Same here! Did a retro mod on the electrics. The motor is originally 12V with a super heavy lump of a 12V lead acid battery. Kept the motor as it was working fine, but setup a 36V system, with modern controller, throttle with ignition key and modern light and small lithium ion battery. But the mechanics are not my thing, good bit of work there still. Buyer got a bargain though!

Let's keep the momentum going folks, make me an offer! If you don't want to do it in public, feel free to PM me. Trade ins / swaps possibly accepted, but please don't be insulted if it isn't for me.

Cameron now dropped to lowest price in the world. Sold some other stuff, so don't really need the cash anymore, but I've been thinking of selling now for quite some time, so might as well get on with it. Want to buy a blue Planet Ocean 45.5mm next

Hi, I am selling my Rolex Explorer II. It's priced strong on adverts to avoid constant low ball offers. The condition is mint. There is a still a small sticker near the clasp. I have worn it around 10 times. I am only selling as another watch came up and I need to move one on. I will sell for €10,750 for anyone here. I have checked chrono (European Union) and I'm happy this is a fair price. Full set.

fair play if you can get that for it.Any number of them on chrono for under 10k and then the seller loses 6% as well.

there was a white dial version, which would be in higher demand than the black dialed version on sale for less than 8k euro on TZ last week.

I was offered a current model Explorer II polar (far more desirable than the black), mint, full set, for €8.5k recently. Price before negotiation. Had I sold the Cameron at that stage, I probably would have bought it.

Interesting thanks. I was using this filter.

It doesn't matter what the actual year is really and there is very little difference between the current model 226570 and the previous one 216570, even though the newer model is better proportioned imho because of the wider lugs

Yeah. Probably doesn't but the condition is as new. Always find it interesting if you aren't cheaper than anyone else in the world you're too expensive. That watch in Italy is excluding shipping costs etc. It may not the cheapest one in the world but it's a fair price. Not sure everyone here goes onto done deal or carzone before selling their car to make sure not one car is cheaper out there.

A fair price is what it will sell for.. unfortunately these day's that's usually less than sellers expectations. I've seen Rolex explorers now going closer to 4k sterling.. it's not long ago I was looking at one locally for 8500 euro

it's friendly advice you are free to try and get what you can for it but at over 9.5k you haven't a prayer imo

Your explorer 2 is no different to anyone else's if the condition is the same why would anyone pay more than what they can get one for? I'd wager the current wait list for a new one isn't too long either.

For a desirable steel sport, you will likely get more than the cheapest in the EU on chrono. For a medium desirable one like a polar explorer or a Cameron, you'd do well to get about the same as the cheapest advertised worldwide. And for the least desirable ones you haven't a hope of getting that.

That watch was 1st one that sprung to mind when I saw Watch_fan's asking price. More desirable and 2.75k cheaper. A flight over to pick it up or an address in NI and VAT isn't a worry either.

what interesting is that in the current market you thinking one of the dogs of the Rolex steel sports catelogue (still a lovely watch but most people want a sub/daytona/gmt over it) is above retail on a private second sale in the current market.

As the seller you can ask what you want. But you were “happy” the price is fair yet in a 2 minute search people have demonstrated it’s at least 25 percent over priced.

Are you willing to sell at 8k is the question now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 2,614 ✭✭✭Fitz II

10 - 20% under retail on that private. Its just not an in demand watch in a time when the in demand watches are not selling. That it is nearly new is irrelevant, you can make any watch that doesnt need welding new for about 300 euro, that it. There are 2022 Subs on adverts asking your "friends price"…..

My advice put the watch up for 500 euro more than the lowest price you would take if you want to sell it, if not hope you find somebody fresh out of cryosleep from 2022. Generally, people dropping 8-12k on a watch are savy enough, and while a high asking price may deter low balls, it deters genuine offers in equal measure.

Was a scam. Buyer visited my house, paid via bank transfer (or so he said, showed me pic on his phone), so I was waiting for the funds to clear into my bank account, but he gave me a wrong phone number and is not responding to app messages and then blocked me. Not sure why he bothered. I doubt anyone selling anything of this sort of value would simply trust the buyer and give them the item to take away? Obviously I didn't.

    So…still for sale…

Wheres the gain from that one ? Apart from now knowing where the watch is I suppose but a bit over the top for a 12k watch .I’d be keeping on top of house security for the next while though .
Did he expect you to hand it over before cleared funds?
