Apologies if this has been asked already.. i collected my Buzz last week… in my eNiro I could set cruise control at say 100 and it stayed that way.. the Buzz seems to be picking up signs from on ramps / outer space and adjusting my cruise speed as it sees fit.. can I disable this so it stays at what I set it to?

(asking here as there’s more owners here vs the Buzz thread!)

Go into the assistance menu and I think under adaptive cruise control there's a setting called speed limit preview, try disabling that

There might also be the same setting under front assist, you may need to disable both

There's a setting to turn off speed sign recognition but a quick tap on the accelerator will override the slow down.

    Thanks guys! I’ll try that.

I'll try this out tonight but somebody may have mentioned above, if you try to change anything on the app mid charge, the car/app has a brain fart and the car stops charging. Also if you set your preferred charging time on the car and later change it on the app I'm expecting something to go wrong. Thoughts on this?

Yes, I have seen the app and the car fighting each other and they overwrite each other.

I think they might have sorted that in latest app and latest v3.2 software in the car but cant be 100% sure on that. I haven't had a problem with it recently but I haven't been hitting the app as much.

Are you on v3.2 in the car?

Forgot about the App for now, use the car timer to set the charging time. Utilise the App to just check battery level and remote heating/cooling.

Whats the story with the 0-50% charge thing on the car and app? Do I just leave that at zero and set the 50-80% to whatever charge I need? I don't want the car to start charging until the preferred time I have set so I'm presuming this is why I leave the 0-50% "immediate" charge at zero.

Is anyone else getting "connection error, try again" when you select a charger from the map in the app?

It's been happening for a few days now. I thought it might have been a server issue but given no-one else here has mentioned it I'm starting to think it's an issue with my app

What's the story with getting a hard wired dash camera with the ID4? I was checking out Halford's and noticed they do not hardwire dash cameras for electric vehicles. Can it be done? Any recommendations?

Update: I fixed the problem by clearing the app data and logging back in, seems to be fine now

Just got an email saying We Charge no longer accept Revolut cards and asking me to update my payment details

Well that's going to be a bit of a problem, guess that's the end of We Charge for me then

I bought one of these and it worked out pretty well:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Volkswagen-Fitcamx-Driving-Recorder-G-Sensor/dp/B09MF3RDLY

Fitting is a bit on the difficult side, if only to get the cable for the rear-view mirror unplugged so you can connect the dashcam. It looks completely stock. Camera itself is not quite as good as the high-end models on the market, but it's good enough.

Thanks, I'll look into that. I wasn't aware that you could wire it in so close to the rear view mirror!

Anyone know if you can restrict functionality or speed in an ID.4 if someone drives the car as a guest?

I think you can do this with BMW digital key, but don't think you can with VW profiles at the moment.

Are profiles linked to physical keys? Never really bothered with profiles after setting up my own one so don't know much about them.

Have a learner driver in the house so would be good to know what's possible.

    Short answer, no

You can set the speed limiter through the ACC controls but it isn't linked to a user and you'd have to do it every time

The drive profile on eco or individual with engine on range power would limit it to 150hp and dull the throttle but you'd need to select it every time.

I've had that too - it says they no longer accept Revolut credit cards, which mine isn't, it's a debit card... Either way, screw them as I'm not giving them another card.

Holiday driving yesterday, had an icky passenger, (don't blame the driver!). Very measured driving and got 180 km on 50% of the smaller battery. Also got to 12.1 kwh/100 km.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,163 ✭✭✭Mr Q

I don't doubt those are the figures the car showed.

But 52kWh at 12.1kWh/100km would be 430km. You only got 180km for 50% or 360km on a full charge.

Does the smaller battery not actually have 52kWh usable capacity in the same way the ID.3 doesn't actually have 58kWh.

Why does the cars infotainment screen always revert back to ‘Charge Immediately’ ? when I want to charge it?

I’m selecting ‘preferred times’ now because that’s the only setting that seems to work at the moment.

But the car always keeps going back to ‘charge immediately

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,069 ✭✭✭✭the_amazing_raisin

Dunno, that seems to a quirk in the design

Sometimes it'll remember but then forgets later

My wild guess is that when you stop the car it hasn't fully locked the GPS location and doesn't know you're at your preferred charging location yet

It resets to the default behaviour but then loads the possible choices for that charging location

Again, total guesswork, but try waiting 10 seconds after parking before turning off the car and see if it helps

what version of the software do you have?

should be working properly if you’re on latest(v3.2+)

    I’m on 3.2 yeah

Priced a hitch for the car, over €3K😯

Anyone experienced the car charging to 100% when you have it set in the car to 80% and also set on the charger (Zappi) to 80%? Happened last night and nothing obvious as to why.

The 80% on the Zappi refers to the minimum green energy, it only applies when charging the car from solar

It sounds like the car and app got out of sync, this can happen sometimes if the settings on the app don't save to the car

Personally I'd just set it on the car, it's quicker than waiting for the app to sync

Apparently if you then off "personalisation" from the mobile services in the app then it makes it more reliable
