Mace head recording snow and 0c at 6pm. Not too often that happens with its exposed location to the ocean.

Folks- what are the chances of a dusting of snow in south Dublin tonight?

    Snowballs chance in hell? 😆

Look at all those showers going to waste in the Irish Sea. I also feel sorry for people in Southern England missing out on the snow going to France

Some really beefy looking clouds/showers off the west coast of Scotland heading south.

It was never in doubt. The Northerly had your name on it. Nice one!

Very lucky, Nacho. It was one shower that travelled through West Galway and to my exact location in Clare. Northerlies usually result in showers dying over Galway Bay or the hills of the Burren before they reach me so I was not expecting it. Kids are happy. I have already started my next chase by looking for signature 850 markings at 380 hours on the GFS. No surrender until everyone gets their snow!

    WE GOT SNOW IN KERRY!

Well rain turned to graupel turned to snow, had been below freezing, 0.6C atm, stayed just below 3C today so roads going to be tricky in the morning.

My brother just posted this from Ballyduff, north Kerry! Light snow shower in past half hour and settling! I did not expect the South West to see any snow in this spell.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Looks like a lot of North Kerry including Tralee are in the firing line per the 7.15pm precipitation radar!

I hope so especially for me as I've had no snow yet 😩

It sounds like this northerly felt it had something to prove. Now I will have heard it all if it breaks the Cork snow shield. If I see any pics of snow in Cork I will have too assume it's faked from a snow machine:)

A lot of high topped shower clouds to our north. Are they going to come down across the country early tomorrow or are they going to head south-eastwards into northern England?

Brilliant Wolf, well deserved. Started your first thread, might hit 100k views and ends with the white stuff for you. Who would have guessed Clare with a northerly at the beginning of all this. The wait goes on in Meath.

If this cold spell has brought anything for prospects in February/March to my locality, the sea temperature in Dublin Bay has dropped from 8.5C last Wednesday to 7.1C now so there would be less modification. Probably would be graupel or something else though knowing what it's like here. Most of the time takes an exceptional event to get anything decent here but that's the con of living on the door of the sea which I will take with the extra sunshine (not a lot, it's Ireland after all) and the coastal views daily.

It's great this spell has delivered for some. I'm definitely not jealous. Sligo in the past half hour..

A lot of snow showers to come for many yet. Maybe not the East and Southeast but the rest of us who get rain every time ye get sun deserve it.

The only thing I'm afraid of is winds going NW and modification resulting in greens instead of pinks on netweather

Go on the Wolfe. Wev a Wolfe now but wheres the frog?

Galway City could do with some!

Glad to see some accumulations finally, amazing how many had declared this over before it started, we've become a very negative bunch.

From today can make out the snow fields in the N , NW and W and some mountain top snow in in places, some lingering fog in places too, if it is clear tomorrow could be quite a spectacular Sat Pic.

Some light stuff falling in West Limerick now. Not sticking but the 7 year old is in her element 😁. Bedtime delayed for a little while.

Not a flake this winter near Carrick-on-Shannon. The snow shield will have to pop soon 😭

About 5cm accumulated here after that last shower.

Strongly assume showers will die out at Kerry border but just beginning to get interested all the same.... It was a flow like this from the NW that delivered great snow to Cork city on 17 December 2010....

Had to go into Tralee this evening and when I was heading home got stuck on a hill to my house and abandoned the car. Thankfully I could reverse in off the road against a house boundary wall.
