same here, got through only to see "PResale happening now" but no link to select tickets. No code from MCD yet.

If anyone has MCD code they are not using it would be greatly appreciated.🙂

I'll take an MCD code too if anyone isn't using it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 407 ✭✭Med101007

Yeah but I'd say half of the 30000 in front of them didn't have the presale code

Got in early for Night 4 (surly the residents won't kick up) and picked up a Lower Cusack 305 ticket

The 'Aisle seat' option is becoming a thing for gigs now. Pity as I was lucky enough to pick up 1 aisle seat in the past

Roll on next September, boy that was a stressful sale

i'm trying to think of any other example where multiple bodies work and work successfully in competition for the same event.

Anyone know why I couldn't use the Ticketmaster App to buy tickets? Got the message when I tried to buy on the app on the phone:

"Please use your mobile browser or desktop to shop for these tickets."

Has anyone received their MCD code yet? I applied but haven’t heard anything.

I assume the website can handle the traffic better than the app (though it really couldnt in reality)

There was a link on the mirror website: Coldplay Croke Park second presale open as Irish fans rush to get tickets - Irish Mirror Online - althought it sayit's registration closed if you click on it you can still put in your email - no idea if this work or not now.

Disagree with a lottery personally, Taylor Swift sort of did that and its rubbish. I'm quite good at getting tickets, its not fun when you aren't even able to attempt getting them.

Anyone got mcd presale code or a link emailed yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,731 ✭✭✭RoryMac

It has been doing that for a while now on tickets that are in high demand anyway. Definitely used to be a difference in queues on the app against the web, so maybe changed to have all traffic come to same destination but doesn't seem to have helped with the website issues during these sales

Would love to know how this queue lark actually works. How was I in the queue from 9:59 and my friend joined at 10:10 and got a better number than me and got through the whole system a lot faster. I then had two accounts on the go for the Sunday, I logged on to the first one the second the date was announced and I was in 60,000s, logged onto the second account and while the first device was at 30000s by then the second one overtook it and went straight into the 20000s, despite the first one being in the queue about 30 minutes before it. I’m not sure they understand how ‘queuing’ works!

Just wondering for those who don't manage to get any tickets soon , do ye know if the prices for tickets are similar elsewhere on thier tour dates?

They are in Germany, France, Italy etc before they play in Ireland and was thinking if I can't get Dublin just go abroad instead.

Lots of companies produce products and sell them through various retailers.

Stocks and shares sold via various channels in microseconds continuously.

I just tried again for the Monday gig and got in to choose tickets after about 5 minutes but any amount of tickets I choose comes back as unavailable even though I can see the pricing etc.

The Sunday tickets went live from around 11.55 onwards, was in queue at 11.58. I didn't see it announced till a few minutes after that. If refresh too much though they kick you out for being a bot 🤦

From what' i've heard, it' s random place in the Q, and not an actually Q system, so you were given 20k, your mate joins and get 15k, like your assuming there is 20k in front of you when you got that number, there may not have been. Doesn't make a pile of sense, but from what people are saying i think that's what's happening.

Just last week Taylor Swift tickets were sold on both Ticketmaster and AXS (in Ireland only Ticketmaster as no one else sells tickets to that magnitude here)

If anyone has an MCD presale code they no longer need, I'd happily make use of it. Thanks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,122 ✭✭✭SuperBowserWorld

All depends on how it's done.

Random distribution + personal id + traceability + open algorithm is fairer than 1 person queuing in multiple queues and purchasing multiple tickets across multiple venues ... to be resold at hijacked prices ... or to inflate demand.

Basically today you had loads of people being unproductive in some fake closed door "queuing" system. How much did that cost the economy? How many people were pretending to be "working" during this time. It's nuts. 🤣

for fear of being forgotten ( as i had asked earlier :) )

If anyone has an MCD code thingy, and they dont need it, I would really appreciate one off some nice (or even the not nice) person on here!!

    Thanks in advance ..☺️ 🤞

I was on at 11.59 and it said the presale was starting at 12 which it duly did.

Looks like I got tickets at the back of the Lower Davin, row VV-VV. Anyone know what the view is like from here, from looking at this photo it looks like I will be under the roof of the premium level

It would also be a guaranteed way to drag ticket sales out for ages which isn’t what anybody wants

I’d say its Livenation who are actually managing the tour, decide timings, tm does what ever they are told to do, as a service provider, but thats the way things are done in this business, be it rightly or wrongly, they get a massive interest surge, by selling multiple gigs at the same time.

Its like a broken record, each time a big event is on, promoters like MCD and tour management companies like Live Nation, are going to milk the publicity, any which way they can, thats the nature of business they are in, and they want demand to exceed supply, which they usually achieve.

I accepted years ago, this is just the way it is, and get organised, as best i can for the onsale. I have noticed, since i got fibre broadband, a few years back, this has definitely made a difference for me in getting tickets to big event gigs.
