When you have majority share holder behind you this will go only one way. No matter what people think. Money talks in this world simple. The money is behind Christian that not that I'm happy with reading the text may I add.. Why all the staged pictures and photos over the weekend. We stand with this man. Its like a shot across the bout of a ship. Your move and if you don't parley you go, Simple has that. Its a power struggle. Clear has day in front of our eyes.

FIA will do jack ****. They are much to blame than anyone else. Having GP in Country's were women are forced to stay at home 24 - 7 in Saudi Arabia classed as **** on a shovel. forced into marriages, despised and beaten need I say anymore. What do the call a family home in Saudi Arabia. A house of horrors and that is no joke.

My brother went to Saudi Arabia a number of years ago to work he is a specialist in Italian plastering like a marble finish. He was called out to the prince's palace to do work on it. All went well. But the horror story's he told me when he returned about the way women were treated was horrific.

I can't see Christian going anywhere. That is IF he is 100% innocent in all this, and if he is, he needs to forget Red Bull investigating. He needs to employ the best of the best lawyers and investigators and probably some top notch IT guys and follow the trail back to it's origin.

Christian can well afford all this if he want's it to go away once and for all and show who the instigator is.

    In other news.

Back around 2019/2020 I made light of Charles going to Ferrari. But one member in particular went out of his way to ridicule me and everything I tried to say. Looks like I was correct in my view of Charles.

I have been saying it since last season that Ferrari are backing the wrong horse, and now it appears to be looking that way again.

I sincerely hope Carlos wipes the floor with Charles this season, and gets Perez's seat from 25 on.

"I sincerely hope Carlos wipes the floor with Charles this season, and gets Perez's seat from 25 on."

    Me too.

Would love too see Sergio go to Ferrari then but to do that he is going to have to do good this season just not too good. Better than last season at least but not so good that Red Bull want to keep him. That's what he needs so he can go to Ferrari or at least try. Ferrari will want Charles on full form next year and the clear number 1. They know this year it will be harder to do that as Carlos has to put in good form to secure a seat next year and it would be great to see him at Red Bull.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

    Checo to Ferrari?

He is only going one way and that is out of F1.

Yeah I think if he's going anywhere he'll be ousting an underperforming rookie or Bottas if he moves on from Kick

Marko is in his 80s, might be well on the way out for late retirement.

Crazy photo to pair with the headline on BBC! Gave me a jolt.

I’m not sure given the circumstances of the race and the fact that it’s one race, that I’d put too much emphasis on Bahrain as proving Sainz should have been kept on over LeClerc. Long season to go.

There’s not much to suggest Sainz has been better over their 3 years together. Even in 2023, Sainz got a win but LeClerc got more points over the season despite more DNFs.

There’s definitely a significant expectation gap between the two I feel and LeClerc has never really delivered on all of the promise from his first Ferrari season. The car hasn’t been there for a good stint but rare opportunities have been fumbled too.

I do hope Sainz ends up in the Red Bull next season though. I wouldn’t like to see him potentially lose good years to head up Audi/Sauber and would be a good improvement on Perez.

Sainz had a good result over le clerc at the weekend, but wasn't le clerc driving a dog of a car with massive steering and balance issues that Sainz wasn't dealing with?

For sure but even more reason for a power struggle. If Jos got Horner out and a friendly team manager in, could he see himself inheriting Dr Markos job and getting some control at the team?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,675 ✭✭✭✭Frank Bullitt

Very much, his brakes were out of sync from what I read and one was running hotter than the other by 100 degrees. He did extremely well to finish where he did.

I think it is very premature to call Ferrari backing Leclerc the wrong call at this point, especially after just one race of the season. Sainz has been equally erratic at times in the Ferrari, his start to 2022 wasn't the best...no one was saying anything back then.

I am struggling how someone can say they were right about Leclerc and Ferrari has backed the wrong horse, when it's 2-1 to Leclerc since they have been teammates, and he has more wins during the same period as well.

And the latest rumour in the whole Horner and Red Bull situation, Horner is trying to buy the F1 team and has backers in England for it but the Austrians never knew or were aware of it.

This drama is making up for the lack of racing.

All of this does make up for the processional races we will be getting.

And the other rumour is that Max is on the market if Marko leaves Red Bull, it will activate a clause that he can leave early.

    This is all mad.

I would assume, maybe incorrectly, they Newry would go if Horner did, so wtf would you want to push the two out? It seems insane yo me.

Jos was seen chatting to Toto over the weekend and of course the internet has jumped on Max going to Merc for 2025

Would be some laugh to see Max claim a championship in the Merc ahead of Hamilton at Ferrari.

Doubt it will ever happen- in that I can't see Max at another team.

Would max leave if Marko retires? Perhaps you could see it if Marko was kicked from the team, but if he retires I don't see Max suddenly wanting to leave.

For all the criticism Sergio gets he still finished second in Bahrain and second in the championship last year, put someone like Lando into the red bull and Max in say the Merc, I'd have Lando favourite to win over a season.

I also think all the brake imbalance issues from Ferrari are just to save face for Charles finishing behind Carlos, personally I don't think Charles has the mental fortitude to win over the season, it will be interesting next year with Lewis in the car with him, i think they'll cannibalise each others opportunities too much for either of them to be able to win the championship, even if Max wasn't in a red bull

That's actually old news rehashed. This was plan b of Red Bull decided to walk away. What's the price for this team? 2 billion?

It's gotten some wind behind it again it seems.

No idea how much it would cost, I imagine it involves the new engine department as well.

I think Verstappen runs down the contract till 2028 and leaves F1 for a series like gt,wec etc. He's achieved what he wanted in F1 so everything now is a bonus

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 16,243 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

I would imagine so, seems to be the talk. Challenge himself outside of F1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,020 ✭✭✭✭PsychoPete

He doesn't seem like he wants to be hanging around in F1 till he's near his 40's. If you are going to try a different racing series then may aswell do it when youth is on your side

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,675 ✭✭✭✭Frank Bullitt

With all the talk of Newey leaving Red Bull with all of this as well, I could see him stepping away from F1 overall and head off to design boats and things like that, he has been around for years now.

Watch now, with all of this carry on with who will leave and crisis...nothing will really happen.

Sainz has beaten Leclerc over weekends in the past. Bahrain is a sample set of one so can't really draw any conclusions based on it. Even Bottas had a couple of weekends a year where he beat Hamilton fair and square too. He's a decent driver and a thoroughly likeable guy. But he's not as fast as leclerc over a season. They're a bit like the tortoise and the hare. Sainz isn't as fast outright and leclerc wins the quali battle over a season. But both the tortoise and the hare have big weaknesses. Tip-top drivers are fast and consistent.

Sainz has had a few shockers where he goes on a run of poor form, and that's not good enough to be a top driver. In short, I like him so I wish he was faster than he is.

Wouldn't surprise me if Adrian did step away that he would be snapped up by some ev manufacturer.
