Just had a run through updating the clashfinder as visually it works a lot better for me too. Unclear if a few smaller stages will be returning this year as Éalu le Grá have only one stage listed on the app, no stage times for the Born Social Schweppes but they have announced a lineup on Instagram so presume that is coming. Unclear if 'The Well' will have anything in the evenings once the comedy is over? They have done in the past but not sure if there was a lineup per se.

Seems to be a fair few TBAs/Special Guests slots still too (not expecting any big names btw but just to points out):

    • Thursday night acts - presuming we will have something on Arcadia & the Bandstand at least.
    • Saturday - 6.45 in SKOW, midnight at Lovely Days, 1.45am in Global Roots.
    • Sunday - 2.30 at Lovely Days, two in Hidden Sounds at 8.30 & 9.30, 9.30 at the Bandstand and finally someone who is going b2b with Mano le Tough on Lovely Days late at night.

Is there 2 areas of arcadia? I see Spectacular and I assume that's the Bug. I was in Arcadia at The Picnic, but it's been years.

I'm gonna bring an inflatable cushion that will hopefully work, cos sitting on the ground ain't as easy as it used to be 😂

Climbed the Curraghmore Steeple earlier, they're getting ready for us!

Arcadia has just been the Bug the last 2 years. 2019 still had the bigger installation.

The person firing electricity out of their head last year was crazy. Wasn't a fan of much of the music in there last year though

Would anyone know how many cans you can bring. It says 24, is that strict? Probably loads anyway but just curious. Do they have anywhere where you can leave cans, EP a few years ago had an area where u could pay to keep them in a fridge. Does anyone know what gargle is sold there officially (pints)?

Guinness are the only beer supplier. Bars last year had Guinness and Rockshore. Id say youd get away with a few over the 24 can limit but you have to bring it all in on first entry, they will search for alcohol if you go out and come back in. I dont recall seeing beer lockers or anything similar but could be?

When going through security last year our group was asked if we had any glass and then waved through, they won’t be counting cans per person unless you’re clearly taking the piss!

There’s nowhere to leave your cans other than your tent - I bring a cooler bag and top up it with a bag of ice from the shop every morning.

Rockshore & Guinness are sponsors so that’s your pint selection for the weekend. Not great, not terrible.

The last time i was in without a campervan they looked at my cool box and asked how many cans and were satisfied when i said 24. i probably had 28. if you rock up with 2 full slabs i doubt theyd let it pass.

I will bring 24 cans of Guinness and have a pint or two then inside. I’ll have my cooler box too. I know some ppl don’t like the idea of Guinness but that’s made my day. Thanks for the info

Not sure if @Van Doozy will be there for can cooling needs??

Thats interesting. We stayed with Base Camp last year but are with Pink Moon this year and assumed all "Pre Pitched" would be around the same area. Looks like its the boutique entrance for me this year so.

For anyone in Boutique last year I seem to recall it had its own car park - is that correct?

Whats the trek from the car park to Boutique like?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 690 ✭✭✭deeks

Fairly certain he said he wasn't there when I checked with him previously

All eyes on Carlow weather as this week progresses, I know anything beyond 5 days is too hard to predict but hopefully there's some positive early indicators later this week. Fingers crossed.

Jeez, a weekend with no Named Storms will be an improvement on last year!

Had it's own carpark, signposted on way in, it was a fairly easy walk to the boutique area iirc, maybe 10-15 mins

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55 ✭✭BikesKilleen

Managed to arrange a private bus down drop our group down this year, can anyone recall where the drop off point was last year?

The walk from car park to campsite was a dream in 2023 so hoping for something similar from a bus drop off point of view!

It really was. We had hard plastic glasses from a different festival and most staff were kind enough to use our glasses and rinse them out before pouring aswell. We also brought the nitro surge which proved a great hit.

Is parking free, the website doesn’t give any information about parking yet other than “Further information for Car Parking in 2024 will be released shortly”

Seems to be a lot more advertising this close to the festival than in previous years. Ticket sales must be slow. Is there any hope for Sunday tickets being announced? I know a few people that would go just for Sunday.

I think it’s hit or miss. We arrived Thursday last year and they actually counted every can in the cooler. It’s not a bad walk back to the carpark. I usually leave a cooler box with extra cans in the car. Head out to it for an hour have a cold can while charging phones up.

Just an FYI but Pink Moon appear to be giving out conflicting information. One of our crew had also been in contact with them and their reply was

"We are located near general camping in the pre-pitched area."
