    Same as Durham.

Charged with finding something that isn't there.

    Fail miserably.

Do their best with **** all and publish a partisan hack job in an effort to please their masters.

Get slated by Dems and Republicans.

    Leave in disgrace.

Trump is a complete bullshitter, and I thought I had become immune to being angry about it, but this is somehow infuriating

    GIhHYGFaQAAwWiw.jpeg

Lying about reports and their content is sadly standard for him, but the AI thing?

I guess it is the realisation that we're going to be hearing a lot more about this as a "go to" whenever there's a video of him saying what he absolutely said.

You know if it had of been around when the inauguration happened, he would have used that as an excuse.

Clearly he "made it" in business by lying through his teeth with little consequences, but for a light to be shone on it only highlights what a dishonest grifter he truly is.

When will be ever **** off?

There's also a degree of accusing others of what you are guilty of: this election cycle's gonna be awash with AI and deep fake everywhere; doubtless of Biden saying or behaving senile. Not like Twitter's moderation is better since Musk's takeover and doubt anything was learned after the Taylor Swift deepfake debacle.

    Of course!

Actually, he's already done it with the picture of him and some people of colour just last week 😳

So Congress slowly flips Blue, while I believe the Senate might go Red in November? If so, the system is so batty and broken it defies sense the country can function at all.

If could be potentially worse for Boebert too. Apparently to join the Special Election, she would need to first give up her current seat, and trigger a Special Election there too. This results in:

    • Boebert leaving congress now, with a strong chance that she won't win that Special Election, thus keeping her out.
    • Leaving Boebert with an even more reduced chance of taking that seat in November if she doesn't win the Special Election.
    • Creating as chance that her own seat will be flipped to blue early if she leaves it now.

The GOP don't need Boebert in CO-4. Frankly the GOP might realise that they don't really need Boebert at all. As we've seen with the State of the Union response, it's not like they're short of Stepford Wives to create the illusion of them actually giving a damn about women.

They are holding the Primary for November on the same day as the Special Election and it's not clear if you can stand in both which all seems very confusing.

So if someone wins the Special Election does that automatically qualify them for November?

If a different person wins the primary then would the GOP have two candidates?

Buck seems to have f*cked them in many different ways , which is awesome...

Trump's GQP, Y'all Qaeda and Talibama have moved beyond just saying the quiet part out loud. They are now literally screaming it.

White Christian and "pure" I wonder how long it will be until you need a genealogy confirming 4 white WASP grandparents before you can enter the party?🤔

100% and also doesn't remotely understand "Artificial Intelligence" in any way shape or form.

Him not having much in the way of intelligence , artificial or otherwise doesn't help here either.

Great news. TFG running the RNC - it'll end up like all his businesses; in court, bankrupt and a laughing stock. If he horks the RNC this cycle, expect lots of down-level gains by the Democratic party as the RNC will be too messed up to pay attention to anything other than the orange smegmite

Artificial Intelligence used to create Artificial Lack of intelligence? Now thats just dumb.

People will believe him. I'm surprised cries of deep fake aren't much more common every time a politician says something they regret.

Hopefully yes. If the Dems can get their heads down, stay alert & keep the election systems free of MAGA / Lindell-esque nonsense, and most important of all get the vote out. Then yes, this might be good.

The MAGAs are a completly lost cause now. We knew this long ago, and the fact that they have no issue at all with Trump being crowned King-Emperor of the Americans goes to show what little hope can be left for them. This crowd could be shown "The Nazis - A Warning from History" and mistake the contents as a motivational video. There might be a way to de-nazify them one day, but for now they need to be defeated at the ballot and then held back with prepared force when they attempt another coup.

In the preferred scenario where Trump loses again, I fully expect him to attempt a repeat of the last 4 years, but this time with a MAGA-fied GOP going through the motions with him until either prison or nature takes him. I hope they suffer considerable defeats in November and spend at least the next decade trying to rebuild after the mess they have made of themselves.

There's nothing artificial about trump's lack of intelligence

How many millions will Lara Trump spend from the RNC coffers swanning around in private jets?

And how much will be indirectly funneled to Trump via them deciding to use Trump properties for outrageous rates?

The Trumps will bleed them dry and they absolutely deserve it..

Not only that but by putting his supporters in charge of the RNC, it's going to filter through the entire GOP for years to come, where even after Trump has either lost or gone, people of that ilk will promote other MAGAs and the GOP will become fully MAGAd.

They are really throwing the entire party in after Trump, and if he sinks, so too will the GOP for the next few election cycles.

There's one worrying aspect that might come out of a Trump led stripping of GOP funds: if the coffers as empty after Trump leaves them high and dry, that'll leave a corporate party suddenly even more susceptible to funding from questionable outside sources or lobby groups. It may not have them returning to the centre hut become even more extremist

Fulton County Judge whittles down 3 of Trumps charges in the Georgia case for lack of sufficient legal detail

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 37,983 ✭✭✭✭Penn

    From a different article:

"As written, these six counts contain all the essential elements of the crimes but fail to allege sufficient detail regarding the nature of their commission, i.e., the underlying felony solicited. They do not give the Defendants enough information to prepare their defenses intelligently," McAfee wrote.

"Prepare their defenses intelligently".... As if that was ever a possibility regardless...

Streamlining your case is usually a good step.

Allows you to focus on your stronger arguments and allows the judge more time to hear them.

Plus, it can lead to an earlier trial.

What I thought ,but I read that it may indicate also that the judge does not expect the case to be heard before the election.

And ,after the election ,who knows if the case will be allowed to proceed (or its decision to be respected)?

This one is in the State courts, TFG can't do anything about it even if it's elected POTUS.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,955 ✭✭✭amandstu

Can he go to jail if found guilty? Would it be grounds for re impeachment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 15,705 ✭✭✭✭Igotadose

Of course he can go to jail. Be some kind of special Jail that allows secret service protection; house arrest, something. Personally I think he'd be fine in solitary @ Gitmo but that's me.

As for whether it's grounds for a future impeachment, he'd need to be elected again, then the whole impeachment process kicked off and completed. It's not necessarily grounds for re-impeachment, that's up to Congress to decide. If the tragedy occurs and he's reelected, and Congress is still functioning after that, I'd imagine once there's a Democratic majority in the House TFG'll have done something that's grounds for another impeachment, but without 66 Senators that'd vote for it, it's pointless. Remember he inspired a mob that might've murdered a few of those Senators given a chance, and they still voted against impeaching him. Mitch McConnell, who said TFG was guilty of stirring up the mob, whose own wife was disparaged after she resigned from TFG's cabinet after the insurrection, who endured 4 years of snipes and insults from TFG, voted not to impeach and just recently endorsed TFG for reelection. And he's the minority leader; he's resigning that gig and what's lined up is likely even less spineful. Hopefully his replacement's stupider and can't conceive of stunts that got Gorsuch on the SCOTUS.

Impeachment's too high a bar to reach - attempted now what, 4 times since the Civil war, 2 of which were Trump, and all of which failed to convict?

If reelected would he still be jailable? Would it just be an academic judgement ,disregarded by his followers and unenforceable by the State of Georgia??
