    Hi there,

Been looking for Safari trips for a family of 4 , kids are 8 and 12.

These guys look good : Safarisinkenya.net

Any recommendations? Just that I have no guarantees here when I pay my money ... I am concerned about being scammed etc...

    Thanks

I dont know anything about the above site..

But I used this crowd in 2009 and again in 2013.. https://uniglobeletsgotravel.com/ They are based in Nairobi.

I booked while I was on the ground at their office. If I recall correctly, I paid a deposit to the travel agent, and the balance at the camp site on arrival.

I did a package that included flights from Wilson Airport to the Masai Mara, and half board accommodation and park entrance fees.

Everything went smoothly so I could only recommend them.

I was In Kenya for Safari last year and arranged with these guys - excellent service and organisation throughout - https://www.gamewatchers.com/

If you go to Tanzania from Kenya you'll need yellow fever certificate - if you go to just Kenya or Tanzania then there'll be less vaccines.

As with other posters flights in and out to Safaris and Zanzibar from Wilson Airport - very smooth transfers.

When I go again it'll be to Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania.

Loved my trip though - amazing experience!

How about card payments in Kenya ?

I remember in Namibia they were a bit sketchy, am I best off taking lots of Kenyan money …

We booked through Travel Counsellors and travelled in 2022 to Tanzania. The first few days were spent in Tarangire National Park and Ngorongore Crater and our guide Beatus was excellent and has since established his own tours: https://thepassionateguides.com/

We then linked up with this crowd for the second part of the trip: https://www.tentwithaview.com/ and stayed at their two Serengeti camps (and also their Zanzibar hotel). They were incredible.

I used intrepid back in 2013/2014. Went from Kenya to Tanzania. Stayed in tents in Serengeti and Ngorongore. While odd time you got a bed in a school of sorts like building. It wasn’t a comfort trip but knew that before booking. Dollar was what we bring. Took us a good while getting out of Nairobi airport. Crossing into Tanzania it was buy visa on arrival and price depended on the person. I paid $50 and wife was $100 but her visa had 50 stamped on it. I assume he just pocketed the 50. Can’t remember the number of jabs we got but it was a good amount and then the malaria tablets
