I don’t think he could challenge him. When he asked about what Israel are doing to the Palestinians he was met with a long, descriptive, explanation of what Hamas did last week.

Don’t think he wanted another one.

    A rare slip.

If I am as sharp as Pat at 75 I'll settle for that.

    Maybe so.

But when Pat asked him, as a doctor does he feel any compassion towards his colleagues in Gaza dealing with what they are dealing with, we were met with "I've dealt with suicide bombers" I expected a bit more from the host.

Yeah, I think Pat would have pressed him if he was a politician or another public figure but because the guy was effectively a civilian I think he tried to move on.

    Anton in for Pat today

Pat does seem to be "as lathair" a lot more often these days - is Anton the anointed successor?

Hopefully he is but at the same time would be great to have PK a bit longer.

Wonder if he’d have any interest in two weekend shows and switch Anton into the midweek slots?

Christ that last song sounded like Mannix Flynn, thought he'd released music! Both those last two songs where dreadful, the Dublin accent is awful.

Oooh let's not blame pedestrians for being idiots. They need "education".

    PC box ticked.

Why does economist Colm McCarthy always sound like he's inebriated?

A lot of what he says is interesting but he comes out with some howlers too.

Like this morning when he was complaining about young people "hanging around university until they are 24".

This from a guy with a couple of degrees himself and a lecturing job in UCD.

Good interview this morning with Marian Finucane's husband John Clarke about his book. Had to laugh at the description of his matriarchal mother who had no time for feminism -- "I am the boss" ..

And the chilling observation about the bishop asking during the confirmation ceremony "Which one is the illegitimate?" so he could pass the child over. They sounded like an interesting and unconventional couple. The book could be a good stocking filler this Christmas.

Again, fair play to the Pat Kenny show for being the only current affairs show to put their heads above the parapet and outlining the International Protection racket.

Latest figures less than 30% made their asylum application at Dublin Airport or a port. What a joke of a country we are.

I'd say the reason they ask on the Pat Kenny show is that Pat himself has some input into the content and at his stage of his life and his career he is prepared to stick his head above the parapet and deal with any fall out for asking these questions!

The same station also has Ciara Kelly , Shane Coleman, Ciaran Cuddihy as Government mouthpieces, far too terrified to ever look at the other side, the side most of the ordinary Irish people are on, the side that asks legitimate, realistic questions.................and we are called racist for doing so. Well done Pat! I don't know what radio will be like the day Pat retires.

People that get themselves into debt over Xmas really need their heads examined.

This is spot on re middle classes and their party powder. Oh dear I want to know if the coffee beans in my frappuccino were ethically sourced but don't care where my coke comes from or how many people the cartels shot and dumped their bodies.

Whatever the in drink people drink these days, I don't care. People get very defensive and annoyed when you throw a light on their habit.

Working classes also do cocaine too, it's accross all classes.

Middle classes ought to know better but don't. Full of the woke and #bekind but they leave their morals at the door on this one.

Pat just announced the he will have the Israeli ambassador on today - again!!!

Why does he keep giving this venomous harridan a platform to lie and obfuscate, refusing to answer straight questions while sticking rigidly to the script she'll undoubtedly employ next time she is on RTE as well?

Both Israeli and Palestinian representatives on the show are living in cloud cuckoo land, spouting the same old predictable company lines. This will only have one result taken to its conclusion, more Palestinians driven into the arms of Hamas, more rockets etc shot towards Israel, wash, rinse, repeat until everyone is dead.

She side stepped beautifully the question about the illegal settlements, failure to abide by UN resolutions, etc. I almost admire her skill at this. The Israelis have weaponised propaganda. They never, never, answer a direct question about the legality of the (expanding) occupation

Throughly sick of all of them. Let them blow each other to hell. No one has learned anything.

Jesus that Sara Madden one just did a report on GP services.

When Pat started making a few observations, it was a case of mmmmm, hummmm, mmmmm.

Darina Allen on this morning shilling her re-released bool. That Ballymaloe crowd have some pull in the media in this country. How have they not been cancelled to hell with all their historic dodginess?

As Oliver Callan used to say when doing his Rachel Allen skits: " Don't mention the thing"
