He was in negotiations with RTE and then, self aware(not) Ryan decided to make a statement after the GT report was made public.

Thats a bit like interviewing with Twitter and while in the interview tweeting "I'm about to get a job with Twitter".

That statement clearly pissed off Kevin Bakhurst, unsurprisingly. It would me to be honest.

Anyway, Ive got the prosecco on ice. I'll be popping it at 9pm watching th news.

What did he say in his statement that was arrogant. I didn't see it.

    This is it exactly.

The whole entire kip of RTE is an egotistical willy waving exercise between a skipfull of them to leech as much public money as they can without too much noise. Total gangster $hit.

If Tubridy had kept his mouth shut this morning, he'd be back on the leech suck train next month.

Almost tempted to post that famous Norwegian football commentator clip. :) Either way, this is a very bad result for Tubridy, Kelly and their supporters. It will also have implications for other RTE "talent".

There is more going on with the €120k that Tubridy "waived" at the end of 2019....

He was going to get it in the next contract....

I'd imagine the licence fee revenue falling off a cliff sharpened KB's focus too. They need the money and Tubs was the face of the fiasco.

Channel 4, ITV and the BBC must be delighted they can finally snap him up. 🤣🤣🤣

Some of the nothingburger brigade seem to have gone quiet. In the end his own hubris did him in. All he had to do was act contrite and accept accountability, but seemingly even that was too much for him.

It takes a special kind of idiot to put the boot into an employer they are desperate to work for again not once, but twice! Still I am sure the BBC are just waiting in the wings to sign up this incredible talent.

I'm sure many of the other "talents" he represents are getting itchy feet now.

Isn't it deliciously bonkers that he was all set to return but he just couldn't resist flexing after the Grant Thornton report was published. An intriguing outcome. Good riddance.

He's probably sitting in his mews house now, surrounded by appropriated freebies, wondering how RTE could do this to him.

I believe it may well be the first time anyone has refused him anything.

Well done Mr. Bakhurst-I have to say I doubted you.

    Good riddance to bad rubbish.

    Off with you RT.

I reckon those of us True Believers (including Mr. B.Suki, should he hopefully return, no doubt this news will hearten him) need to get together for a Nothing Burger and a pint.

It has been a long road.

I don’t think Bakhurst deserves any credit or applause, Tubs was always on the way back according to him and had one foot in the door and was always coming back until he f*cked it up for himself. They’ve been paying him all this time and were in contract renegotiations. Bakhurst should have told him to sling his hook elsewhere weeks ago.

He should have, but at least he has now.

I firmly believed he would capitulate at every turn, he hasn't, and deserves some little credit for that in my view.

I do take your point though, should have happened long ago.

Clear the place out of nk people. I’m sure Kelly duped a few into going with him. A typical dodgy salesman. Can’t be trusted and will say anything to make themselves look good and and honest but really only in it for themselves.

Did the name a replacement yet for the late late show with James cordon? Kelly and tubs probably try and sell the idea of a show called the late late show

Kevin Bakhurst will be live on Prime Time at 930. Also Terry Prone, Fintan O'Toole and Fionann Sheehan on to discuss.

I'm no fan of Tubridy and think he is overpaid but just because he reacted to a statement about RTE **** up, which he is perfectly entitled to do so, surely that's not a good reason for RTE to get rid of him.

As Shazz on the news has just put it, it seems petty. I'd say RT has a good case against them.

Can they just fire Tubrity into space and be done with him. He's a talentless nobody.

Amnesty International’s new investigation shows that Israel imposes a system of oppression and domination against Palestinians across all areas under its control: in Israel and the OPT, and against Palestinian refugees, in order to benefit Jewish Israelis. This amounts to apartheid as prohibited in international law.
