Met Eireann text forecast saying this for Sunday "Sunday will be cold and mainly dry with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees with light breezes."

But the graphics have heavy rain pushing up over the country....

Light rain on and off in South Wicklow at the moment but nothing wintery in the mix yet. Been a lovely dry spell here for the past while so hopefully this forecast mild spell next week doesn't bring us back into another seemingly endless cycle of deluges. I'm fairly neutral about the cold, don't have a particular preference on that but what I do love is the crisp dry weather, the more of that the better.

Meanwhile no headlines about this,it doesn't fit the global warming narrative 👇

The Irish sea shower trains are certainly gathering in the direction of Wicklow and Wexford at the moment

Current wind direction here North northeast which is aiding the trains as its a huge sea fetch all the way up to Sellafield/Cumbria area, ideal in fact for wicklow/wexford if you had it prolonged, you couldn't get better

Lovely to see somewhere nearby get snow at this time of year. Just damp and unpleasant in Dublin/Kildare this morning. Really disappointing to lose the crisp conditions.

Frosty in Galway this morning. This is great weather for reducing water levels everywhere.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

    A dusting possible

    Today

Some frost and icy patches this morning with a light dusting of snow locally across the northeast. Scattered wintry showers will mainly affect eastern counties, with many other areas staying dry with sunny spells and just stray wintry showers. While most of the wintry showers will present as a mix of rain and hail, there is the chance of sleet and snow, especially over higher ground in the East. Highest temperature of 3 to 6 degrees

    Tonight

Tonight will be very cold with a widespread sharp to severe frost and icy stretches. Dry and clear across most areas. However, some scattered wintry showers will move into west Connacht and west Ulster, as well as along parts of the East Coast. Lowest temperatures of 0 to minus 5 degrees.

    Tomorrow

On Friday morning, frost, ice, and any mist or fog will gradually clear with a dusting of snow locally, mainly in the Northwest. The first day of the meteorological winter will be very cold with well scattered wintry showers. Overall dry though with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees in light west to northwest breezes.
