Leinster have been poor against a Sale second strong.

Need a big second half. The opposition is still down a man for the opening five minutes.

Terrible first half performance very sloppy and Frawleys kicking from hand has been terrible

I believe there is a very strong wind, which was against Leinster in the first half. It might explain some of the kicks.

Based on what, a poor kick? Whole team has been average to poor.

Scene was set right from the kick off which wasnt claimed. Slowly clawing our way back in. Handling and accuracy pitiful I'm the first half.

McCarthy instead of Jenkins has made big difference already.

Referee forgot that he gave Sale their final warning for infringements in their 22.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,401 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Trh originated from the Sale player dropping a knee on VDF.

Delighted to see shithousery like that punished.

JGP bombed a certain try there.

Charlie Ngatai is a great impact sub

    He has been poor again.

on top of that knock on his kicks havent been great and Missed a poor tackle to let sale gain 50 metres.

Prendergast just put in our best kick all night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,401 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

First half was poor, but we were comfortably better in the second. McCarthy and Ngatai were excellent off the bench.

You can see what Leinster are trying to do in defensively. They're up very hard and fast to flood the midfield with potential tacklers. At times it has worked excellently and stalled any momentum Sale had built up. But their timing has been off in a few occasions and Sale have been able to play around or over the line. A few more months under Nienaber's tutelage and that will be sorted.

Any buzz on extending Ngatai? Always stands out to me.

Judging by how he pulled up, I'm not sure he will be playing for a while.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,401 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Looks like he has just done his knee ligaments so that's up in the air.

I agree. I think he did ok. He had lots of scrappy ball but managed it well. Ball from the 9 was ok but some of the open play stuff that he was served up was the definition of hospital pass.

yea, that was bad timing on that. Hopefully he makes a full recovery, he’s a rolls royce.

Unforgivable giving up 14 points at the end. No intel on the flyer who came on for Sale?! Gutted for Ngatai. Hope it's just a twist but did not look good. Him and big Joe were immense when the came on.

A much improved second half, great impact subs.

Thanks again @Dave_The_Sheep for the tickets.

The co captains things is mess I think.

It's fine having co-captains for the squad , but on match day , just pick one and get on with it.

The referees clearly don't like it.

Leinster dominated the second half. Completely blew Sale away in contact on both sides of the ball.

It's frustrating that we allowed them two soft trys right at the end, but overall I thought it was a decent performance. The side will improve with more time spent under Nienaber. At the minute they're not quite there when it comes to the rush defence.

Attacking patterns need some work as well. But I think some of that might be down to Ross Byrnes absence. He's a significantly better 10 than Frawley.

If Harry isn't back for the next game it had to be Prendergast at 10. Frawley is a great player but he's a 12 playing 10.

Can't wait to watch this one. After reading the posts in the 2st half, I thought we was fecked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,269 ✭✭✭Must love hardship

Or maybe you give Frawley another opportunity to start a game at 10. Potentially with a different scrumhalf.

Such as? You think Ben Murphy or Gunne will be better than the Irish starting 9?

I like frawley as a player. I'd genuinely consider starting him at 12 over Henshaw. But he's not a 10.

I didn't think Frawley was bad, but I would much rather Prendergast be given time at 10 than him.
