Kavanagh says he has a top 5 lightweight now in both ufc and Bellator, and both will be aiming for the belt in 2024. Like Conor or not but his will to win, and take on the very best, is to be admired.

1 1 thing that hasn’t been commented on re the photos of the accuser is that it looks like he’s moved up a fair few weight classes- always pushing the limits

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,922 ✭✭✭✭Dtp1979

Who has kavanagh got in the ufc that’s top 5?

Oops my mistake I misread what Kavanagh wrote, it was light heavyweight, so Johnny Walker and Karl Moore he reckons will be going for title next year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,393 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

Well that make a little more sense, considering Walker is ranked top 5. Dint think Karl is up there yet.

Sounds like no fight this year. His appearance on the show was just for marketing.

it's sad what he has become , he can have all the wealth in the world but no class or humility

2014-2016 best years and did what he said he'd do

then all sexually assault and rape allegations etc which i firmly believe are all true based on his actions plus i know the solicitor who represented the girl who was attacked on the boat , he paid her millions not peanuts

In general, people who have committed their lives to their sport struggle with adjusting to normal life when retiring, it seems Conor struggles even though he still has his sport, when he does retire if he doesn’t change it won’t end well at all, jail or an early grave, take your pick.

Conor doesn't have the sport anymore,

Conor is gone & never coming back , he knows that more than anyone ,He has 1 win in 7 years & that win was nearly 4 years ago, The sport has passed him by for various reason's he is done ,

You can't just decide to come back in the lower weight classes after years of inactivity & abuse to your body & expect to mix it with world class athletes who have been putting it in day in day out for years ,They are killers Conor is no longer that ,

He knows that himself that he has no chance of come back, if he believed it he'd be calling out Islam , he wouldn't be settling for chandler

Like or not he's made is money and he's still making smart investments. His fighting days at the top are gone but his stardom is as strong as ever.

Haven’t seen the fight episode yet but Lee Hammond was very poor on the face off in episode 1, he wasn’t able to stare into the other lad at all, must have been nerves or else he’s a shy lad??

He totally dominated his fight, looked really impressive but made a serious error leaving his neck exposed to the guillotine.

Yeah I saw it on the Fri nite. Conor will probably still get him into the ufc when time is right, he has a few European titles but no big mma win, and not in Bellator or even Cage Warriors. Tho Dana and the others seemed to be fairly impressed with him. He does seem a quiet chap tho and keeps a low profile. He looked out of place when he was with Conor when he attacked the bus. Still I prefer him over that Superman Canadian fella Katona who seems to worship the ground that John Kavanagh walks on. Something very slimy and smarmy about him.

I watched the recent episode of TUF and thought Katona was lucky enough to get the decision. It was a good fight but very even, the Dagestani Git more takedowns and was probably more the aggressor, but Katona maybe the more composed. A draw and a 4th round winner take all probably wuda been fair, I think Katona decision to move across to Conor is what hit him the win. Not a fan of this Brad Suoerman anyway, he is even more cringe than Ian Garry.

He is very funny with his bag of cans, but I worry that Conor is gonna get arrested some day soon for public drinking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,001 ✭✭✭✭Frank Bullitt

It’s probably the cocaine though, cans would make you look at stupid, or would they?

Calling out ksi last night was him just being funny I hope!

Time is contagious, everybody's getting old.

Surprised it took McGregor this long to move towards fighting YouTubers, decent money to be made and doesn't have to worry about cutting out his 'supplements'

Might even win a fight if he gets lucky

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,673 ✭✭✭Man Vs ManUre

He may have no shame and his antics of past 5 years can leave even his most loyal of fans finding it hard to defend him, but in fairness to him he has been an unbelievable salesman for the whiskey and now the stout. He has it everywhere with him, I hope the current focus on his forged doesn’t end up him becoming more round and pot-bellied!! He used to always claim he drank spirits as they didn’t put on as much weight. And the black forge has become a Mecca for his adoring fans, another raging inferno of a success just now. He is truly a man for his people even if he does a lot of stupid things fairly often!!

Jaysus. I remember when you'd get an instant ban around these parts if you even hinted that the fellas whiskey was only the second best whiskey you'd ever tasted.
