but not too many. Jerry has added a few more to my list and some already on that may help in terms of clashes. Probably enough to fill the weekend if no clashes and expect one or two more from Survivor. Think overall lineup is week and not as diverse as usual but will have a decent weekend but won't buy early for next year

Some nice punk additions in that JF announcement, Paranoid Visions are worth a look at and The Nilz put on a cracker of a show, IYKYK. 😉

I’d say it will be mid or late September for on sale. Timed with pay day

Two piece 'garage, punk, blues' from Lurgan direction. I've seen them loads and would highly recommend.

I think he could be tempted to follow last year's pattern. Your logic is sound here tho.

Bring some Jameson in the backpack, that coke stage was brilliant last year, they just give you free cold coke cans, I couldn’t believe my luck getting trolled on a bench for the afternoon. Cheap day out. They can keep their midlaois white calk.

I think EP will probably continue down this route as a cost cutting financial hedge against Reading and Leeds until the later starts selling out again which I don't think will happen until the UK economy improves.

was there! Just hitting the ferry now for the trip back home! kasabian had a great gig - crowd so reserved though as is often the case with the self proclaimed “middle class festival”. Polar opposite of EP - saw Melvin a few times scoping out the stages and giving orders!! Weather was so hot the tents were baking hot by 7am! Hard to please us 🤣

Thanks for the recommendations after today's announcement. Fish town will be my most frequented area I would say!
