I bought a packet last week, they are nice enough, prefer the relish ones still!

I got the fig rolls that were on the app. Really weird soapy taste off them. Don’t know if they changed recipe but absolutely inedible

Have Lidl stopped stocking their decaf nespresso pods? Been months without them and tried multiple stores.

Very nice inexpensive French style saucisson in Lidl atm. Classic, hazelnut or Beaufort cheese.

Only had the hazelnut one. It's delicious and only around €3.50

I got this German mustard a while back (not sure if it's available now). It's very sweet, but makes for a lovely salad dressing. (I also love the label!)

As the steak thread is closed, another vote here for the Lidl aged steak. Was always a superquinn butchers counter man but tonight’s Lidl fillet was unreal

I tried the Lidl Biltong today. Loved it. Great protein snack. Its around €3.50, so a bit pricey, but I will def get a few packs at my next visit. I will try a pack of their Beef Jerky as well.

Anybody know if they are still selling coconut water? Haven't seen it in there in a while and the space where it used to be in the fridge seems to be taken by something else now

I like the Glensallagh corned beef, the one sold in slices. Way better than that thin and overpriced Denny stuff. Good in a sandwich with Dijon mustard.

I should add, their Ardennes one is decent enough for the price - pork based, more strongly flavoured than branded one such as Horgans.

But the specially selected ones are on another level.

Recommendation to avoid here. I bought a punnet of nectarines last week in my local lidl. The most tasteless nectarines I have ever eaten. Had one the first day and didn't finish it. Left them to ripen a bit more and they are now soft/mushy and remain absolutely tasteless, no sweetness whatsoever. The rest of the punnet went in the bin.

I have noticed the quality accross some products has gone downhill a bit. One onion in the net of large brown onions is always gone off/bad. I've stopped buying them and buy the small pink onions instead. I am always particularly annoyed by the onions because it is always 1 out of three onions and almost always the centre one, it is as if they are just deliberately distributing the bad ones evenly rather than discarding them.

Overall I find the quality in lidl is great, especially the meat, but there are the odd few products to avoid.

Highly recommend the mini rice cakes they have at the minute, ideal for hummus/cheese/avocado or as an alternative to crisps, both the salted and the herb ones are good

It's a pity because the F&V was always something that they were brilliant at when they first opened here but now I'd tend to say that their pre-packaged meat is far superior to the other big supermarket brands.

I'd still prefer the local F&V shop and butcher over all of them though but that comes at a considerable price

I do like Lidl's on the vine tomatoes though. I just wish they brought back the loose roasted almonds... but the bagged nuts are still great value.

Dangerous so... particularly the dry roasted ones. A particular weakness/vice of mine

Nectarine / peach season is over for this year, I find that you get about 6-10 weeks of them being delicious during the summer and then they tail off badly

On nuts: generally, their nuts are good and good value but I particularly like their really cheap salted peanuts in the mostly white bag. Way nicer than KP or the slightly more expensive ones they have in.

Anyone notice if Lidl have pillows and duvet covers at the moment?

My new Lidl is half an hour away and I don't want to go walking out on a wasted journey.

Not right now, but they'll have bedlinen and bedsheets available from the 7th, if a quick check of the Lidl Plus app is anything to go by.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Oh, I've never tried their dry roasted… I tend to use nuts for cooking with / meal ingredient rather than snacking. I don't snack for some reason? But maybe with a beer or wine sounds good… I'll check them out, TY!

Has anyone ever used those mattress toppers that are coming in Monday? Any good? Worth €70? Do they give a bit of extra support to the back?

    Thanks.

Mine isn't lidl but I find my topper great. It doesn't say how thick they are in the leaflet but I'd recommend 4 inches/10cm.
