Standard Ryanair PR. Winter route reductions are not cuts, and then talking out of both sides of their mouth about investment.

This isn't the first time they've used their annual winter cuts as a stick to beat DAA with. It's tiresome seeing the media lap it up every time.

Interesting to see them complain about a lack of expansion plans for T1 and T2. Anyone who still pays much attention to their toy-throwing might remember that's the same T2 which we were told would be a white elephant and a gargantuan waste of money.

Exactly. I am more surprised at them removing all the max aircraft though, considering the extra capacity they bring for busy routes and the lower charges for these in DUB that was previously announced.

"lack of infrastructure expansion" is a slightly hilarious reason for Ryanair to use when they've spent years objecting loudly to any infrastructure expansion. If they'd been listened to in the mid 2000s we'd never have gotten T2 because it was "unneeded".

Bit of a knee jerk reaction this post is it not ?! it’s not like Ryanair has a bit of history in making stuff up or anything.

It's a pity Klagenfurt is gone. I used it last year for a ski trip and was extremely handy, train door to door. Tiny airport that takes two seconds to get through. I was planning to book on for next ski trip and the flights were all loaded up.

But yeah, a usual load of waffle and PR spin for FR. Those routes are most definitely the routes with the lowest advance bookings into the leaner winter months. Fares before they were pulled were €19.99 for 2+ hour flights. Crews are probably heading towards maxing their hours and they won't want to waste them on loss making winter routes.

Also, why does the DAA write its name as daa in these press releases? It looks stupid and incorrect. Anyway, side point I know - it just annoys me!
