Any hardcore acid techno DJs lined up for Arcadia?

Tommy Holohan is the suspected Special Guest, he'll fairly bang it out.

Yeah IIRC the app had that last year too, I'd expect to see that back.

This might be a verrry dumb question but I'm in desperate need of a caravan ticket. The re-sale options have opened now on TM but how does this actually work? If someone is reselling does it go back to the original pot of tickets available through the general TM search or is there another part of the site you have to access?

Just looking at the map that was linked for this year's festival - was there a bar in the Arcadia field last year as there seems to be this outing? I can't seem to recall one there, although once we got in we just stayed put at the fence beside the dragon sculpture due to the ground conditions.

It did seem like there was a bar as there was continuous foot fall but I don't think there was one, it was just the way the arena was shaped, with real slushy mucky bits and folk avoiding this.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Yea there was on the opposite side than the dragon towards the back. Never made it there myself cause of the mud but the other half got us some pints there at one point.

Couldn't get over the quality of the draught Guinness at the festival last year!

There was 100% a bar in the Arcadia field last year. Down to the back left as you enter the field. Or to your back right if looking up at the DJ booth.

Just the general search. They will be highlighted as resale tickets on the page, rather than just regular tickets.

Although as far as I know, resale/transfer option hasn't opted for any ATN ticket types yet.

looks as if the Favourites section in “More” is not there, that could be really useful but hey . . .

if you go to artists and hit the "heart" in top right, it brings up all your fav artists

thanks, it does, which helps but the favourite tab listed them in date and time order

What's the capacity for ATN this year? Did they up the total by a couple of thousand?

Is all this rain giving anyone else the fear. I am dreading another muck fest. Hopefully they have made some adjustments and learned a bit from last year.

Literally my thoughts this morning. Thinking of putting on my heaviest boots and doing some 10ks in preparation

Long term forecast not giving much of an indication just that rainfall is to be below average for the time of year which is pretty positive, but as always take it with a pinch of salt, too far out yet. I'm not from the south east, but I don't think it's had a particularly wet summer so far, so let's hope it continues.

I've more concerned about the conditions for the site build, it can get churned up very easily then that has a knock-on effect for the festival.

Yes, the week or so before the festival is crucial. Unlike EP I find the ground at ATN to be hard-going at times even with a small bit of rain/mud, and in general around the main area it can seem like you're walking/standing on a slope a lot of the time.

I "think" the last few weeks have been relatively dry, it's not been a great summer, it's been cooler than normal temperature wise, I'd imagine the ground is in decent nick, at the moment, but with 3 weeks out we need this trend to continue, iirc last year, from the end of June onwards it rained non-stop, the ground was fairly saturated by the time the festival came around and the rainfall that Friday night with the storm was the icing on the cake. We'd all love blue skies and sunshine for 3 days, but I'd settle with it being dry and mild

    The post-traumatic-mud-disorder is real 😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭mgkelly

Yes, this! Dry is all I want!

Was across in England in May at a festival in Derbyshire - Bearded Theory - was a moderate mud-fest. Can be very offputting.

The mud last year was killer, really dangerous around parts of site, and I brought my wife with me for her 1st ATN, who has MS, so getting from A to B to C was really difficult, found myself not bothering to get to some parts of the site because it was such a chore

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭mgkelly

That is too bad, especially for your wife. Sorry to hear that. The mud in the campsite at ATN last year was indeed a sight to behold, as well as down in the 'bottom field' where bandstand etc is.

Disappointing that someone with a degree of disability is inconvenienced due to the weather like that. I thank my lucky stars that I am well/in good health…I think! But if I had any disability, I would dealry love to be able to still get to my music events.

Here's hoping that, for you & your wife (if she goes again!), it is enjoyable & dry!
