Barry was let off the hook in the 2nd, but I assume will easily kick on to win now.

Not an impressive showing though (stating the obvious, I know)

Hard to see the winner of this troubling MVG in the next round.

Just regarding Rivera's pace, I'm used to seeing players slow in the throw, but so slow to get on the oche and fetch the darts..... I don't recall anyone dallying so much. I see Russ Bray has looked over his shoulder a couple of times wondering where he is.

Has Barry just conceded this set to get the darts in the next? He's second best by a long way here.

.... He had the darts in this set.... Wow

In fairness, Rivera could be winning this if his doubles were better. This is far from over.

Barry really does miss a lot of doubles, and by some margin.... Rarely on the wire.

If he gets through I couldn't even see him winning a leg against mvg.

Made a meal of it, but a nice checkout to win. Will be great to see him play MVG.

Good win in the end for Barry. The faster pace against MVG will suit him

That's right up there with the least enjoyable games in the history of Ally Pally.

Whitlock's game has completely fallen apart.

Could be the last we witness him at Ally Pally.

for someone like him not to be in the top 64 of the Pro Tour OoM and fail to qualify for the Players Championship finals is a disaster.

The 65-96 qualifier field seems very mediocre so far.

Would have expected it to be much stronger in its 6th worlds.

I'd say it's the international element of the qualification that causes it. Which is a worthy idea obviously and not something they are going to change - but I'd suspect there are many North of England players more capable than some of these lads who won qualifiers in the India, The Caribbean etc.

Queen Fallon Sherrock on tonight, sky probably creaming themselves

Yes, but then you can hardly call it a world championship if you get rid of the world representation.

Illagan always looks awkward with the sleeves rolled up.

Should get some Aussie Rules shirt and be done with it.

I love watching Ilagan, he's always entertaining. Great fight back

Campbell more than capable of giving Wade a game

Could be wrong but think Dylan Slevin was only playing pub darts only a year or so ago

Some going for a young lad and hope he plays well tonight

Slevin throwing some good darts here

Had a dart for a two set lead, all square now.

This set would be even better if was for the match, poor to lose last set

Then dragged back to lose the set

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,629 ✭✭✭shockframe

Slevin didn't impress me watching him this year but he's actually played alright here.

Just unfortunate to play someone who normally does well at Ally Pally.

Disappointing in the end. He had his chances to win but missed some crucial doubles. The experience will definitely stand to him going forward.
