But you would agree that wearing an Irish jersey at one of those marches would pose a serious risk to your safety.

Really desperate situation in the '' Childrens' Graveyard '' now as the hospitals run out of power.

Could be worse, could have called them anti-Israel protests like some Twitter account people love to quote. But I agree, disgraceful headlines. All the arrests so far (90+) were far right protesters.

Israeli government itself revised the figure downward yesterday.

800 of them were civilians. The rest security and military personnel.

It was still a horrific terrorist attack, but it does reinforce the argument about the disproportionate response from Israel.

Israel is not acting to avenge the attack of Oct 7th, they're using that attack to achieve their wider goals, the obliteration of Gaza and the persecution of the Palestinian people.

I'm no genius for figuring this out, they've told us what they needed to happen to allow them to do this, and they've also told us what it is they are doing.

None of that is a surprise, what is is the capitulation of western leadership to facilitate their actions.

It probably wouldn’t be too clever to turn up in a Rangers jersey at one and a Celtic jersey at the other.

"killed"; when it's war it's not murder (that's what the IDF/Hasbara say anyway)

The serving British Home Secretary has tried to ban a march in support of Ukraine. She has stirred up anti-Ukrainian bigotry and used the left wing press to incite far left thugs and gangs to attack the peaceful march. It turns out the Home Secretary's husband has close links to Russia and has members of his family serving in the Russian army.

I'm only joking, people would never stand for such blatant outside interference in domestic matters, that's tin foil hat stuff.

Unless of course "her husband, Rael, is Jewish. “The Jewish community is our community,” she said. “My husband is a proud Jew and Zionist.

“He’s lived in Israel. We have close family members who serve in the IDF"

Seems Israel has an affinity for Home Secretaries.

    So Hamas doesn't murder Israelis?

We have to call it killing?

    Justified killing?

Sorry, you are correct. Thought the figure was 400k child soldiers

Vested interests.. Israel has deep roots but they've somehow managed to pour RoundUp onto their own foliage which leads to their roots. Fatal.

'When its war they let you do it,'

Just an observation that there were some arguments previously that the IDF hasn't murdered anyone, because it's a war. Someone iirc was taking exception to saying the murdered thousands of children. The logical foil to that argument is that Hamas committed an act of war on the 7th, and so... QED, not "murders." Right?

Unfortunately, there's Jewish people who are going to suffer because of the actions of the Jewish state.

A community that was targeted in the past has been put at risk by the very body designed to protect them.

It's a horrible situation for those who are peaceful and disagree with the actions of Nethanyahu.

It appears Israel reduced the number of deaths from 7 Oct from 1400 to 1200 as at least 200 were Palestinians

One child killed every ten minutes in Gaza - WHO Chief (rte.ie)

One child killed every ten minutes in Gaza - WHO Chief

Director General of World Health Organization (WHO) Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has told the UN Security Council that on average in Gaza a child is killed every ten minutes.

Dr Tedros was briefing the Council in a meeting called by the non-permanent member, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The WHO chief reiterated calls for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian access to deliver aid to civilians who, he said, "are not responsible for this violence but are suffering in ways that we in this room cannot imagine."

"As we speak," he said, "there are reports of firing outside the Al-Shifa and Rantisi hospitals."

Dr Tedros said half of Gaza's 36 hospitals and two-thirds of its primary health care centres were not functioning at all.

    ----------

Is every medical facility being attacked? Again, each attack on a hospital is a war crime.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Gaza's largest hospital reports coming under fire (rte.ie)

Gaza hospitals reported being under constant fire and running on nearly exhausted supplies as Israel rejected key allies' condemnation of a rising civilian death toll in the Hamas-controlled territory.

The director of the besieged Palestinian territory's largest hospital, Al-Shifa, said today the compound was struck repeatedly overnight and lost power for hours after its generator was hit.

"We received calls about dozens of dead and hundreds wounded in air and artillery strikes, but our ambulances weren't able to go out because of gunfire," said hospital director Mohammad Abu Salmiya.

Israel has denied targeting hospitals and its army has accused Hamas of using the medical facilities as command centres and hideouts, a charge the Palestinian militant group denies.

The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry said dozens of premature babies at Al-Shifa compound were at risk of dying because the lack of generator fuel meant their incubators could be shut down as fighting raged.

Two premature babies have died due to power cuts at Al-Shifa, Physicians for Human Rights Israel said citing doctors there.

"As a result of the lack of electricity, we can report that the neonatal intensive care unit has stopped working. Two premature infants have died, and there is a real risk to the lives of 37 other premature infants" at Al-Shifa hospital, the Israeli doctors' group said in a statement.

    ---------------

The IDF and Israeli leaders are out of control. Babies for heaven sakes. Sick fcukers.

Daily breaches of International Humanitarian Law.

Everyone calling on Israel to call a ceasefire, why are they not calling for Hamas to release hostages, something that would put the ceasefire back in place? The one Hamas broke on October 7th?

Israel have always had to defend themselves against all their neighbours, intent on getting rid of them, but yet everyone treats them as the aggressor? Or do people just hate them because they win everytime they are attacked?

One can imagine the right wing press are quietly seething this evening. 300,000 people marched in the pro-Palestinian / peace march and it went off completely without incident. Not the outcome they were hoping for.

If Hamas offered to release hostages to have a ceasefire, what action should Israel take?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,935 ✭✭✭amandstu

So Hamas didn't murder anyone ,it was just "killing" after all.

I guess you must be right.

looks like hezbollah are trying everything to drag lebannon into the war

Hezbollah has announced that it is introducing new weapons in its ongoing battles with Israeli troops.

    The Associated Press reports:

The leader of Lebanon’s militant Hezbollah group said Saturday his fighters have introduced new weapons, including a missile with a heavy warhead in the ongoing fighting along the Lebanon-Israel border, adding that they will keep using the tense frontier to pressure Israel.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah also blasted the United States over the Israel-Hamas war, saying it is the only country that can stop Israel’s wide offensive on the Gaza Strip but doesn’t do so. He said attacks on US troops in Iraq and Syria, that Washington says have reached more than 40 rockets and suicide drone attacks, will continue until the war in Gaza comes to an end.

Nasrallah’s comments came as the situation along Lebanon’s southern border continues to escalate. Hezbollah on Friday attacked northern Israel with three suicide drones after an Israeli strike in central Syria killed seven Hezbollah fighters.

Nasrallah did not claim responsibility for a suicide drone attack that hit the Israeli Red Sea town of Eilat on Thursday but called it “a great achievement.”

Hezbollah and Israeli troops have been exchanging fire along the Lebanon-Israel border since Oct. 8, a day after Hamas’s deadly assault in southern Israel that left at least 1,200 Israeli civilians and troops dead and more than 200 taken hostages.

Hezbollah officials say that by attacking Israeli posts along the border, the Iran-backed group is keeping three Israeli army divisions busy at a time when Israeli troops are pushing into the Gaza Strip where more than 11,000 people have been killed over the past five weeks, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry.

“The side that can stop this aggression, is the side that is managing this aggression. It is America,” Nasrallah said, referring to the United States, a main supporter of Israel.
