Congrats! Yes I think once you’re cleared they offer you a role then. Can I ask are you the open or the inter panel? Are you the most recent batch 2.2?

Thank you, yes it’s an interdepartmental position off the September interviews.

Movement seems to be quiet on the open panel for batch 2.2 (September interviews). Has anyone on the open panel been called for clearance yet? I’m in the top 15 and haven’t heard from PAS. As we move into November, I wonder is a January 2024 start most likely?

I am number 3 on open & the email said they couldn’t confirm if I held out for open how long it could take.

That makes sense! Do you mind me asking where on the inter panel you were? Trying to figure out if they have many left to get through. The waiting is the worst!

Do PAS move on to the Open stream once the interdepartmental is exhausted usually?

I think so, but not sure.

Open seems definitely slower at the moment alright, reading back on the thread and some of the PAS replies to candidates, it just seems to be dependent on the volume of requests from departments off the individual panels. I'm top 10 on the open and haven't received an offer yet either on that stream. Presumably as well, top 10 is also more likely top 5 and so on due to cross over between interdepartmental and open panel but I don't know how many are still ahead of me from previous batches of course! Hopefully there might be some movement on the open side this coming week....

I’m in the same boat. Hoping we might hear something from the Open panel this week or someone who’s near the top will tell us! I’m guessing they’re finished with batch 2.1 open, but no idea.

Has anyone who was shortlisted in the top 100 last week been contacted with interview dates yet?

Does anyone know how many are on the Inter-D panel batch 2.2 from September? So is it the norm that PAS will go through the Inter-D panel first and then start on the Open panel? Didn't realise that, though it probably makes sense since some people will be on both lists.

Anyone that scored higher than 127 or higher in the application shortlisting scoring is being called to interview in this batch. I got my date for interview in November.

Any updates from PAS on clearance or panels?

Hi does anyone have any further update from PAS on these numbers? TIA

This awfully slow competition seems to be reflected in the quiet thread. Did anybody get called outside of Dublin Meath and Offaly?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10 curtains22

For Dublin it's at 1037 and above, shortlisting at 127 and over for November interviews. They plan to also interview a "small batch" in the new year at a lower short listing number. I was 95 and they indicated I would probably be included in the small batch.

Are there many interviews taking place in Nov, I wonder is it 1 week or 2 weeks?

I am scheduled for an interview on the 9th November next but I am for a provincal panel.

PAS have been in contact with me regarding clearance. However, I need extra/special security clearance in addition to Garda Vetting - how long will this take? The email said it could take up to 16 weeks, which is February, then an offer would actually be made then, and I would give my two months notice at my current job, so making my start date in April (nearly a whole YEAR after I applied for the job). Is this a likely timeline, would I be able to start before this additional clearance is obtained?

PAS said that they hope to start the open panel clearance for batch 2.2 within the next 2 weeks. Have a good weekend all

    Hello,

I am hoping to put in an application for the next one, whenever that will be.

Any tips on psychometric test providers to try for sample tests? Anyone have success in using a particular test provider?

    Thanks

Do we know which departments they are hiring for in the 2.2. open batch?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 101 ✭✭countyireland12345

I don’t think anyone has been called for clearance yet from the Open panel. Fierce slow! Hopefully we might hear this week.

Don't mean to take away from this thread and the ongoing AP competition but just to say that shortlisting results came out today for the AP Higher competition (where the top 160 ranked candidates after Stage 1 for this open competition were eligible). All potential placements are in the departments of Finance, Taoiseachs and DPENDR. Anyone with a score exceeding 112 is being called for the next stage (main interview) while others on scores below this are being called for interview in due course. Shortlisted but likely to have interview after Christmas. Best of luck to anyone still involved.

I heard today. I’m on the open, so they’re moving through them!

That's fantastic! Congratulations! Do you mind letting us know your number on the Open panel? Thanks.

Congrats, I'm sure it felt like a very long wait between results and hearing! Was it a clearance email you got? Would be good to know rough position on the open panel if possible, thanks and well done!
