Amend License for a Moderator

I'm looking at amending one of my licenses so I can use my moderator on it. How would I go about that? There isn't anything that I can see in the FCA2 form about moderators or anything similar so I'm a bit loss.

Just to clarify, I already have an "S" for a moderator on another license, but I'd like to use that moderator on this particular firearm. I realize that I can just screw it on to the firearm in question, but I want everything to be above board and legal. Thanks.

Have a chat with your FO.

Some will add it straight onto pulse and reissue the licence, others will require you to put in a letter justifying why, and still more helpful ones will tell you no, you need to reapply for one or wait until your next renewal 😋

To amend any license you generally use the FCA2 however the only way to use that form for this purpose is to leave pretty much everything blank and in the last bit of section 1 where it says "Reason for amendment" just write in something along the lines of :

"I am currently licensed to use a suppressor on my other firearm (provide cert number) and wish to use it on this firearm so require my license to be amended to include the authorisation in the form of the S".

The second option is to go to your FO and ask can they reprint the license with the S on it, and have a list of reasons with the above explanation.

Be aware that applying for a suppressor after the firearm is technically a new application for a firearm and if the FO a stickler they may demand you apply on an FCA1 and even pay the €80 fee.

Update: spoke to my FO a few days ago and ironed out a few queries he had. Application has been sent into the super with a recommendation for approval.

Nothing very significant, just minor parts. Took issue with me stating I was legally allowed to use a moderator on a non restricted firearm I wasn't licensed on, since a rimfire mod is non restricted, provided I was shooting on an authorized range. Didn't actually do that, so I let it go. Also took issue with me saying I had 6 in the gun for T&P, and though that would make it a restricted firearm. Told him I had 5 in the mag and 1 in the chamber making it non restricted. Happy days. Hopefully will get it soon enough, might have to have a chat with a super down the county as there's none in the local station at the moment. Nothing I'm not used to.

Final Update: got the new license in the post today with the "S" on it. Just under 3 and a half months end to end.

Congrats, glad you got there in the end!

Its important to push for these things, even if we are continuously frustrated by the PTB.
