Google the attack of Kieran Farrelly in 2014 and you'll get it.

Surely he was still inside on the murder charge. How could he have been out for this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 120 ✭✭Captain Fantastic 1984

In the article it says he had been inside for a "savage assault on a man". Now it may not be him but it definitely ties in with her. In another group I'm in her name is bein mentioned time and time again. She apparently has a very displaced lifestyle and goes from place to place. In other words drug den to drug den. Its absolutely her, whether its the same bloke or not is a different story. She may have easily hooked up with some other junkie to do whatever they were doing and whatever they did that night to Tony.

Not for the website or where it's based but for certain people they may not want to name people they know in case of ..you know.. Nicola Tallant and the intelligence agencies getting into off these things. Most of who I talk about are dead or long inactive . But I wasn't expecting videos about Mr S until he was just the next guy dead, but I know a kid who couldn't visit his grannies house in case it was shot up.because of this amateur dipping into the funds to gamble and buy houses and cars to show off

Last bit outside a school here

"Former drug baron Kevin ‘Maxi’ McAlorum went to his grave without achieving his dying wish — getting justice for his murdered nine-year-old daughter.

Battling ill-health and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), the one-time major criminal spent his final years trying to expose what he believed was the cover-up around Barbara McAlorum’s killing.

However, he passed away aged 72 last week without fulfilling his final wish, despite knowing the names of the INLA gunmen who pulled the trigger.

Barbara was shot dead in a 1996 attack at Maxi’s home, off the Antrim Road in north Belfast, while she played with a jigsaw puzzle. Images of the schoolgirl being buried in her communion dress are among the most harrowing from the Troubles.

Her INLA killers were hunting her older brother, Kevin McAlorum Jnr, who had sparked an internal feud in the terror gang when he murdered its leader Gino Gallagher three months before.

They eventually caught up with Kevin Jnr in 2004, gunning him down outside the gates of Oakwood Integrated primary school in south Belfast. "

The Barbara McAlorum killing was by drive by through the front window, doesn't make it any less murder but they didn't deliberately target her. It's almost like that can happen when you indiscriminately spray a house with gunfire from a car driving by

I would imagine this rules out the dissident hitman for hire theory. Will know more once the name is published.

53 year old still being held but not charged at this stage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 702 ✭✭✭Paul_Crosby

so if it's a story about the INLA and the KInahans and making French Thompson's bowels empty, then that's gangland and A-OK, if I'm pointing out the last murder to take place outside a school (in North before at lease Declan Smith) before JD Donegan the gangland drug dealer who who got seven put in him by the INLA, a still relevant topic ,was an INLA man ,shot outside a school by the INLA

That's not relevant at all eh? Pure shite Is it? Is that "political" and not "gangland" even though dissident republicans aren't a gang and they're front gang centre in "gangland" news all the time, hey , you might ask, "what is gangland ayway?"

in yeah copying an lasting articles which give broader context and information, did you survive a shot to the head yourself mate?

Why would it rule out a dissident hit theory, there are young dissidents

And it can be easy to get lost it you don't know the area, there was local knowledge and again no getaway car

15 Organised Crime Networks under investigation by specialist garda unit | Independent.ie

Are they now amalgamating crews for investigative processes along the lines of who they are associated with? Because 15 sounds an incredibly low figure- there would be historically 3-5 in Limerick and Cork each, 3 or 4 different groupings in Finglas alone etc etc.

This sounds like "there's 17 crews supplied by and who do work for the Kinahans, right we'll call all these The Kinahan OCG"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,304 ✭✭✭tomhammer..

Doesn't matter all that much probably

Once the demand and profit is there ,there'll be a supply

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 361 ✭✭Cheddar Bob

Yes but we see things about the Kinahan OCG that casts a rather wide net.

Like at one point TB had apparently taken up a contract on JOC's life.

Yet both would have been regarded in Garda intel as prominent Kinahan OCG associates.

The staff Christmas dos must have been wild.

True but the old dunne saying was correct

It gets more violent and supply continues

Ya you’re right, might be dissidents after all. 53 year old local charged today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 361 ✭✭Cheddar Bob

I saw two of the Collopys were up on a very minor charge today and the addresses given indicated that they lived very close by to each other., and I remembered hearing that one feature of the Limerick feuds was that the council had housed far too many brothers and cousins in the same estate prior to the feud era, and the children who made their mark in the gangland era would then "persuade" neighbours to sell up for a pittance and turn the place effectively into some sort of tribal colony.

Just out of curiousity I decided to have a look at the north of the King's Island in Limerick on Google Streetview.

I doubt there's anywhere like it on this island. In some ways it looks a bit like Belfast in the 70s only those areas often had been largely abandoned.

It looks as if every 10th house is simply boarded up, and maybe another 10% they haven't bothered as the house is more for tossing than renovating.

Every street has a few houses blurred out, often a sign the owner is someone who has enemies and wants no record of their home's appearance on a public forum lest it be used as help in targeting it.

Rows of terrace then inexplicable gaps of what one can only assume is where a house once stood before a fire.

Every local caught by the camera seems to be staring the Google men down.

Are there many regular folk left living there? I don't care what anybody says there is nowhere in Dublin that looks anywhere half as run down or intimidating as that estate.

St. Mary's Park (Limerick) - Wikipedia

    Probably circa 1400 odd residents.

700 males. Exclude children and pensioners you're probably talking 400 adult men of prime age (late teens to 50s). How many active, serious criminals would be living up there?

Honestly never seen the like of it in this country, half tempted to go up and have a look if Im ever in Limerick again.

St Mary's Park is almost a no go area. Extremely deprived area.

How did Limerick end up with so many deprived areas in the 00s?

I know it's changed now but it wasn't a particularly deprived city. Lots of employment, universities, port, airport etc.
