My back bedroom (home office) faces out onto the site. They are flying along, even with as complicated build form (ICF) they are doing great.

Really good, really fast work. Lot of rock onsite which makes for a lot of noisy drilling/ kangoing etc.

I'd believe September alright. People on site every Saturday and they start the machines at bang on 7:30am weekday mornings

More of the houses in Hawks Bay have been released if anyone was curious, some big money for the Lupin!

Also thanks for the feedback there @dbas , we've been up a few times to see how things are going and each time the differences are staggering. If they are indeed finished building by September, I hope that ESB/Irish Water/County Council sign offs aren't too far behind 😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 602 ✭✭✭dbas

All that will be staged, and hopefully happens on time. Sometimes Irish water are late, but IMO ESB are generally prompt and it's the builders fault if ESB can't do a connectionThe council are busy, but if so the paperwork is in order it should be signed off quick enough.

Builder hasn't made a bob on that site yet either so I'd say they'll only be delighted to get some money in

Anyone else buying in Brookfield Park phase 2?

hi folks - anyone know what the story is with the mid terrace houses in Seascape 16-18?
Looks like they completed in 2022 but haven’t sold.
Or perhaps council aren’t filling them.
Heard this development had some issues during its construction?

They're for the council, and yes, there are issues with the builder. Council have taken enforcement proceedings against builders and owners and that's in progress.

They completed around 2019/2020 I think

@dbas thanks for response.. was looking at the end house which is up for sale. Had heard there was a few issues with the builds but when I saw the mid-terrace had been empty for few years can only imagine issues building up in future.

Shame it’s taken them so long to sort out, 3 lovely empty homes.

4 council houses altogether lying empty

+ 6 almost completed houses at the top lying empty too

For anybody interested. Photos of the north side of the site last weekend. The semi detached properties are "Oyster" type and expected completion October

I am, took a spin down the other day and from what I could see, looks like foundations have been filled

    That's great! Thanks for sharing!

How long does it typically take to complete the build once the foundations are done?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4 JustLee

I've no idea to be honest, maybe someone in this thread would know and could share the information with us?

I am thinking about buying a second hand house in Sea scape estate. I have read in this thread that there is an issue with builders and owners with the council. Is it a major problem? Could anyone provide me more insights about this?

    Thank you.

Anyone any updates on the Hawks Bay development?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41 997

just from driving by I can see they’re still flying up, working away at full pelt. Things like the boundary wall is up and being decorated with stones, the entranceway is done nicely etc

Was down last weekend checking to see how things were going and as 997 mentioned, things are flying.

We were told the houses that would be at the very end of both rows would be last to be built as they were running majority of the utilities from there but even those foundations were in place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,010 ✭✭✭WhiskeyGoblin

Yeah we’ve bought or are in the process of buying one of the homes from Phase 1!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8 FinishedWithThePaper

Good stuff. Same we have also bought. Interesting to know if you have heard anything other than Nov ready dates.

ah congrats, which house type did you go for?

We went up the weekend before last and one of the builders was saying that the roads were due in the Monday so last week and that Durkan were putting pressure on to have the houses complete mid September. Then whatever time for water/electricity and snagging. (Take with whatever amount of salt you need 😂)

The estate agents said they’re hoping for show houses around September too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 422 ✭✭ofthelord

The new road from the roundabout into the estate was tarmacced last week, footpaths going in at the min. The houses are flying up.. sooner they finish the better as it all happening in the field at the end of my road and it has been nothing but constant noise 8am to 5pm the last few months!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8 FinishedWithThePaper

Cheers. Oyster type. Looking like they are flying up. Hopefully in before EOY

We are in the process of buying a house there as well. They told us there will be a show house available in mid September and we can do a site visit then.

The agent reiterated the November move-in. I won't say I'm not skeptic. These things take time, so many factors at play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,010 ✭✭✭WhiskeyGoblin

We're hoping for the same, from our understanding the builders solicitors are processing HTB applications so hopefully that is indicative of it being this year at least. But it's a new build so external factors may push that out. Fingers crossed all the same!

We've gotten multiple timelines and speculative show house ready times but so far none have come to fruition so rightfully skeptical on that front too lol

Was down at the Hawksbay site earlier today. Things seem to be progressing well.

Folks who moved to Meadow Hill, how do you like it there?

Do you like the overall quality of buildings?

    Is there a fiber broadband?

I was a bit surprised that it's not as well advertised as some other estates nearby..

Hi all... Interested in moving to Wicklow Town, and three recently renovated townhouses in the town centre caught our eyes.. 3, 4 and 6 The Mall, offered by Forkin. Any thoughts on living right in the town, location of these properties or any info? I know these are not estates, so not sure if this is the right forum.

My mam lived 5 minutes up the road. Not directly on the main street but along same road. She loved it. Its a quiet town and to be fair **** all open late. a lovely town.
