Sky FPL 23/24

Tried this a few years back but couldn’t wrap my head around it. Are there any decent guides out there?

We have very good players in our Boards League including a former winner and numerous top 100 finishes. I would consider the players who play Sky a far higher standard than in the FPL. I don't think you'd have any problem getting a money league going if you want to set it up but to win it you would have to finish in the top 50 overall imo.

Happy to lose for a little while, while developing enough engagement to ideally become good eventually. I think we all did it in FPL (some of us more recently than others etc)

It's good with the paid leagues that Sky handles the money so you don't have to worry about getting paid your winnings. Albeit you have to have a Sky Bet account in order to be able to enter (either Sky's own paid leagues or ones set up by regular members). If there's interest I'd be happy to set one up - £10 or £20 entry maybe? Would limit it to Boards folks obviously.

I have a draft with a lot of placeholders but I was able to pick a team with TAA, Kane, Salah and Haaland in it. I don't really want to be swapping between the big 3 at the start like I did last season. I have Dunk too. It's amazing how he goes under the radar most seasons. Only worry with him is the lack of clean sheets last season.

You have a captain for each day in the game week and you can make transfers to your team during the game week.

It's not that bad. Most of the time the captains are obvious. The main problem is remembering to set the captain 😀

The year before last when thunderdog and myself did well there was a fair bit of activity on the thread. Last season there was hardly anything but you could say the same for the whole Fantasy Football forum here. Hopefully it will be better this year. I have no problem posting here more often to get more interaction since it is the main game I play!

I hope to concentrate on this a bit more than the last two seasons as well, first thing I've noticed is a lot of single matches on Friday nights,no harm to start with a Luton player(which one I don't know) to save on early transfers

Edit: forget Luton, their first home game v Burnley is already postponed

How’s our drafts coming on ?

Haaland/Saka/Dunk/Onana/Martinez in both my teams aswell. Pretty certain that will be the case next Friday.

I haven't done much yet really because I was away for most of the month and I haven't paid much attention to who joined who. I had planned on having the big 3 but if Kane goes obviously it gives me more wiggle room for the rest of the team. Planned on having Dunk anyway but I guess everyone will be doing that. Not sure if I will cover a matchday if there are 2 bad teams playing. Friday matches should be banned!
