This was a major buzz kill for me last year. Have been going to festivals since Homelands / Witnness and have never seen the likes.

Really hope they lighten their touch for 2024 and beyond ✌️

Has it been the same every year or was just last year more OTT than the others?

We stayed in the Podpads last year and didn't see any sign of them all weekend, either at the boutique entrance or around the campsite

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 170 ✭✭jellybeano

    It was only last year.

From Friday lunchtime to Sunday evening, there was a very strong presence at the main entrance. They were also working the general campsite. On the Saturday afternoon they were in & amongst us and around our tents, as we sat out having a few drinks. They then moved onto the next group sitting out.

Far too early to be considered accurate, but promising all the same…

    https://www.met.ie/forecasts/monthly-forecast

(Monday 29 July to Sunday 04 August)

High pressure is signalled to hold more of an influence on our weather during week 2, bringing long dry periods, though occasional showers and rain cannot be ruled out. Rainfall amounts will be below normal for most, but will be closer to normal near northern coasts. Temperatures will return to around normal.

hi all. I’ve a deposit put done on tickets I bought on Adverts, transfer is not open yet apparently. Can anyone confirm this if they go into their TM acc just to check please 🙏🏼

I’ve just had a quick look and the option is open for me.

My plan was to get a taxi on Thursday afternoon, back on Monday. Looking at last years traffic plan it seems that all drop-offs on Friday and pickups on Monday were from the business park via shuttle. There’s no mention of Thursday.

Did anybody get dropped off on Thursday last year, if so how was it?

    Thanks.

Ah, fair enough. Will already be thinking about the 5 hour drive home at that point, if we're anywhere at that time it'll be Felix Dickinson in Ping Pong Disco.

About 20 people up in Carrick district court today on drugs charges arising from last years ATN.
All were thrown out of court, the guard had failed to complete some of the documentation

Good for them. Seems a bit like shooting fish in the barrell with a heavy garda approach.

if any of the lovely people on here are re-selling a campervan ticket could you give me a heads up please? I am on Toutless too but no joy there. Thank you!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,875 ✭✭✭endainoz

Well happy they all got thrown out, but those poor people have had a possible court appearance and drug charge hanging over their heads for almost a full year. We truly have a bullsh1t legal system.

looking through my favourites on the app it looks like Sunday is the best day for me. I can only do two days this year unfortunately and now I’m thinking of heading on Saturday to Monday morning. However, I love that Friday feeling. Oh what to do. Anyone else in this boat?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 710 ✭✭✭Blackie_IRL

I know we've discussed this for previous ATNs but for the IPA drinkers in the group the bar situation is rubbish, Rockshore or Guinness only, a couple of local pubs in my area have the Guinness Citra IPA on draft, don't understand the logic behind not having this option at the festival considering how popular IPA is

BTW…a word for the app, no? It’s still a work in progress but I find it very useful.

One other alcohol related query, I see Aperol Spritz as a listed sponsor again this year on website (they were there last year too) but I don't remember (or didn't come across) an Aperol Spritz bar the last 2 years, I can remember one in 2019 over by the road to nowhere stage. I do like the odd aperol, can anyone shed some light on this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,770 ✭✭✭Ferris_Bueller

Hmm I feel like there may have been on that long pathway down towards the house. Kind of opposite the turn for AVA in the woods. It definitely served drinks like aperol spritzes and cocktails but can't remember if it was specifically an aperol bar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 970 ✭✭✭gandalfio

It's a joke. The market is there. Even just have one IPA bar in the main arena.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 710 ✭✭✭Blackie_IRL

The wine bar was there, they definitely served cocktails etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 293 ✭✭Coz

It was at the cross roads halfway up The Avenue from the house up to the Stag. It was on the left as you go up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 710 ✭✭✭Blackie_IRL

I don't get it, all it does is encourage me to bring more IPA, don't get me wrong I love the free flow, but I also enjoy cold pints in the afternoon/evening, they're losing money at the bar

They had hop house in a couple of places last year, maybe Citra might be added this year, I think it's only really taken off in the last year or so anyway, at least in my area.
