Congratulations! October 2024 I believe, so plenty of time to be offered a post.

What score have people who were called recently. Are they still working on this comp or have they called all they are going to call.

Got result from interview last week and placed 10 on interdepartmental from last batch think it was 3.1 🤔🤔 ... clearance request today for anyone wondering how fast this is moving !!!!

Great news!! That’s what confuses me particularly as an external candidate- how interdepartmental v open works in terms of how posts are offered out. I’m working on the assumption of about 20 AP posts being offered a month, so hopefully not too long.🤞

I was wondering the same thing. I wonder how many are on the interdepartmental list before the move to open stream from batch 3.1. I got OOM 6 on the open stream in batch 3.1 and they told me I’m 13th in line for placement but did this include interdepartmental I wonder now… all v confusing

That's so fast. No way. Do you know what Dept you're doing clearance for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 169 ✭✭res1

You have to complete clearance first before you are assigned.

Oh I get you. I'm 14 on interD so should hear soon enough myself by the rate you got called

Thank you. Do you mind me asking what was your original OOM after the test. Just trying to figure out have they finished shortlisting. Haven't been informed either way

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 Tmea

I can’t remember. I have 1096 in my head. Could that be right? When shortlisted I got 130. I interviewed on 07 Nov. After interview.

I got 6 on the OOM for open stream Dublin.

I think they’ve interviewed a batch in December and I read on here they’ll do another batch after the break. Hope this helps. It’s all v confusing

Can anyone advise if you are moving to new department via the inter departmental stream on promotion, can you carry the balance of your holidays with you or do they have to be used up? Thanks.

Queried this morning. Sharing here as might be useful for some

Candidates are called from Stage 1 to Stage 2 based on their total score.

Candidates who selected regions Dublin (Total Score of 1037 or higher), Kildare (Total Score of 1097 or Higher), Laois (Total Score of 1043 or higher), Meath (Total Score of 1100 or higher), Offaly (Total Score of 840 or higher), Westmeath (Total score of 1077 or higher) and Wexford (Total Score of 1055 or higher) have been brought to the next stage of the recruitment process.

We are currently operating a demand led recruitment approach for this competition, so we are only calling candidates forward when there is a demand from Departments to fill vacancies within regions.

Should there be demand for your chosen region, and we reach your total score from Stage 1 we will be in contact with you via your public jobs message board.

I can confirm that the panel for the AP 2022 competition will remain open until 31st October, 2024.

Do you mind me asking is this for open or interdepartment stream as I did get over 1037 and have Dublin down as an area choice. thanks in advance

I had asked for the status on both open and interdepartmental and that's the response I got 🤷‍♀️ if you've scored more than that, might be worth contacting them

Did you get an email advising you of stage 2 result? It would let you know if you made the shortlist and if so what number. You may have made the shortlist but not high enough to be called for this round of interviews and will get called for a later round of interviews.

Hey, does anyone know the type of questions asked in the ten minutes after the presentation? Thanks

Currently in clearance and it's taking so long! Thought everything was going to be order when they got the reference from my previous employer and would ask to contact my current employer this week, but have turned around today and asked to contact two of my other previous employers and get a character reference from when I volunteered somewhere two years ago. Has anyone had an experience like this? Just really wanted everything sorted ASAP as Christmas is coming up

Wow, that seems much more thorough than I would’ve expected. Could it be because of the particular role you’re being offered? Does it require additional clearance or security vetting? Just thinking out loud.

What your timeline would be for implementation of recommendations and international best practice. Good luck!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40 pip1414

Yes, it does require additional vetting so it could be that. I handed all my documents in 6 weeks ago too, so I just don't know why they're asking for all of this now! My only thoughts are they want these additional references because I have only been in my current job since the middle of August and feel they won't be able to provide a good enough reference or because I currently already work in the public service (but not for a government department)?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 169 ✭✭res1

I dont think there will be any relevance to the fact that you are in public service and not in a Government Department...Im open to contradiction... Certain Departments do require greater clearance Justice/Foreign Affairs possibly...Were you advised it will require additional vetting ? Have you already been advised the dept you will be assigned to and that it requires additional vetting?

pas Have to go back 6 years at a minimum, so for example if you give them three references and they only cover the last 4 years they will ask for more, also the additional clearance for the likes of Justice is a separate thing done after initial clearance and is a form you fill out

You can be provisionally placed before your clearance is complete.

Where are people being placed out of interest? Are Departments currently hiring? Or is it mainly agencies?
