Probably the end of the road, got this from them today, anyone else?

    Hi,

We would like to provide you with an important update regarding the acceptance of payment cards in light of recent changes in the handling of Argentine Peso (ARS) currency exchange by Visa and Mastercard. As a result of these changes, our payment processor will now only accept cards issued by Argentine banks for the foreseeable future. This includes both Visa and Mastercard.

Depending on your current country of residence, you have a few options available to you:

If you currently live in Argentina and are using a VISA or MASTERCARD card that was not issued by an Argentine bank, please update your payment method to a card issued in Argentina. Failure to do so may lead to billing failure and, ultimately, the cancellation of your subscription.

If you have moved to a different country, you will need to create a new TIDAL account using a different username and register it in the new country where you currently reside. Once your new account is set up, we can assist you in transferring all your playlists and favorites.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the TIDAL Support team here.

Don't have that either. Israel is the only option available to me in the ME.

Yeah, I found this article which seems to suggest it's USD in the UAE. Still ok value but far away from Argentina.

Sh•t. Sorry folks. Just cancel the 30 day trial I guess.

Tidal in Nigeria looks very cheap.

I spent an hour or so globetrotting on this and found that all of the cheaper locations wouldn’t accept my revolut.

I have YouTube music with YT premium that I never use. I tried going back to it and I can’t get on with it at all. App is terrible, can’t migrate music to it and Sonos integration is horrendous.

Hopefully UAE lasts but I’m starting to think that the end of the road is looming.

Keepsolid VPN wouldn't work with location set to Nigeria, so I signed up to South Africa Hifi Plus for an initial 60 days for 24 Rand (€1.20) using Revolut. After that it will be 120 Rand per month (€6) which is significantly better than €20 here I suppose.

Use tunnelbear. That will get you Nigerian rate. Revolut didn't work for me for SA or anywhere else. Tried VISA and MC.

Have had accounts in both turkey and Argentina and not looking forward to transferring all my playlists again and so am looking for something more stable and cheaper.so If anybody is interested in setting up a hifi plus family plan, works out €6 pp p/m,then count me in(cheaper than current €20 pp p/m).I’ve read there’s a price increase in September but that would be shared by all and we’d also get the first month free

Nigeria is currently $2.56 / month for HiFi.

Would you notice the sound difference while streaming in the car?

Edit - Makes no difference, Revolut wont go through, using TunnelBear.

So is it a case now of new email addresses needed, transfer playlists etc.. if I was to change to Tidal Nigeria/Chile/Colombia or wherever? No simple option that I've moved location within the website or app?

I used tidal before and liked the layout and sound quality, do you folk think it's better than Spotify/YouTube?

Time is contagious, everybody's getting old.

I know when I moved from Turkey to Argentina I had to use a different email and the family members had to give me a different email address.

I didn't bother with playlists so don't know there.

Yes for me too, I love the integration with Plex and USB Audio Player Pro, if you're in to that kind of thing

Tunemymusic is great for moving playlists etc, have syncs setup between them

I need Tidal to be cheap so that I can justify my payment for Roon. $14.99/month.😕

My payment went through on Revolut virtual mastercard

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 539 ✭✭✭onform

Are you sure it went through fully? My payment was taken today but showing a status of 'Pending' in Revolut.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,546 ✭✭✭dor83

Mine went through yesterday and is showing as completed in Revolut.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 571 ✭✭✭boardz

My last payment went through 24 August (Argentina). Revolut virtual card. Are we 100% sure that this won't work going forward?

Just on the Tidal Nigeria payment issue - it wouldn't work for me either (Revolut) until I remembered to turn the VPN off at the payment stage.

30 day trial so hopefully the Argentina situation will be confirmed either way by then...

I tried that but no joy. Do you turn off VPN on the page that you enter CC details on or when you select plan?
