The welcome all brigade crying on every news channel and radio about the inhumane treatment of migrants. When will it sink into their heads that they are the ones who have caused this and are at fault for everything inhuman that is happening. Instead of agreeing Ireland was full they continued to welcome all immigrants . Hate to say it but we told you so. Common sense didn't prevail here.

Those gobshítes are arguably leaving the migrants in a worse state by just keeping collecting migrants like they are Pokemon when there is literally nowhere to put them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,132 ✭✭✭malinheader

Totally agree, there's a certain cohort who have led to the misery and inhumane treatment of immigrants just to prove a point. We should of closed up a good while back until proper facilities were put in place. If a farmer was doing the same with animals they would be locked up, Evidently humans don't matter as much to some.

Some ukranian support network fella on 2fm news earlier saying the new rules for ukranians arriving will lead to squats and illegal campsites springing up.

Government now put up new arrivals for 90 days and give them e39 a week. After 90 days no accomodation provided but full dole e232 each week.

These geniuses in government a full 2 years into this decided to give full dole out. It's just optics to placate Joe public at this stage.

They will also qualify for social housing surely as they wont be able to rent on that income.

O' Gorman really needs to release the medium and long term plan asap.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,132 ✭✭✭malinheader

Here lyes the problem. There is no plan and never was a plan from the start. Totally rudderless government who are Totally out of touch with the problems that everyone of their own citizens are facing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,220 ✭✭✭BlueSkyDreams

Does the 90 day rule apply to City West and other reception centres for IPAs?

I think it does but not 100% sure.

The govt will be able to see how many people are housed in reception centres and when their transfer date falls due, into standard housing.

I seem to recall there was discord between the housing minister and O'Gormans dept because it could be said the problem of accomodation moves from one dept to the other after the 90 day period.

Hopefully O'Gormans plan includes joined up thinking with the housing dept, so those transferring from reception centres can be accomodated in advance of their 90 day date.

But where is the accommodation going to come from after the 90 days. Tents???.

The country is full , and our services swamped. Our services cannot deal with our own citizens needs. Time to close up.

Thats the question O'Gorman needs to answer. I hope it will mostly be social housing and we dont have to resort to tents.

But I really dont know and wouldnt speculate.

    Another record week (wk10) 462

It's okay though, Roderic is going to ride in on his trusty steed and save the day. Phew!

Social housing. We can't provide social housing for our own citizens who have been on waiting lists for years.

It will be like the reception centres themselves that were never put in place. Total farce.

Just build massive centres in curragh and few other locations with medical facilities and put a few thousand in there and fence it off and feed them and give them a bed.

They should have some way of integrating that with Ukranian arrivals as its obviously not the full picture.

The biggest thing I learnt today was that St Patrick was an undocumented asylum seeker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,132 ✭✭✭malinheader

Or just close up taking in people in need of housing and services until we get our own country in order. Stop welcoming the world's needy until we can help our own. No more until our housing ,health and education services are managed and working properly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 129 ✭✭LongfordMB

That can't be sustainable given other asylum seekers are on 110 if not given accommodation

I imagine after the EU directive runs out in 2025 they'll drop Ukrainians down then to exactly the same as every other asylum seeker. But only after we've attracted yet more tens of thousands into the country.

He's like a 14 year old who thinks he's making a clever point in class but is actually just embarrassing himself.

On the upside at least he's admitting these fraudsters we're receiving are undocumented. It is baffling, it's like they're trying to convince us to just put up with the illegal activity and human trafficking

VM1 doing a segment on the tents now.

Some NGO bladdering on to Doherty about it.

Looks the homeless people are sh*tting on the street itself according to this programme.

Disgusting. Can they not walk to a toilet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,114 ✭✭✭Gen.Zhukov

I wonder which FG crony got the contract for tents and sleeping bag supplies

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,237 ✭✭✭✭Galwayguy35

Wait until they bring O Riordain in, this seems to be his new pet project.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,723 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

That Labour guy on The Tonight Show, what planet is this guy fecking living on

We're full, there's no accommodation left.

These immigrates shouldn't be priorities over Irish homeless either.

These immigrates should have their asylum processed quickly and fecked out of the country

What are European countries supposed to do when African countries are going through a population explosion and their people are so desperate that Ireland looks like a paradise, even with free tents and some pocket money they’re probably better off here.

It’s looking like we’ll need a new type of immigration Garda unit that will be dedicated just to rounding up illegal immigrants.

Where do they get deported to though, send them all to Rwanda like the UK if they won’t go back to their own country?

how bad will it get, I get the feeling this is only the beginning, countries like Nigeria are out of control, they could send 10 million people and hardly notice. And there are many more countries out of control.

All it will take is a war or a famine/drought in one of those countries and there will be a massive increase in the numbers looking at Ireland as a much better chance at life, our country will be absolutely destroyed, just imagine what that kind of immigration would bring when we have such an accommodation crisis already.

There has been a famine and wars for the last 100 years.

Ireland has become increasingly left and woke the last 5 years thanks to Roderic O Gorman who invited every scam artist to our shores on the internet.

Every country has a right to protect its own borders and that’s what Ireland needs to start doing.
