And @Dazler97 .. with long exposures ( up to 20, 30 secs shutter speeds ) you really would need a tripod to get the best least blurry shots. Im not sure a phone camera would cut it, but even for that some sort of tripod would be best

Saw a bit of it on way home but clouded over quickly as frequent downpours. 36mm since 9pm yesterday.

So after 41mm of rain for the past 26 hours in Sligo its moved a bit South. Gauge now on 64.5mm for the month. That's what you get with an aurora in Sligo, some of the wettest weather of the year. Even July could be proud of that number.

I see the tornado 🌪 that hit the channel islands during storm ciaràn is thought to have been between an EF3 and EF4 (160 to 190mph) making it the strongest tornado in over 70 years

Getting very windy in Oranmore now.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Fairly big showers coming in from the west now..very strong wind with them too

Just missing Sligo so far but by lunch I'd say no. 77mm for month looks like it will be added to.

Markree only on 48mm so they mustn't have got that real heavy rain Sunday night. It was even heavier in Rosses Pt so could be close to 100mm there for November.

I've never had a 300mm month since I started recording in 2009. A few 200mm ones. Still need 223mm though but averaging 10mm a day so far.

First hail shower of the season here in Achill. Holding the door open for a cat who is miaowing to come in but won't move from under the hedge.😬

Some strong radar returns on that creeping squall line stretching from Clare to Armagh, Cavan getting the worst of it.

    Met Eireann Radar

Great time to loose the Shannon radar, with more heavy showers on the way, some sferics off the coast of Kerry.

It's still a botch even though they "improved" it. Maybe it's like our sky box and goes off when there's strong showers. How come Dublin never goes off.

⚠️Status Yellow - Rain warning for Clare, Kerry⚠️

Heavy showers will be prolonged or thundery at times with local hail, and some spot flooding is likely.

Darkest of mornings. Lashing rain. NE Galway. 5⁰

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,140 ✭✭✭redsteveireland

Could really have added Galway to that warning, showers are extremely heavy this morning, going from light to dark as they pass, roads were already showing signs of spot flooding at 06:30 this morning.

Has actually been nice the last few days in Dublin, no rain, cool, decent spells of sun, and not offensively windy. I suppose I can't ask for much better at this time of year.

Beautiful so far in South Wicklow

The distant but beautiful CB on the left a foreboding though

Status Yellow - Wind warning for Clare, West Cork, Kerry, Limerick

    Met Éireann Weather Warning

Strong and very gusty west to northwest winds.

    Possible impacts:

    • Difficult travelling conditions

    • Wave overtopping

    Valid: 23:00 Thursday 09/11/2023 to 04:00 Friday 10/11/2023

Unusual for Met Eireann to confine a warning to just part of a county. West Cork has always considered itself different to the rest of Cork anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,366 ✭✭✭✭Thelonious Monk

I spoke too soon, it's offensively windy out there and it's a wind that would cut you in two

Best day of the week locally. A couple of showers but not as intense or frequent as previous days.

During the heatwave last year they added south Leitrim which I felt was weird but there was a 10c difference in temperature between North and south of the county
